"Overpaying" and "underpaying" for something always depends from where you start from. As in "Oh, I got a real bargain on that shirt because it was 20% off and I only paid $15." Not knowing that the store got it for 5 bucks from the wholesaler, who got it for 50 cents from the manufacturer in China. Something a lot of "intellectuals" are completely ignorant of -- no offense intended.
So, you see, your "overpayment" is a matter of mathematical perspective. You do understand math and economics, don't you? Oh, I forgot. You're a lawyer. I think Shakespeare was completely on target, btw, regarding what should be done to lawyers.
The only reason you're getting your rebate is because you're being taxed less than me. Do your math. Learn.
