She's in it to spin it

Hillary Clinton's goal is to come out of the primaries with a popular-vote lead over Barack Obama. Any questions?

    The Problem With Hillary

I'm really tired of having to say this. I'm tired of this whole damned nominating process. I've nearly lost my oldest friend over this issue, for one thing. And I'm sure my blood pressure has gone up a few points, too.

I'm not particularly an Obama supporter, although he'll have my vote in November. But I oppose Hillary, strongly.

Why? It's not because she's a woman. It's because of these votes:

    The Iraq war authorization.

    The Patriot Act.

    The bankruptcy bill.

    The Iran "terrorist" bill.

In each case she sided with the Republicans, with George W. Bush, and against the Democratic party - not to mention the interests of the people of the United States of America! The bankruptcy bill alone has done more harm to the poor, middle class, and working class people of America than many a war. It was a huge gift to the credit card industry from the credit card industry, purchased via massive campaign donations and endless lobbying.

I don't believe that Hillary's stupid, so I can only conclude that she has betrayed her party so often out of cynicism, greed, and contempt for the intelligence of the public. She apparently thinks we're too stupid to notice that she's betrayed our interests again and again.

The Iran "terrorist" vote in particular reveals an utter lack of character in Senator Clinton. She eventually claimed that her vote on the Iraq war authorization was a mistake. That brilliant George W. Bush tricked her into giving him Imperial war-making powers. So why didn't she learn from her mistake? Her Iran vote gave Bush and Cheney license to entangle us in yet ANOTHER deadly, endless war with huge profit potential for Halliburton and other Republican party supporters.

She's not stupid, so why did she make that vote? I can only guess that she calculated that a "no" vote would have been used against her in the Presidential election. She was willing to spend the lives of American soldiers and our national honor just to further her own personal ambition.

We don't need another conscienceless sociopath in the White House.

To repeat: it's not her vagina. It's her votes. Her votes have hurt women in this country enormously. And by tacitly encouraging her supporters to support John McCain if she loses the nomination, she is poised to hurt American women even more. Because just what do you think a McCain Presidency will do to the Supreme Court?

I'm a feminist, and that's a large part of the reason that I oppose Hillary Clinton.
