Breaking the Democratic deadlock

If Obama wants to secure the nomination next week, he'll need to recapture the working-class voters who helped him rout Clinton in Wisconsin.

The letters thread is now closed.

I don't care what Salon says anymore. I'm done reading it.

I'm not even angry, at this point. I'm just done with the slanted coverage and the faux balance (which can also be called faux integrity). It isn't even provocative anymore, merely predictable. Not worthy of my time.

Obama's in the tank

No thanks to his former Rev., there is no way Obie will take the working class voters in any states now. There is too much of a negative drumbeat against him, and too much distrust.

As for the Ds, their only hope now is to have both these stars on the same ticket. It's either that, or kiss the November election goodbye.

You've said you were leaving three times already, Christopher1988

So go! (Down the can with your candidate!)

No one can justify Obama's record

Barack Obama, Ladies and Gentlemen...

- Voted in favor of the 2005 Energy Policy Act which had huge giveaways, tax breaks, subsidies to the oil companies. Clinton and even McCain (!) voted against this environmntal disaster and taxpayer rip-off.

- Voted to approve Condaleeza Rice for Secretary of State of United States of America. No comment needed here.

- Obama has said that he wants to keep 150,000 private soldiers in Iraq as part of his "end the war" strategy. This includes 60,000 active U.S soldiers to carry out missions against al-Qeda. No, he will not end the war. Not even close. Want to know why not? Read below...

- Voted to re-authorize the Patriot Act. Great call, Mr. Constutional Scholar.

- Voted with Republicans for billions in military apropriations and served the defense contractors in the process. He's right, he really does reach out to Republicans.

- Defense contractors have contributed more to his camapign than even -- get this -- John McCain. Do you think he will not serve them when he's in the White House? I guess this explains the curious Iraq war strategy.

- Voted against updating the Mining Law of 1872, which allows mining companies to pay little to no royalties to mine on public land. Mr. Renewable Energy said that it would be too hard on mining companies who are currently strip mining and removing mountain tops in the Amercian countryside and geting a free ride in the process. Poor mining companies.

Why, exactly are liberals so enamored with Barack Obama? Please tell me. This is a candidate whose contributor rolls are packed with lobbyists and rapacious Wall Street types. His campaign even holds fundraisers at the homes of oil company executes.

Why, exactly, is he so liberal? How is he going to be such a reformer? He is not a new kind of politician, he's the worst of the old kind -- a silver tongued demagogue who projects one image and then votes the other way.

People (like me) are starting to support Clinton not because we are scared into it by her "scorched earth" Karl Rove tactics, not becuase we're just unenlightened, dumb hicks who are being fooled, not becasue we're Repubicans and not becuase we put too much emphasis on the Obama's ethniity or his pastor. It's because we are starting to discover a little too much hypocrisy and pandering by a candidate who styles himself as above-it-all. Yes, Clinton's made a bunch of mistakes (the Iraq war being the most glaring). But she;s done great work for the State of New York and yes, she does have experience and a graps of how things work. I'll takle her record and avility to get shiot done and her experience tackling the right wing machine over some rookie who's twisted himslef in contradictions in only one year as a junior senator. I know Clinton's an operator but she's got a record of brngin home the bacon for New York and she's smart, tireless, her policies are better formed and she's got more command of the issues. Obama, meanwhile is coming accross as a grade A con man who everybody feels they have to coddle nd protect. A lot of us, like those in Pennsylvania and Indiana and Ohio are changing our minds because we got smarter and did our homework. Suggest you do the same.

Go ahead flame me and blame Clinton for ruining everything. Heard it before.

Don't try and reason with them, Dubmanny

They have found their sacred god, and they will go to hell with him. Thank goodness the Dems are such witless voters. A safe white male candidate (like Gore or Edwards) would win this year in a landslide. Instead, they want to make history with an inexperienced radical like Obama or a flawed hack like Clinton. Good luck, suckers!

Hi TRenee, i come here for one reason only - positive vibes about Obama

so i have to scroll down a lot and skip. but i don't care. it seemed like a really long shot when he first started and i'm amazed he got this far. like michelle i'm really proud of america. but i can understand as it gets closer to happening, some folks are getting really scared and crazy and the ones for Obama are also getting nervous.
i'm not going to pretend wonderful motives - i'm like your mom. i have three biracial kids and i remember, only a decade or so ago, biracial kids would go on Oprah weeping over Their Tragic Lives. then came Tiger Woods and now Obama. i would have been for him just for that - keeping my kids off Oprah!. but he's so SMART! and he never LOOKS DOWN - of COURSE he's not elitist! the real elitists are the manipulators! he says what he thinks, gives his reasons, asks YOU to think. anyhow, not only will i Vote for him, i Like him.
It's Our Time. Biracial Time. And the rest of america will cheer us on (you just have to learn to scroll down). as i told my daughter (when she had a moment of doubt). Remember? How Impossible it seemed! Do not fear. It's almost here! (christmas cheer).

Sugarman

Keepin' thing sweet while the trolls trick or treat.

What's up my main man, my sugar man?

Thursday, May 1, 2008 04:14 PM

such elitism persists here.....so glad I am a troll

A troll must be someone who stands her ground, states facts, and does not mince words. Sometimes she even dares to use fighting words. But she never backs down.

Obama is a liar, a racist, and a hypocrite. Just because he is black does not make him differnt from Bush, just blacker.

AJ won't ever discuss, just throws around words like baseballs, hoping one will be a home run but instead he just keeps striking out.

Manos is AJ's wingman, standing ever ready to salute anytime the man enters.

Weeping and others seem to write longwinded posts as if the more they write the more we might agree....NOT.

Here is the low down. Maya Angelou supports Hillary Clinton, Obama is OVER, and you have two choices. PLEASE don't make us go Republican....it is in your hands now....

BTW, wonder why Oprah hasn't stood by her man????
