Viva Hillary Clinton!

Although she won Puerto Rico easily, Clinton seemed to be campaigning in an alternate reality, as hopes for the nomination slipped away.

The letters thread is now closed.

Why?

I just gave this some thought, and outside of tradition, there is absolutely no reason to have a primary in some "commonwealth" or territory whose citizens (while technically American) cannot vote in the general election. This goes for Guam and the Virgin Islands. At least, Democrats abroad, who get delegates can vote as residents of the state they may technically still live in.

I guess, there has never been such a close race, but for Puerto Rico to have so many delegates (more than many states and D.C.) is absurd. I read that P.R. actually has two completely independent political parties that are really what residents identify with. Obviously, the former first lady would have an advantage in a US possession far away from normal politics. But, more importantly, iot doesn't matter at all.

I almost feel sorry for this woman

Almost. As a hard-working white American, I should. Don't, though. She is incapabale at the cellular level of speaking the truth. Spin is one thing. But 'the people have spoken' and 'I have won the popular vote' is simply too much, along with all that has preceded it. 'Count all the votes.' Sure thing, Hillary. Let's see ... you got 328,000 in Michigan; Obama, zero. Fidel Castro would be embarrassed at this kind of utter nonsense. Thank God this is the end.

Wow " alternate reality" I love it

In the Hillary alternate reality she won Super Tuesday and Obama gracefully disappeared. The problem with Hill and her supporters is that they can not grasp that this candidate who had everything money, support and was leading in the polls ( Obama was still in the thirties before super Tuesday) has lost everything. That it is a direct result of a poorly run campaign coupled with a play book right out of the Republican Camp. It does not seem to dawn on these people. It is just embarrassing now and it will only shame her more as she grasps for straws. I am very sorry Clinton supporters. no amount of screaming and temper tantrums in front of the cameras will change it. I was an Edwards supporter and would have voted for Hilary had she won ...but she didn't.

Fire Joan Walsh

Send your emails to this guy: chris@salon.com. He's the CEO. Joan's head will roll eventually. We have the power to decide how soon.

Again, if you want Walsh out, write the CEO at chris@salon.com. It's long overdue.

Can we please stop this nonsense?

Clinton is not going to win the nomination.

Obama may or may not win in November.

Those are the facts. Anyone who says otherwise is engaged in rank speculation.

Russian to judgement

I'm white. And a man - so racism and misogyny are moot. Nor am I an Obama voter. And I'm not Russian, either. That's so seventies, dude.

And you're still a twat. And a troll.

Why? Good Question

I agree. Why have citizens vote for a candidate they can't vote for in the general election?

By the same token, why give certain states more delegates just to bribe them to hold their primaries later rather than earlier?

Even better, why do we count votes in states that never and I mean never vote democratic?

I do have a question though. If the primaries in Michigan and Florida weren't valid, how can the votes for US Representative or Senator be valid, or for that matter for ay state office?

Maybe we should disallow all the decision made in those states for all democratic positions. After all Obama backers didn't have any reason to vote then.

Typical SOCIOPATHIC BEHAVIOR

Hillary was once a tried and true Arkansan because she failed her bar exam in DC. Maybe that is where she learned how to speak with a Southern drawl. Of course, after her stint in DC she moved to New York to establish her quest for the Whitehouse. This is a woman will say and do anything because she is a MONSTER. She'll cry, beg, steal, and sip whiskey with proletariats to get elected. It takes a village until you need to look tough for the pro war crowd. Shit, now she is playing the Puerto Rican homey.

How people buy her CRAP is beyond me. I'm telling you, like Godzilla, she'll destroy tokyo- I mean the Democratic party, in her desire for power.

ShawnWM - I refuse to engage in a battle of wits

with an unarmed man.

And you're still a troll.

And a twat.

Do you get paid by the word, or the idea? Hopefully it's the former.

obama lovers live in denial

So you killed the witch. Whoopee! For 16 years we conservatives have been saying about the Clinton's what you Obama nuts are just now realizing. The Clinton's are scum. They defiled the sanctity of the office. While you mad excuses. They are and have been opportunistic pigs who want it all but want the rest of us to accept rations. Wait in line with Canadians and French and English for your health care. In the mean time, you promote and worship Obama with the same reckless abandon you did the Clintons. Even to the detriment of your own party. HE'S WORSE THAN THE CLINTONS!!!! You fools! He's a racist, communist, crack-smoking FAKE!! So dig it and love it. But most of all live with it.

Next Time

Well if this whole Obama/Clinton mess has proved anything is that next time an election rolls around it is time to revert back to only having white guys to pick from. This whole woman/black guy thing has been nothing but trouble.

"HE'S WORSE THAN THE CLINTONS!!!!"

note that Bill Clinton won...twice.

Warning to Salon Community - ShawnWM is a known Troll - do not engage

this thread lacks the racist slurs seen in other threads but

the core goal is the same: inflame hatred between Dems.

Always best to ignore this yapper.

Where do crack smoking allegations come from?

Did Cindy McCain run into a minority at her NA meeting and mistook them for Obama?

It would be good to know she is still doing the steps during this stressful campaign. I'd hate to find out she was embezzling from her own Non-Profit again.

Of course the "Maverick" could just put a loop hole in future legislation allowing senator's spouses immunity from criminal prosection. Kind of like how he made an exception in the legislation barring Senators from paying just First Class fare for private jets that let the planes of spouses or spouses' companies to be used at the First Class. Just a big coinkydink that he ended up benefitting from it last year when his campaign coffers were empty.
