If she hasn't already quit, it's hard to envision Clinton continuing her unwinnable -- even with Florida and Michigan -- battle beyond June 4.

  • Her Supporters

I meant her supporters won't want to wind up with that legacy. Has anyone seen any loose brain cells around here?

  • @ajcalhoun - a real party putscher

Some of us are wondering when you lot will start handing out jackboots to go with the speeches. Must be some left over somewhere. Germany? Austria? Italy, maybe (such craftsmanship)?

  • Dear Proud TexasGirl

We have our differences. I'm sure they don't end at Obama vs. Clinton. Be that as it may. I'm not about to try to reason with you, and have never hoped to convert you (or anyone else). All that being said, I do have to ask you about one thing you said in your opening post here. You said: "...the finest candidate ever in the history of America--Mrs. Hillary Clinton."

Having had some time to think, would you honestly rank Hillary Clinton above George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Dwight Eisenhower, John Kennedy, Thomas Jefferson, John Adams and Bill Clinton? Seriously? Because if you can make that statement with a straight face, well...the thing really does speak for itself, doesn't it?

  • Kate Tex

First of all, thanks for the left-handed compliment. However, I think you can probably lay any credit (and I find it hard to believe, even after the sarcasm is considered) at the feet of Albert Pike.

As usual without a clue, I fail to understand how you get to the Nazi/facist comparisons, but it certainly does say something about you -- something extremely invidious and extremely ugly. For that and for that alone I'd shun you like the plague in real life, but since that's not a issue, I'll just do the virtual equivalent.

  • AJ, please don't encourage the trolls

They aren't interested in reasoned conversation. They aren't even hoping for a Democratic win. I wish everyone would ignore them.

  • @Christopher1988

    Consider it done.

  • To you Hillary supporters

I salute you. You stuck with her.

But, barring an asteroid, it is over. I like to think if it had gone the other way we Obama supporters would be sad, but not vicious.

The real enemy is the Republican policies, and their continued rein of ruin on this country.

If you cannot get over your disappointment about Hillary losing, then, please, do not trash Obama. It does nothing but help McCain. And it does Hillary no good down the road.

Hillary will recover. She will support Obama, as he would have her if he lost. I hope you can do the same.

  • @ProudTexasGirl

Is impossible as America, or at least Democrats, have chosen to embrace an arrogant empty shirt racist lying hypocrite and has shat upon the finest candidate ever in the history of America--Mrs. Hillary Clinton.

I take a bit of issue with this. Do you really want to lump ME in with the obnoxious idiots that in a fit of illiterate emotion destroyed their best chances for retaking the whitehouse? How about Govenor Ed Rendell,Ted Strickland, Gov. Easley or Senator Evan Bayh who worked tirelessly for Mrs. Clinton. Do you really want to lump THEM in with washed up drunks like Teddy Kennedy and flaming idiots like Kathleen Seblius and losers like John Kerry? None of them are likely to get re-elected and that's good enough for me. How about Asian and hispanic Democratic voters that supported Hillary with 75% margins or more? Blue collar workers who gave her 65-70%?

It's not the Democrats. It's the neo-lefties and the AA's.

In the meanwhile let's at least give credit to the majority of Democrats that didn't fall for the race-baiting, pocket-linging, Resko-loving Empty Suit.

I will not drink the kool aid, nor will stare blindly at a naked emperor pretending to see clothing. Instead, I will, with as much dignity as an American can have these days, watch the news and laugh when I want to cry as the media finally meets Barack Hussein Obama.

I can't blame you here. My guess is within 2 weeks after the Democratic nomination it will be obvious even to the nut left that Nobama is toast. I can only say I intend to go through a LOT of popcorn. It's not much consolation.. but it's nice to see people reap what they sow.

I will then pray that in 2012 Hillary Clinton runs for President, again, and we have the decorum and common sense to vote for her.

Unlikely. Barring Pluto beaming them back to their homeland, there's just no reason to hold hope left will ever do anything other than what they've done for 40 years: do their best to shove a candidate entirely unacceptable to mainstream American on the Democratic Party. (and then whine about the rightwing having control of everything).

Besides, after the GOP sweeps the Presidency, Congress, State Governments AND has all nine rightwing SCOTUS justices; they'll certainly finishing sueing and penalizing the last of the labor unions and Democratic fundraisers out of existance and finish the gerry-mandering they'd almost completed.

I don't mean to be negative but I just don't want to get your or anyones hopes up. Thanks to Obama's Ego and his selfish, racist supporters, the Democratic party is finally good as RIP with NO hope of resurrection.

  • Florida & Michigan

Depriving the supers of FL and MI of their votes at the convention seems like a sensible solution to a thorny problem. It punishes the people in charge of breaking the party rules without disenfranchising the popular vote.

There remains the problem of how you divvy up the pledged delegates fairly but some deal like the %69/59 split (probably more compromise needed in terms of numbers there) could work.

And since I missed the Veep Stakes discussion by a couple of days - and it is still relevant here- I'm really loving the idea of Obama running with Kathleen Sebelius. Don't you think she is someone Clinton could get behind while saving face? A woman with a lot to bring to the ticket - western state- two term governor who has the exec experiences both senators lack.

Her endorsement speech is interesting for the perspective it brings (she was convinced by her sons). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1nHp90Z2NJk

They seem temperamentally simpatico and though its only quick hug seem to have a chemistry I can't see developing between Obama and Clinton if they shared a ticket after the rancorous primary.
