It's Tough to get a Siren/Harpie/Muse/Gorgon Down
Walter, Death, sure. Dignity?, not hardly! Listening to Obama's classy recognition of Clinton's "win" in Indiana, and then trying to inspire Party unity, was a far, far cry from the railing and whining of the as-yet-untamed shrew. It would have been nice if some of Bill's ability to use gentle humor (at least, back when he wasn't busily destroying his legacy to help push the little lady along)had been adopted by Hillary and her flacks. But the "I can still win because something bad will show up and hurt my opponent" deserves heaping doses of contempt. How folks run campaigns isn't the worst way to judge how they might act in the "real" job: it surely proved true with the current Administration. It disqualifies her from having a place -- even second place -- on the Democratic ticket. Let's let her use her "capital" (as W thought) as a junior Senator.

Shapiro, you are such a man...
Anyone with a brain knows Obama didn't put his name on the Michigan ballot because he was way behind in Michigan at the time. Now he wants a 69/59 split...oh that's nice. (he is losing to McCain there today -- while Clinton beats him there and in Florida and Ohio -- all states Obama is losing to McCain as of today...www.electoral-vote.com)
What I can't understand is why not do it...count all Florida and Michigan popular vote and delegates the way they voted...Obama still wins...so what is the problem? It counts all votes, makes Clinton supporters happy -- the results are not a "farce" or disenfranchising two states Obama needs in November...and he still comes out ahead. What is the problem? Everyone ends up happy and Clinton cannot say that votes weren't counted...she will have to say that it is fair and all will calm down.
Also, another weird thing to me is, Obama has won, all of his supporters and his campaign say it and so does everyone else. Clinton knows it and we all know she knows it...so let people vote for a few more weeks and let her finish. You want to stop the first female candidate to ever have such prominence in the political arena from fighting a truly difficult campaign, making it this far with roughly half the democratic support in the friggin' country from finishing the last six primaries? "Dignity" is finishing the course and letting her supporters speak...you, Shapiro, well...
Shapiro, you are such a man.

If these are the retards who choose our leaders....we are soooo screwed
Like most people in Mingo County, West Virginia, Leonard Simpson is a lifelong Democrat. But given a choice between Barack Obama and John McCain in November, the 67-year-old retired coalminer would vote Republican.</>
"I heard that Obama is a Muslim and his wife's an atheist," said Mr Simpson , drawing on a cigarette outside the fire station in Williamson, a coalmining town of 3,400 people surrounded by lush wooded hillsides.
Mr Simpson's remarks help explain why Mr Obama is trailing Hillary Clinton, his Democratic rival, by 40 percentage points ahead of Tuesday's primary election in the heavily white and rural state
Yes, that is the words of the "white hard working lunch-box democrat (btw: I'm a soldier (enlisted) and "white" from New Jersey, so spare me the elitist crap...Ya, I know...I read books, so I must be an elitist "egg head" yadda yadda).
But come on...This is Clinton's base? Heck, This is a democrat!?! You people are supposed to be the smarter party....crap, this country must have a lot of lead in its water. If these are the people that pols must pander to, We are screwed!

oh, just calm down
We have a long time until the general election. As "the optimist" I believe that wounds will be licked and healed and those who profess that they will not vote for the democrat, if he/she were not their first choice, will come around when the reality of having another 4 (or 8) years of Bush policy, and vote democrat. Of course I do not include in this formula the Republican moles in this thread.....whose posts I do not read.

hard of hearing?
Didn't you hear what she said: 'It isn't over until the lady in the pantsuit says it is.' You'll just have to grin and bear it even though you hate her so very very much.

toothbrush
the toothbrush was invented in West Virginnie. Had it been invented elsewhere, it would have been the teethbrush. Bad water and generations of inbreeding, and that's what ya get.

@jeffersonian
Many of your remarks on this site reek of elitism and snobbery. They are hardly the words of a progressive; they're much closer to that of a hater. Don't think the very Clinton supporters who are the targets of your scorn aren't aware of the fact that Obama attracts many supporters who speak like you. You're one of the reasons his candidacy will fail - and rightly so.
I've been wondering for some time now why you chose the screen name you have, since Thomas Jefferson would certainly condemn the likes of you.
