It does a good breakdown on what we're talking about vis-a-vis voting trends, and explains how (some) of his weaknesses could be offset with younger and Latino voters (many of whom are young.)
But let me be frank and honest: If you think things are going to stay the same, then yes Hillary is more electable. Not by a lot, not by as much as some would have us think, but yes slightly more electable just based on the 2004 map.
Also Obama maintains that serious OH/PA/FL problem. But other than that it's just not as hard for him as some would have you believe. And that's hardly enough to make him unelectable.
You aren't just droppin' colorful confetti! That was an inspired masterpiece, keep on writing, and increase the peace.
Proud TexasGirl and ShawnWM, you are both a real treat. I love the name calling. Is it satire? When I consider Clinton supporters, I prefer to think of a close friend who has contributed to HRC and has championed HRC's efforts from the get go. She and I can discuss our preferred candidates without vitriol. It is hard to believe you two value your personal feelings of outrage over the good of the party and our country. Obama and Clinton share many of the same policy positions and either one are better than McCain. I am relieved that my circle of friends includes enough Clinton fans to know that your immature, ugly and cartoonish attitudes are not typical of the Clinton supporters I know and love. Try to be grownup about this, however it ends.
Mainly due to the sheer stupidity of the Hillary supporters that call Obama an "Empty shirt" and like to blame the black vote for you know, excercising their rights and voting for the candidate they happen to prefer...
Off and on topic butJust what I take from a lot of Hillary's supporters' arguments
If Hillary really could take McCain at all this election hasn't demonstrated as much. If she could have taken McCain she hasn't demonstrated it here. She couldn't beat someone who, if you believe her supporters, is a political lightweight whose main asset is the colour of his skin.
She couldn't get the press on her side when Rupert Murdoch, one of the biggest players in the media, one of the guys who is getting frighteningly close to owning a media monopoly, was one of the people raising funds for her. If there was going to be a bias it was going to be on her side, but she kept on letting slip the precise sorts of comments and errors that the shallow American media finds so entertaining.
And remember, the first votes she lost? Not the black vote. The young educated vote. What we saw in her was long before race even became an issue here - we saw someone who was more passionate about the impact of people fucking in computer games than the impact of people dying in the real world.
And lets face facts here - if you are studying or have a degree there is a far greater chance of you not being a dummy than if you are a highschool dropout. You might call that elitism, but then I call equating white and uneducated with hard working racism.
So please tell me, without resorting to "Obama suksors" or grade school taunts what makes you think she is the candidate who can win?

As I read the scribblings and mindless meanderings of the various Obama trolls above, I would be remiss if I didn't repeat the obvious: by denigrating the candidate who I and about 50% of the electorate has chosen to support...Hillary Clinton...how can you people hope to entice and encourage us to support Barack Obama with any enthusiasm, if at all?
Do you really think that we will fall in line behind your candidate simply because you say so? I can understand that you support your candidate; I can't understand, though, why you are so nasty and use such vulgar language about Hillary Clinton when you do so.
You need the approximate one-half of Democrats and Independents who voted for someone other than Senator Obama to win; dissing and damning those of us who haven't voted for him isn't the way to win us over to your cause.
Our choices? (1) Hold our noses and vote for Obama, (2) vote for McCain out of protest or, (3) not vote at all, see Obama lose and try again in 2012...probably with Hillary Clinton. Those choices depend on how you treat us. Consider this fair warning...
(Notice that I had nothing bad to say about Senator Obama in this post; its his supporters who generally are a p.i.t.a.)
Too bad the trolls are getting shriller... it used to be fun when it was somewhat tough to suss em' out... now it's fish in a barrel time since the game has been called... and they know they have a terrible hand.
It does drag down the whole level of discussion. That's too bad. There's a lot of smart people posting and I generally enjoy reading... I guess I should revel in the smell of fear and desperation wafting up off of the Troll-posts.
Where's the good analysis article on Trolls in Salon? This would be a fun topic no? How some are paid operatives... the Rush effect... how to spot a troll... Hutman a few pages back was a fun read... I'd like to get some Trolls on the record! They could be Anonymous! "MY life as a blog-troll"... I'd read it!
Then you get the real poster pretending to be a troll and exaggerating his trolliness to make fun of him. It's like Windows itself... frames within frames... on and on... How about a REAL Troll... going over the top... to pose as a real poster making fun of a Troll? And then there could be...
So you want to blackmail America into being nice to you?
And you see this as being non-contemptable how?
