With us or against us..
-- Christopher Michael Neill
Ah well, we are against you if you put it that way, most of 18 millions of us...
Good luck winning the election without us.
How deluded. Unity my ass...!
As I've said before: Hillary Clinton must stay in the race. Every day that passes, she reveals to us another depth of her narcissism and developing psychosis. Yesterday I wrote that she would commit another gaffe: hours later she made her arrogant, deluded speech.
Please stay in the race, Senator Clinton. Every day you remain ensures one less day, one less elected office, in your political career.
How can we put bitterness aside when you continue to distort the value of people we respect? Bill Clinton didn't have anything to do with the right-wing takeover of government. It started in the early 70's when people like Scaife decided that the only way to promote the Republican Party was to fund thinktanks to rephrase their message in a way that American's could stomach and to create media empires to spread the word. It really took off with Reagan's election. He was a potemking President, but he was a very good speaker and had good material to work with, as well as a nation that was sympathetic to his words because they had been softened up by 10 years of neocon lies (or rather "frames", a word not in common usage at that time). The whole "government is not the solution, it is the problem" and "all Taxes are evil" meme started back then. The "welfare queen" concept, and the "War on Drugs", and starting wars to distract people from their problems ... Reagan era ideas.
Bill Clinton won because of a schism in the Republican Party, old school Republicans v. Neocons. He won with less than 50% of the vote, and proceeded to work with Congress to implement policies that resulted in lower poverty, more civil rights, a balanced budget, and increased world respect for America. He was helped along by the tech boom, but, unlike Bush, he used that prosperity to help Americans instead of giving tax breaks to fat cat friends. There are reasons that Clinton was considered a friend to minorities - because he was. He was a damned good President whose administration was marred by scandals created by neocons who literally spent millions of dollars to create stories with which to tar him, culminating in an impeachment hearing about the ridiculous topic of his lying about getting a blow job. He didn't foment the revolution - that's why it is called the "Reagan Revolution". If anything, he undid a numbe of the setbacks that Reagan had initiated.
She continues to force Obama to fight a two front war. Had she gaciously supported Obama last night I was ready to say, OK let here be on the ticket as vice president.
Last night should have been Obama's night and she could have been so helpful if she had enthusiasticaly endorsed him and encouraged her followers to do likewise.
Yet, still she drags her feet.
Joan Walsh should write an article on her perceptions of Hillary now. I would love to see her thinking!
Let them bash Hillary and her supporters to their hearts' delight, there is nothing that can make this fact penetrate their thick heads that even if 20% of her supporters stay home, it's a welcome to president McCain.
Yeah, vilify them at your peril!! Smart move.
You seem to be forgetting the Bosnia story, the assassination myth, Bill Clinton supposedly using race to spin Obama's win in South Carolina, Ferraro, Hillary Clinton supposedly dismissing MLK's value, and Clinton's "tears"... all overblown scandals, each of which was based on distortions made by Obama's campaign and/or his supporter's.
Obama's scandals came from the right wing or web critics, not Clinton. They seemed more dramatic than they were because Obama had a free ride from the media until the last few months of the campaign (during which time the election turned against him, too late to change the delegate numbers).
I have been a strong proponent of Hillary Clinton from the very beginning, and it looks like super delegate momentum is now going the other way ---- today. I refer to “momentum” because these super delegate commitments are only valid for the moment they are given. They can always be changed between now and the convention in late August.
However, I would float this with all fellow Americans ---- if Mr. Obama and Mrs. Clinton would agree --- and of course if Mr. Obama were to invite Hillary Clinton to be a running mate as the Vice President, and ask her to take on some important responsibilities in a new administration, that might work in my mind.
The November election will be extremely difficult, yet I feel we (the Democratic Party) have a chance to win if a team could be put together that would involve a new administration on January 20th 2009 of both Obama and Clinton.
I believe that for the sake of the American people, both candidates could work things out ---- and make one team ---- and one administration.
To have John McCain win is absolute scary, and would be terribly wrong for our country.
For the love of all things holy "indigo" would you PLEASE stop pretending to be a Democrat? You're one of the most painfully obvious Republican Trolls lurking around here - and you're not fooling ANYONE.
Just run along little doggie...
I repsect Bill Clinton too -- and Hillary for that matter. That has nothing to do with the fact that the DLC's strategy of Republican appeasement (of which Clinton was a major player) failed in the end. Are you going to tell me that NAFTA and Welfare Reform and "Don't ask, don't tell" (just to name a few examples) are representative of good progressive policy? The real point is that I (as an Obama supporter) would vote for Clinton if she were the nominee. You apparently have chosen a far more destructive path.
Much of the initial coverage about Fort Hood turned out to be wrong. Is there anything wrong with that?
