The Michelle Obama Baggage

Latest pieces on her bitterness and unfitness for the future first lady:

http://www.theabsurdreport.com/2008/are-we-getting-two-for-one-is-michelle-obama-responsible-for-the-jeremiah-wright-fiasco/

His wife's bitter remarks will come back and bite him in the ass in the fall. Imagine the Reps issue a political ad of clips of her first-time-being-proud-in-her adult-life footage side by side with Rev. Wright's God-damn-America and undying respect for Farrakhan's footage, and the later's if-God-wants-it-Jews-will-remain-in-the-ovens warning.

Think hard people, I personally love Obama but the people round him are dubious and these are a huge baggage for someone running for President. I don't believe white Americans are willing to elect a half-black president whose wife and pastor has a very bleak view of America and its people.

Thanks, Civility

I’d like to add that I wish that reporters and commentators would ask substantial questions rather than pose moronic hypotheticals all the time. No one knows what the impact of a prolonged primary will be and everyone is sick of hearing you talk about it—it’s just lazy and self-indulgent. Do you have to abandon all policy questions because the primary process is taking longer than expected? Can you at least try to steer the public towards a discussion of who would make the better president that doesn’t boil down to identity politics? And if you think that the campaigns are uncovering complexities around issues of race/class/gender how about you just talk about these issues instead of using them as an excuse to engage in some weird exchange of jabs between the Clinton and Obama supporters on your staff? Your level of analysis is becoming an embarrassment.

Democrats unite ! For a change !

It is time for Senator Clinton to look past her overweening ambition, and consider the party and what must be done to wrest the White House from the incompetent hands of the Republicans. A reality check would tell her she has lost this battle. If Clinton continues to snipe at Senator Obama, she contributes to the widely held view that the Democratic party consists of constantly feuding, disparate factions. As Obama tries to erase that image of the party, and at the same time present himself as a unifying force in national politics, she is undermining his message. Her message seems to be more reactionary as it becomes more strident, and it becomes clear that a Clinton administration means more of the same corporate capitalism. She says her support among white men and older women shows only she can win in November, but many of these voters say that if Obama is nominated they will vote for McCain.

Meanwhile McCain is running a campaign featuring statements, that appear to be uttered while he is in the midst of some "senior moments". An good example is his declaration that the economic downturn is psychological. Run out the primaries if we must, but turn the focus to his really disturbing campaign.

There are any number of posters on despair.com which could reasonably be adopted by the Clinton campaign, but this one seems to be particularly appropriate:

Give Up

At some point, hanging in there just makes you look like an even bigger loser.

@dumbtexasslut

"I'm sorry, but I will need a tad bit more than protecting men's right to enter my vagina with no repurcusions as reason alone to vote for a sworn enemy to America and a BIG OLE ASSHOLE."

Honey, you are in no danger. After reading your bilious hysterical screeds, I cannot imagine anyone interested in entering your floppy ol' vagina. Ewwwww....

As usual, pot calls kettle

"And all his hoopla with Jeremiah Wright and association to Farrakhan, Rezko, et al...this will be played over and over come November. It won't matter to more liberal people like me, but centrist white Americans won't find this very appealing at all. He's got more baggage than Hillary. I hope people will just stop for a minute and think."

For every one of these problems, Hillary has it 10 times worse. She has the baggage, and is unelectable.

It's time to quit

It's time for HIllary to quit. She cannot win. She squandered a huge lead, huge money, and huge good will. If she goes on, she makes it worse. She needs to stop.

More importantly, she needs to do the work correcting the huge problems that she has created. Her statement that she and McCain had passed the "leadership" threshold was terrible. She needs to fix that. She needs to mend fences with the AA community.

We who support Obama will remember. It is up to her. Will she EVER go anywhere again? Can she even win in NY again?

Hillary is a trooper

I commend Hillary Clinton for her bravery and stamina in continuing her campaign. She has been supject to continual smears, lies, insults from an antagonistic media and from the legion of Hillary haters on the Internet (see diary comments on DailyKos for example.) Yet despite these brickbats, I believe she can win the General Election against McCain wheras Obama, although a very good and intelligent man, is vulnerable. On the one hand, many voters are attracted to Obama's hope, idealism, and desire for change but on the other hand, they are nervous about how he will put this into practice, how strong he will be on foreign policy, etc.

Also, I want to say that ProudTexasGirl does not represent Hillary supporters or even feminists and appears to be just someone who delights in making trouble.

Obama Has More Baggage Than Hillary

I never understand the irrational zeal of Hillary's haters. So she is ambitious, "conniving," pandering...you name it...but so is every politician on earth. You need to be all that to be a politician and be successful at that. Look at Obama, he barely entered the senate and he already run for president? What is that if not overly ambitious? Hillary at least waited one term!

It's because she is a woman! If she was a man, none of the traits above would matter. From their speeches, it's obvious Hillary is the better candidate who's on top of issues. She's got the clearest policy. She's done her homework while paving her path to the White House. Obama needs to do just that instead of trying to run full speed to the White House while he can't even walk yet, his feel-good speeches won't turn things around. People are caught up in the concept of a first black, young, youthful president with fresh idealism. Fine, but we need more...much more...than that!!

I am worried about Michelle Obama too. I have only lived in this country for 3 years, and even I was offended by her bitter remark in February that it was her first time that she was really proud of her country. What an irony!! This is the country and the people that allow her and her husband to be where they are now, and yet all she's got about this country and people all these years until that day was contempt??? I understand where she comes from being black in this country but she obviously has a chip on her shoulder and do you want this woman to be the future first lady? Do you think the Reps won't shred them into pieces over this come the Fall?

Read this African American's article on her, even he thinks she is "an angry black harridan."
