If you were so worried about the appointments, this seems like a hell of an inopportune time to speak up. The damage is simply done.
I prefer to look forward, Shawn, not back. After NC, it's pretty clear that it would take a major deal-breaker for Obama not to win the nomination. I've said all along that both of the Democratic frontrunners were vexing in their own ways, but the point is that one of them is clearly on his way to winning the nomination. Like I would be if Clinton were the nominee, I am asking everyone to see the importance of the Supreme Court nominations as a reason to vote Democratic in November.
A "protest" vote that would sanction more Scalias and Alitos is NOT a vote for the common good or the future of our country.
