The Michelle Obama Rant Tape was filmed between June 26th - July 1st 2004 in Chicago, IL at the Rainbow/PUSH Coalition Conference at Trinity United Church: specifically the Women’s Event.
Michelle Obama appeared as a panelist alongside Mrs. Khadijah Farrakhan and Mrs. James Meeks.
Bill Clinton spoke during the Conference, as did Bill Cosby and other speakers, but not at the panel Michelle attended.
Michelle Obama spoke at the Women’s Event, but referenced Bill Clinton in her rant — his presence at the conference was the impetus for her raving, it seems.
For about 30 minutes, Michelle Obama launched into a rant about the evils of America, and how America is to blame for the problems of Africa. Michelle personally blamed President Clinton for the deaths of millions of Africans and said America is responsible for the genocide of the Tutsis and other ethnic groups. She then launched into an attack on “whitey”, and talked about solutions to black on black crime in the realm of diverting those actions onto white America. Her rant was fueled by the crowd: they reacted strongly to what she said, so she got more passionate and enraged, and that’s when she completely loses it and says things that have made the mouths drop of everyone who’s seen this. …
The “tape” is a DVD that Trinity United sold on its website …
"The Clinton supporters who feel so burned by losing a tough-but-fair campaign that they can't concede defeat and try to blackmail the party are already gone. Attempts to woo them are as pointless as their idle threats."
The election was not "tough but fair". Axelrod played the race card to slander Clinton and her supporter's as racists, gaining sympathy votes from people who oppose racism and believed their spin and resentment from people who recognized that the spin was based on lies and distortions. Using this kind of tactics against a fellow Democrats was abhorrent - not "fair". I will recognize that Obama is a fair man, or at least a resonable man, when he acknowledges that Clinton got 50% of the vote and deserves a place on the ticket. When he takes active steps to show her respect, instead of simply reciting words that are as meaningless as the lies he spread about her to win the primary.
"Reminds me a lot of her refusal to concede the point about her Iraq War vote, and it speaks volumes about how she would act as president, and why I'm so glad Obama's the nominee.

Of a certain president we know who refuses to follow rules/laws Or acknowledge reality. Clinton is bush. She is no longer a democrat. That free's her supporters. Hopefully the democrats do not sell-out their party and ideals for a woman face. Let her run as a republican with mccain. She will take 30-40 percent of her people. She will stand with mccain for illegal immagration (slave labor). When/if obama goes right on that issue, whatever the gop does, clinton included, it won't matter. She is overplaying her hand. At least I'll get all me issues resolved by clinton selling out. May be bad for obama and the democratic party, but her selling out to the gop will be good for me. Because good will come out of it, imo.
peace salon readers. Fear not. What clitnon does next is of very little consequence. we can't lose like parker lewis. :)
As Mike Barnacle said and I paraphrase:
Hillary is like your drunken aunt, who's opening another bottle of wine while all your other guests are headed home.
She will NOT be Obama's VP. To hitch the "Old Politics" of Hillary to the "New Politics" Obama claims to offer would fly in the face of everything he says he represents. Not to mention the fact that when it comes to baggage, the Clintons would be showing up with two steamer trunks apiece.
but then I think you should like the kind of reform Obama has done as a senator, like introducing and passing legislation that to create an on-line database, easy to access to show where government money (ie taxes) is spent.
I agree with you about the 250 million bridge projects...and McCain has been strong against pork barrels. Except that what is the Iraq war at this point except the biggest pork barrel, vanity project of them all? And he's for it is war. McCain=more government spending in Iraq. And I don't think we can afford it.
Just think it over, you know!
"Unifying" behind Obama is to accept the following:
- New Liberal Fascist brownshirts on the internet and in the MSM telling what remains of the old democrats what to do and what to think, no questions or protestations allowed. If you don't do what they say they will spread all manner of lies and propaganda to destroy you, as they did to the Clintons.
- The Democratic Party becomes hostage to the Black Vote. 98% bloc voting for Black candidates. Not just in this primary, but in all elections, local, state and national. A gun pointed at the head of all Democratic officials at all levels.
- The death of the Clinton Center. A surge to the Hard Left by what remains of this political party, in the manner of MoveOn.org, Michael Moore, Rev. Wright, et al. This is not your parents' Democratic Party anymore. That political party is dead. You know I'm right. You feel it in your bones. It is a sad day for all of us.
The only way to prevent this from happening is for Obama to lose the general in November. It's your choice. It's your vote. Don't be railroaded. McCain will have at most a single term and the House and Senate will be dominated by Democrats.
The country will survive. But don't give the Democratic Party away to these radicals. It will die.
If you honestly believe the Obama campaign played the race card to slander Clinton and her supporters as racists and that Clinton and her surrogates are blameless so far as injecting race / gender divisions ... attempts to win you over are a waste of time.
Let's get real here: You don't want to be "won over." You want Obama and his supporters to soothe your smarting ego by kissing your ass.
I will recognize that Obama is a fair man, or at least a resonable man, when he acknowledges that Clinton got 50% of the vote and deserves a place on the ticket.
Great. So if Obama offers Clinton a place on the ticket, even if she declines this offer, you are going to vote for him. Do I have that right?
