I'm just saying.
Look I've read some pretty mean things on any number of sites about both Senator Clinton and Senator Obama. But I've never seen the Secret Service have to intervene with regards to a candidate's life. Something happened there that made them (thankfully) take it VERY seriously. They're the best at this, if they say it's a real threat, it's a REAL THREAT.
With regards to Mr. Johnson himself he has a very interesting, odd history of his own. Ex-CIA officer, former supporter of Bill Clinton, then opponent, and now in his latest incarnation virulently anti-Obama. Makes one wonder.
With regards to the Michelle tape I stand by my statement. First it was supposed to be just her saying something to a friend on tape, then it was her ranting to someone, now it's evolved into a panel with her and Louis Farrakhan at Reverend Wright's church. Look I'll believe it when I see or hear it. But until then, no. And when even people like Geraldo Rivera aren't buying its existence. . . well you gotta wonder. What's FoxNews waiting for?
Weren't you the one who a few months ago was talking about that guy that said he and Obama had sex and did cocaine together back in 2000? Wasn't he supposed to take a lie detector test to prove he wasn't lying? Whatever happened with that? I know you were just helping Obama supporters out by showing how unelectable he was, but now you have another video tape that will be so damaging to Obama's campaign. That no one, conveniently, has ever seen.
Where's the tape? Did Michelle actually rant about whitey (I don't see her doing that) or was it Farakhan? Heck, to be honest, I don't think even Farakhan at this point would rant too much about whitey.
I think it is funny that a self-professed Democrat would actually beleive anything that some unnamed Republican operative has to say. Did you ever stop to think that maybe the myth of the tape is the real smear and not the actual tape?
If it actually exists?
I think that if this blogger wants any sort of credibility, he should do some investigative journalism. If this tape exists, if it's part of some sort of panel discussion (which I would guess must have had something to do with Health since Michelle works in that field) then he should get his ass from out behind his blog and start doing some legwork in Chicago. As his accusation stands now, it is just some he said she said he saw a "horrifying" tape with Michelle Obama saying the word "whitey." Complete and utter hearsay.
I wouldn't beleive this if they said it about John McCain or Hillary Clinton. Heck, I wouldn't even beleive it of George Bush unless I saw him saying it.
Grateful when TUesday is over, long sigh from many of us "normals" and that includes those in this process from BOTH Obama and Clinton camps !!! Honest, the Clintons overplayed and so very WRONGLY played their campaign and it PAINED MANY OF US !!! Now it is but TORTURE, dripping endlessly and damaging the party and the Clintons. Foolish assertions that IF Obama becomes the nominee, ALL Clinton supporters , or a goodly portion plan to boycott Obama and either stay home or vote McCain...uh, GET A REALITY CHECK and decide if one "that" grouping, whether you can really afford to be without a "nose" forevermore !!! You gonna move to McC or just NOT vote and allow a CONTINUATION OF BUSH/CHENEY policies? You willing to have the USSC further STACKED ? Face it, the Clintons, perhaps thru some sort of pompous arrogancy ran a really , REALLY LOUSY CAMPAIGN ...remember, they had the $$$, they had the INEVITIBILITY FACTOR and THEY MISPLAYED IT ALL...The nonsense of asserting how she "deserves" the nomination due to popular vote stats at this juncture is ANOTHER MISPLAY !!! And folks, realize too, the Clintons will NOT serve the process well if attempting to insert themselves into the VP spot as well !!! They have BLOWN that option out as well, and if somehow that "deal" is wonked, it will signal BIZ AS USUAL and the torture of this primary was all for naught !!
A McCain presidency with a Democrat-majority Senate and House will be return to the roots of American Democracy. Balance of Power between the institutions.
An Obama presidency, coupled with his New Liberal Fascist brownshirt supporters willing to take down any cowering Democrat senator or representative standing in their way, will be a Dictatorship.
Just Say No to Obama Nation.
Seriously? Who are you kidding? I'm moderately left, and I see both Obama and Clinton as both fairly centrist with Clinton a little bit right of center. Honestly, the last 20 years of right-wing slant have distorted the hell out of what left actually is.
The most disappointing thing about this extended campaign is that it has acted like chum for the trolls out there and it is almost impossible to have a reasonable discussion on these threads. The republicans know that a large % of their block can't stomach McCain and that as attention grows on him in the coming months, his Bush-esque policy stance will drive away the Independents and strengthen Democratic turn-out. Their only hope is to stir up anger and manufacture a split in the Dems. The media loves a soap-opera, so they'll play along. I feel fairly comfortable saying that among the negative posts here (against either camp) the rhetoric and so forth is straight from Republicans. As are the posters.
Oh, and Shawn? Don't feel singled out. Last week Joan dumped post from a bunch of trolls who slinging some pretty vile, sexist crap around, esp. at AKA Smith. Haven't seen her post since, which is a sad because she could be a lot of fun to debate.
Seriously people, I know we're all frustrated and all of that, but why behave like a total ass the moment you get some anonymity? Lame!
Where are Clinton's voters going to go in November? If Obama supporters keep on trashing her, her voters will either stay at home or vote for McCain. The focus now should be on making sure that Clinton supporters vote Democratic in the fall. And that won't happen if she keeps on getting ridiculed and badmouthed by Obama Democrats.

Agreed, and Obama should do all he should to ensure those votes. Assuming you'll get the vote in the end and thus not working to win it is what killed Gore. But it seems the only thing that will make some if not many Clinton supporters happy is if Hillary is the nominee. Since she isn't going to happen, I don't see how there can be much in the way of compromise.
My two cents: I'm torn between not giving a shit and not giving a fuck about what Hillary supporters decide to do in November. It's a free country, and you can vote (or not) for whomever you want. I would hope that when push came to shove, they would vote Dem to do what's best for their country. If they're really Hillary supporters, then they should recognize that Obama and Clinton are pretty close in terms of policy (both are left or right of each other depending on a few issues), which is why this campaign has devolved into bullshit personality issues that have nothing to do with anything. They would then, perhaps indignantly, vote for Obama, because it would be the better move for the country's long-term health.
If they want to vote for McCain, fine, but that means they support what McCain does. Sure, they'll piss and moan whenever he does something they won't like, which will be frequently, but the bottom line is you are what you do. The people who voted for Bush were FOR Bush's policies, period, because they were enablers in allowing him to implement those policies (especially when they had a chance to end it in 2004). The same will be true for McCain supporters, and they'll have to own it, although if they take the lead of their chosen Dem, anything that happens sure as shit won't be their fault.
(Sorry for the profanity. I'm in a bad mood today.)
