  • @Air Force Vet

Hillary as Obama's running mate would be no odder than LBJ running with JFK.

To say what's already been said a different way, maybe you never read MacBird?

Seriously, Shawn, I love love love reading your comments. Keep it up. After all... those darn black folk! Forcing us to have a presidential candidate that we didn't want. If only there was something us average white people could do to stop them! ...If only we were the majority... or had any political power...

But no. Those darn black folk, in combination with wussy effete intellectuals, have crammed down our throats a presidential candidate who no one else wanted. My god, what could a renegade political underdog like Hillary Clinton have ever done against the AWESOME POLITICAL POWER of black people and wussy intellectuals. They're the most powerful voting block in the U.S.! Everyone knows that.

There is no hope left for middle-class white voters. They are disenfranchised and doomed. Doooomed now, I tells ya!

Seriously, though, Shawn. I love you and you are awesome.

    - To say what's already been said a different way, maybe you never read MacBird?

I had not, but after one quick google I am resolved that I must track down a copy, so thanks for the tip.

Though unless one subscribes to the Vincent Foster murder meme, I don't expect a Clinton Vice Presidency to provide fodder for a MacBird Part II.

  • Hillary Clinton is a monster...

...the kind that you have to kill two or three times at the end of the movie.

The media, like the polite grand nephew, is pretending to act like his crazy aunt's dementia is perfectly normal and nothing is the matter. And if the media does it, we all have to do it too I guess. Afterall, she's a lady and we have to be delicate with her, right?

It says something to me that few politicians have the balls to stand-up to the Clintons and tell them to get out. But that won't stop me from branding the super cowards the all new super duper pooper scooper cowards. These fuckers are still going to stand by and watch this farce play itself out?

The media needs to indentify each and every super duper pooper scooper coward so that we the people know their names. That way, anytime I see one of them walking by, I will be sure to throw still warm dog shit wrapped in a used plastic grocery bag at them. I ask all readers to do the same. We cannot allow these spineless and calculating individuals to hide in the shadows any longer.

  • "...a difficult-to-intellectually-defend gasoline-tax holiday?"

Salon is "difficult-to-intellectually-defend!" The gas tax holiday was a political swindle.

  • Left's True Colors

    Who writes your headlines?

I am completely disgusted by the left. Over the last months, on site after site, I have read the vilest, most vulgar, hateful, sexist comments by bloggers and the commenters. Things people should be ashamed to have their mothers read. But then apparently, where Hillary is concerned, anything is fair.

It seems Hillary's main crime is that she did not step aside when a man wanted the job she was "interviewing" for. That's what all the screaming has been about. "She's lost, she's lost!" "Who cares if she's won another state!" "How dare she run against Obama!"

If Obama is the nominee, as seems likely, I'll vote for him in November because this country can't take four more years with a Republican in the White House. But I don't trust him or his supporters. And I won't forget that way too many people in the country think a woman's proper place is on her knees.

I thought Gloria Steinem's comment last year was over the top, but she was right. I cannot believe how much they hate us. The proof is on every blog, left or right.

  • Whatshername just losing is no longer enough

She has to stay until the bitter end to make sure that she is completely humiliated and destroyed, never to return.

If she concedes now, she can maintain a few last shreds of dignity - enough to spend the next five months stabbing Obama in the back and getting McBush (re)elected.

Defeat is nowhere near enough. Break out the wooden stakes and silver bullets, dems - she's is not dead yet.

  • Shawn - only 7 more letters to 600

600 pro-Hillary letters in 9 months- if you are not of the payroll, you should be.

    Troll.

  • Factually incorrect

this has been a tough race. Obama nuts kept chanting for her to drop out ......while whining like little girls they would vote for McCain if she won. While most who backed Clinton have stated they would back whom ever took the nomination.

The Pennsylvania exit polls suggest that you're wrong. But don't let the facts get in the way of a good hateful rant!

  • One word:

    NADER!

  • Hillary and the presidency

Bill must not return to power. Hence Hillary must be eliminated.

  • @Laurelei

Why is it that if I don't think Hillary is the right person for the job, it has to be because she's a woman?

Personally, I would vote for the right woman. I just won't vote for a power hungry, self-serving, dishonest, crazy woman.

  • I beg to differ

I thought Gloria Steinem's comment last year was over the top, but she was right. I cannot believe how much they hate us. The proof is on every blog, left or right.

Instead of detailing a long response, let me frame the question in a different way; were the labor unions who despised Margaret Thatcher anti-feminist? Certainly there are some trolls in the blogosphere that will say anything to get a rise, but they're not representative of reality. A lot of people, women and men alike, found Clinton's candidacy distasteful for myriad reasons: the Iraq war, hubris, initiating the negative assault, alienating black voters, populism and the associated hypocrisy over elitism. Never mind the most recent pandering over an economically and practically unfeasible gas tax holiday. Ignore these issues at your own peril.

  • "They" don't hate "Us"

I understand your disgust at the many misogynist comments about Hillary Clinton, but I'm wondering why it is that you are able to filter out the racist comments about Obama. I'm a white woman and I certainly have not.

Remember, you vote for a candidate, not his or her supporters. I've heard women accuse Obama of rank sexism but so far I haven't been convinced by the evidence presented.

Losers are everywhere. Ignore them, and comfort yourself with the knowledge that they haven't EVER seen a woman naked without paying for it.
