Viva Hillary Clinton! Although she won Puerto Rico easily, Clinton seemed to be campaigning in an alternate reality, as hopes for the nomination slipped away.

  • Who really cares?

Why worry about these nutballs are saying? We are MONTHS away from the general election, we have NO idea who Obama's VP candidate is going to be (it very well could be the lady in the pantsuit), and the Republican's candidate has an uncontrollable propensity to say the most ridiculous and inopportune things at times, not to mention all the baggage that comes with being a Republican after this disaster of an administration. No one knows for certain what's going to happen between now and the general election, but whoever their candidate, the Democrats have a very good chance of winning the White House as well as increasing their majorities in congress.

Whatever the polls say now (and if the nutballs would take a few moments away from their incredibly important work here at the Salon message boards to check them out they might be surprised to see where they are moving), this primary season has taught us that the polls are MOVABLE and that Obama, more than any other candidate, has the ability to move the polls once he puts his mind and campaign to it.

Let's please ignore the ad hominems and wingnut style insults that are flying out of of the latest Salon message board trolls and up the level of discussion here a bit.

Redstate.com. Townhall.com. Please just go there, you will feel more comfortable.

No Real Democrat and no real Clinton supporter would vote for McCain. You want war with Iran, continued war in Iraq, economic disaster, Roe V Wade overturned, etc., etc., which I believe you must, then please go vote for him and post with like minded troglodytes.

  • Stay Classy, ShawnWM

Yes, I realize that "ShawnWM" probably isn't an actual individual, but a rotating circle of right wing operatives. Nonetheless, for the benefit of real Clinton supporters, I'll respond to his accusation that Obama supporters are racist vulgarians (his term).

Last night, ShawnWM posted the following (which was subsequently removed for good reason):

"Whereas them hot mammas, all 380 pounds of HIV infected, uneducated lard hanging out of spandex with six kids from six different fathers in tote, they're never angry and bitter.

    -- ShawnWM

I submit this quote as evidence that ShawnWM is in no position to accuse others of being racist or vulgar. We've all got to do our best to reunite as a party and prevent people like "ShawnWM" from dividing us - we're Democrats and we're better than this.

people who vote to defend the institution of marriage in traditional terms are not homophobes--they're normal. people who want to punish those who break our laws and cross our borders illegally are not anti-mexican, they're pro-america.t's your kind of thinking that makes me proud to be a conservative.

  • Thanks Jason

I'm glad I have such a nice following. It's wonderful that you do that, and ignore say, the nine billion threads of the Nobamazombots who scream about whitey and how their entire life is Hillary's fault and stuff.

Anyway, what are you doing here. Im sure you and Bill Stearns have big plans and campaigning to do to help Obama win all those pesky demographics he's so weak in. Maybe you can roll out Teddy Kennedy to help, that should work.

You do have a PLAN right? I mean other than to sit here on Salon and call everyone a racist.

    Right?

  • To the INTELLIGENT, RATIONAL, HONORABLE HILLARY SUPPORTERS **

Do you really want these MESSAGES to be HRC's LEGACY -

    1. RULES are for suckers - agreeing to them and then changing them mid-game is the NEW WAY.

    2. If you cannot win on merit, whine, backstab, spread rumors / untruths until victory is yours.

    3. Threaten to scuttle the ship if you are not made captain. That shows your deep love for the ship.

Imagine how these precepts (and I could go on) will affect our lives, our society and economy.

SO PLEASE think about it and DO THE RIGHT THING. I started out with a lot of admiration for Bill and Hillary - but gradually I have had to see (and weigh) the pluses and minuses.

Life will go on ... there won't be any miraculous improvements - no matter who is the candidate! Once we jettison our ethics, civility, rational cooperative problem-solving, focus on real issues - this country is toast - no matter who is the leader.

Let's UNITE behind a candidate before it is too late!

** There will always be a "passionate" few who are unable to separate emotional attachment from rational thinking - but I hope that most of you are indeed honorable, fair minded folks!

  • Hillary is George Bush in disguise---or is it Gloria Steinem?

As Scott McClellan tells the tales of how he agreed to lie, and repeat falsehoods in order to promote a belief system, so has Hillary Clinton done the same thing.

She continues to tout that she has won the popular vote, as if that is true and that the popular vote should make her the nominee. She holds a rally in Puerto Rico with a group of people who cannot vote in the general election, and wants the superdelegates to select her because poor whites, and old(er) women like her!

She fails to get the picture that America is made up of more than just those groups. And we are all listening to her and shaking our heads, because she has been reduced to doing the same thing that George Bush has been doing for the last 8 years--lie, lie, lie. Power is all that there is for her, she is just one of 50 in the Senate. She wants to be on top and she wants all of the power to herself.

How sad she has become--and the Gloria Steinem group sounded so silly yesterday. A bunch of old hags that need to go home and put on their bras.

two more super delegates declared for Obama today. He now has 2070 of the 2118. the rest will come Tuesday or Wednesday. Then, shawn can take his self-abuse act back to freak republik with the rest of transylvanian inbreeds. An interesting primary season. the paid by the post morons can rake through the ashes of billary's burned campaign and cast blame and their own fecal matter, assuming there's a difference. The best candidate won, against great odds, and against great oddities like yoplait and hate bait kate and shawnie the two headed tool. Six months ago, Vegas wouldn't have given you odds on Obama winning the nomination. He did it. Turns out "yes, we can" ain't just talk. Wednesday, this stage will be over, and we can say "yes, we did". Then, McLame is in for an arse kicking, and he a huge arse begging to be kicked. Stock up on KY, shawnie baby. Grab yer ankles.
