If she hasn't already quit, it's hard to envision Clinton continuing her unwinnable -- even with Florida and Michigan -- battle beyond June 4.

  • No dignity from the DLC

The DLC, which stands for keeping Democrats from being a progressive alternative to the GOP, is fighting like a wounded animal to retain its relevance. That fight will not end with the primary; their objective is to prove that Democrats cannot win the general election without adopting the DLC's "centrist" formula for success. I expect that much of the Dem party will give the Obama campaign a cold shoulder all the way to November.

  • She voted for the war

So why should anybody vote for her? How would she run against McCain? "I'll bomb Iran into more oblivion than he will"? She deserves to lose. I don't love Obama, but at least he represents something of an antiwar choice. She just represent more death and destruction, followed by economic ruin.

  • Hillary

Quit draggin' your ass, your time for self righteous braggin's over, and folks are tired of all your smirky assed sass.

  • Count this, don't count that...

Wow. I'm happy to count Michigan, too, if you'd like. It seems perfectly reasonable to me to count Florida where both candidates were on the ballot and neither actively campaigned, and not count Michigan where only she was on the ballot, in determining who "wins" the polular vote. But we can count Michigan too.

So, if, after the last primary, Hillary is ahead in the popular vote but Barack gets the nomination and wins the presidency, we'll have had 2 presidents in a row NOT elected by the will of the people. How can that be OK? This is exactly what superdelegates are for. For righting the ship when a candidate loses the polular vote and loses in the states most needed to win the general election and whose standing in the polls against the Republican candidate ain't so good.

And why shouldn't Hillary focus on Barack's negatives in the next few weeks? Because if she doesn't, the Republicants won't? Get real. Her job is to tell the remaining primary voters and superdelegates why she's a better candidate than he is. That means raising his negatives where it's relevant.

  • To KateTex

I'M NEITHER AN OBAM ASTAFFER OR A NEOCON TROLL. I'm a registered Democrat from Mew York who has followed Hillary's lack of accomplishments closely since she has been in the Senate. First of all, she doesn't represent New York, she represents herself only. She sold New Yorkers a bill of goods when she ran but not I. She promised revitalization of upstate New york with jobs and opportunities and she has none of the that. She has been a lackluster senator because she was so busy as... kissing the republicans. Her accomplishments have been putting new names on old postoffices and building a monument in PR. If you go to her web site you will see that all she does is put her name on other senator' bill. SHE'S A FRAUD AND A DISGRACE TO WOMEN AND NO ROLE MODEL FOR OUR DAUGHTERS!!!!!

I was pretty infuriated by Calgadot's post. I thought about responding, but then what good would it do? So I have to ask, why did you respond to him/her?

Also, if you read my posts, you know I didn't vote for Obama in the primary. I also think he faces an uphill battle in the general (see the LA Times yesterday for a great article about this). But, with the prospect of McCain appointing Scalia- and Alito-like justices, I just can't see why anyone who understands the danger of more Scalias would vote against Obama in the general.

I know you are an Independent, but seriously: Isn't the Supreme Court important enough to vote for Obama even if you're not crazy about him? I've done this several times in my life (e.g., Kerry, Dukakis). Really, it's not that hard when you consider the greater good.

    Cheers.

  • For manos

The one we've been waiting for is Barack Dukakis

Too bad Clintonites for McCain will cock block us.

  • SHE IS TREACHEROUS

"She's not that treacherous, is she?"

SHE SHOULD TAKE A WALK OUT ON THE TUNDRA AND GET OUT OF OUR LIVES !!!!!

  • SHALLOW POLITICAL THOUGHT OF THE DAY

"If Hillary does now win I am voting republican."

This demonstrates that you are only interested in personality. If you agree with Hillary, you agree with Barak. The fact that you won't vote for him only tells me you are voting based on the shallowest political thought possible and are willing to spitefully vote against your own interests because of a personal issue.

Personally I'd have held my nose and voted for Clinton, no matter how distasteful it was to me, because I CARE ABOUT ISSUES.

  • It won't matter but

Quit arguing with people who say they will vote for McCain if Hillary doesn't get the nod.

They are either Republicans trolling to make us scratch each other's eyes out, or they TRULY believe and want to do what they are saying they will do. They are willing (for whatever reason) to vote against their own interests. Its like trying to convince a suicide bomber who is strapped up and ready to detonate that his religion is false and that he doesn't have to detonate himself. It cannot be done. They are invested and that's that.

So let them go. Encourage them to vote fro McCain. Wish them well. You cannot and will not change their minds. It doesn't matter anyway.

  • MI votes?

Why would they spit in MI 60/59. Hillary only got 55 % of votes cast. 45% were undecided and Hilary was the only cadidate on the ballot. If Obama played by the rules and if had been on the ballot he would have won in MI. Hillary did not care about MI & Fl before Super Tuesday. She thought she was going to have a blow out win then. Now that she is loosing she is scrambling for votes. There is no big voter outcry in either MI or Fl only party insiders who are Hillary supporters. There only interest is their power base within the party.

  • American Democracy?

The solution is for for Florida and Michigan to be counted or a re-vote done without delay! If these two states aren't allowed to exercise their right to vote, to insure that a particular candidate be elected, it will undermine the very fabric that is AMERICA!

How will this great country ever claim to hold Democratic ideals and be a beacon of hope for other countries when our own citizens can't have their votes counted and not allowed to re-vote. What is Dean and Pelosi so Afraid of?

So, the suffrage continue, but now it has captured the citizens of two states and their constitutional rights have been abridged to protect one candidate. That legacy will wear heavy in years to come and the party will loose its integrity in the process by not doing the just and right thing by the citizens of this country.
