Sadly, another reason not to vote for Hillary Clinton. Her will to win is admirable. But hasn't that will been a problem in American presidents since the end of WWII. Nixon had such a will - at all costs. And the capacity for delusion? Isn't Bush enough? The world simply doesn't need another one of those. It's so sad. I once thought she was a very special person, too.
Maybe she just wanted some happy news in an otherwise lackluster, poorly-run campaign. This nomination was hers to lose, and HR Clinton lost it. She entered the race with every possible advantage a candidate could've had, and squandered those advantages shockingly early in the game. What's worse, as things soured for her, the conduct of her campaign got even worse.
Weirdly, she amply demonstrated in her choice of advisers and her strategic and tactical stumbles why she is definitely not the right person for the job of president. If the conduct of a campaign is a good window into the management style of a candidate, HR Clinton blew that, too.
She was Queen Inevitable last year, before the votes were cast, and it's been downhill ever since. That she's even pinning her hopes on Puerto Rico at this late stage of the game says tons about the prospects of her campaign. Even loaning herself another chunk of money isn't going to cut it. She's lost. Now the question is whether she'll be able to find an iota of grace (so far absent in her campaign; she's got plenty of will, not so much grace) that will compel her to step aside and concede defeat.
That as the primary winds down and Obama must now turn and reunite the party while angling his rhetoric more to the middle, that so many Obama supporters are making that task far more difficult than it should be by gloating and propogating so much hateful rhetoric toward the other half of the Democratic Party.
If you've read the latest Eckhart Tolle book you know that "te quiero" means I want you and "te amo" I love you. The former is the more common way to say "I love you" in Spanish because, according to Tolle, the Spanish are more honest about what "love" usually means. That is, it usually means desire, lust, obsession, and an uncontrollable urge to possess someone. Hence, the expression "te quiero"--"I want you."
It is telling that Hillary Clinton chose the form "te quiero" and not the less common but equally correct form "te amo."
Hillary Clinton "wants" Puerto Rico. She doesn't love it. I assume her feelings about the rest of the American public and the US presidency are the same. She "wants" to be president not because she "loves" America but because she "wants" power. She doesn't love America because if she did she wouldn't be on this narcissistic crusade to make her own party look like a bunch of morons.
Finally, a requiem for Hillary. Can it be that after oh so many nasties, Her proclamations that "He is only an empty speech" and "He's Black" and and her recently revealed folly of husbands (over the last six months) appearance on Rush Limbaugh? Can it be? God Bless Anything and Everything.. that the Democrats are Finally Free From Hillary. Deeply hopes so... But don't count your chickens until you are sure she has finished cracking all the eggs. And click here for those posts so long ago when we give the resurrecting witch her first and second Requiem. www.deeplyimbedded.com
He has not one single significant accomplishment behind him, but nobody was allowed to say it.
What few honest blacks I can find on the matter were all shocked to find out the guy was running for President without even completing a Senate term (or showing up). But nobody was allowed to say it.
His middle name is Hussein - but that was off limits too.
Of course his wholesale endorsement of the racism he falsely accused all his critics of was off limits. (at least until the Republicans unleash the tapes of Michelle Obama yelling about "whitey" in October to take Congress back).
So I'd like to thank the liberal wing of the now 100% ash Democatic party for foising this loser out of Victory's jaws.
I"m sure there are a few numbskulls that don't think he'll lose worse than Dukakis, and please note their savvy plan:
Staying on the internet calling people racists and preparing to blame their landslide defeat on the candidate who would have cleaned McCAin's clock.
Misogyny much?
I will not be voting for Senator Obama.
I am not "racist trash" or a "hot flash Amazon bitch."
Further, I will never "shut up and sit down."
It is posts like yours that make me glad there is a write in option on the ballot.

What the hell happened?"
Joan Walsh happened.

Salon has become troll bait.
This popular vote nonsense is pathetic. It does not count the caucus states. Are those people to be disenfranchised? I counts Michigan where Obama was not on the ballot. It is, in fact, crazy crazy "thinking". If the nominee were chosen by popular vote, Obama would have run a different campaign. She seems to not be able to accept reality. That, nation, is called craziness.

TE QUIERO is correct! No Latino that tells their grandmother "te amo". TE AMO is amorous and it is the proper I love you for lovers. Just tune in to the tele novelas and you will learn within a half hour that mami "te quiero" means mommy I love you. No child is ever heard saying mami "te amo"!
If you want to knock Hillary around do it on policy and facts. Hillary does love her country and she has shown it through many years of service. Some people do remember and they have continued their support of her. It must be hard for the Obama campaign to see a RAINBOW island vote for her 2 to 1 and that they saw her as a person with a long history of service and experience. She was the best candidate that happens to be a woman.
Yo TE QUIERO too Puerto Rico and my next vacation will be in your beautiful island. Viva Puerto Rico!
