Although she won Puerto Rico easily, Clinton seemed to be campaigning in an alternate reality, as hopes for the nomination slipped away.

    @Patrickvashon

    "We Democrats are a laughing stock to the rest of the world."

    Actually, no. The process may be bewildering, but if it results in an Obama nomination, the rest of the world (to which I belong) is definitely not laughing. It would be hard to exaggerate the hopes that the world (and not just the Gaza strip) is putting in the Obama candidacy. In France where I live Obama has the preference of 2/3 of people, and that's despite Hillary's enormous name recognition advantage and the enduring popularity of her husband.

    Rather than laugh, we are left wondering why our own nomination systems are incapable of selecting candidates who are not just competent, but also inspirational.
