Nicely contrived treatise as to why Hillary supporters should vote for Obama and not McCain. Too bad you're premise and conclusion are miles off base. Aside from that same tired and meaningless (if not simplistic and technically arguable) position of "she backed the war", you explain your ardent support for Obama with one word: "inspiring." To you perhaps, but not to others, and that's the inherit problem with you Obamanots. You're so enraptured by the profound emotional attachment that you feel for this "guy" that, like a recent religious convert, you condescendingly suggest that Hillary supporters just haven't been "saved" but that they should none the less rid themselves of their own feelings, though not of the same religious intensity and validity as yours. The vitriol demonstrated by the "Hate the Clintons Brigade" was too strong and too damagi9ng for the majority of Hillary supporters to get past. Certainly, they will not all vote for McCain and thereby ACTIVELY support an unthinkable consequence. No, they will simply do what most African Americans, new young voters and true and blue Obama acolytes would certainly do; they will stay home. They will not be part of what they construe as a "fixed and underhanded process." They will not "hold their noses" and vote for a candidate that was hand-picked and wholeheartedly shoved down their collective throats by Ted Kennedy, Oprah and a throng of anti- Clinton people. They will not be coerced by your attempt to affix guilt on them because of their inactivity allegedly helping John McCain. They will instead be focused on the stark fact that this anointed candidate, this "child of destiny", this media choice, this light-weight fraudulent unknown with a sordid Chicago/Daly past and a group of long time close associates that should make us all shudder, was in fact the willing recipient of a "stolen election", and not unlike a person who sees two unsavory characters fighting to the death; they will not butt-in!

  • @HP

The facts are that the Rev. Wright has been delivering racist messages from the pulpit for the twenty years that Obama has been a member. From all accounts, Obama never stepped up even once to denounce those views. We've all seen the video of the Rev. Pfleger prancing around delivering mysogynistic and racist rants from that same pulpit...scarcely a week ago.

The question still hangs in the air: if Barack Obama so completely disagreed with those messages of hate, why did it take him twenty years to get up and walk out the door...and, without saying a WORD of disagreement while a member.

Call me silly, but, if I'm in a church, or anywhere else, that doesn't reflect accurately my personal views, I'd either stand up and denounce that racism/misogny directly or walk out; it wouldn't take me twenty years to do so, either.

He either agreed with those comments and stayed, disagreed with those comments but did/said nothing or FINALLY read the hand-writing on the wall and fled. I repeat: Barack Obama chose political expediency over principle.

If you don't think that white, Christian, conservatives and moderates of both parties...whom we need to win in November...will have this rammed down their throats by the "SwiftBoat" crowd ad infinitum and ad nauseum, you are on your own planet.

I respect your opinion, HP, but, I think you're wrong on this point.

Typical Obama supporter -- projecting his hopes and aspirations on this "blank slate" of a candidate. Obama is the ultimate hypocrite of a politician. The "change" candidate turns out to be a protege of Wright & co. The "yes we can" candidate turns out to have not done a thing during his years in Chicago and his half-term in the senate. The "unifier" candidate pulls blacks to his side by charging his opponent with racism. His New Liberal Fascist brownshirt supporters blanket the internet with hate against his opponent's supporters and calls to take down editors who do not hew to their views. His New Liberal Fascist supporters in the Media accuse his opponent of "pimping" out their daughter and make calls for someone to take that opponent into a room and kill her. etc., etc., ad nauseam.

Just Say No to Obama Nation.

  • Remember Reagan?

The Republicans sure do. In fact, if they could have his body exhumed they'd proudly put it on display at their convention. And what was HE before running for President? Governor of California and the former President of the Actors Union? Those credentials surely prepared him to occupy the most powerful position in the world.

But he WAS eloquent and inspirational, something our country obviously needed at that moment in our history. I didn't vote for him, but millions of Democrats did.

We're at that crossroad again, and anyone who thinks Obama is just an empty suit needs to not only consider the "Reagan Phenomenon," but also the fact that Obama is a sitting Senator, extremely smart and articulate, and has caused enough sensation with his candidacy to upset the person who was once the annointed Democratic nominee.

We've endured perhaps the most dangerous and embarrasing President in memory for eight years-I think it's time we showed the rest of the world that we get it now. And on the domestic front, we could all use some hope and inspiration.

  • I call BS

KateTex: in that entire time period, there was only one state that Clinton won by a 2:1 margin, that was West Virginia. Yet somehow your calculator determined that when they were all summed together, she won by more than a 2:1 margin. Get your calculator checked.

  • My god...

you people have WAY too much time on your hands. Go get jobs, ALL of you.

I was originally disappointed that KateTex got a red star, but thinking about it, it goes well with the article. Hillary is in an alternate reality, and her supporters omit most of the primary contests in order to invent numbers that show her winning.

Just remember, people, if you vote for McCain, you will be walking out of the booth with blood on your hands.
