Do you think cable TV actually makes you an informed voter?
"Clearly, we have identified that proportion of the Pennsylvania electorate who never, ever turn on a cable TV news show," sniffs Obama supporter Shapiro condescendingly.
Good for them!! What are they missing, exactly? The misogynistic rants of Chris Matthews, who would have been fired long ago if he ever uttered similar racist rhetoric against Obama? The myopic ramblings of Keith "It's hard to keep my glasses clean with my head so far up Obama's ass" Olbermann? The CNN "best political team on television" that has been counting Hillary out since Iowa?
Good God, these presumptuous Pennsylvanians had the nerve to think they should be able to go to the polls and vote, and have their votes count! They actually believe we still live in a democracy!! What a bunch of hicks!! Clearly they haven't heard about the super-cool post-democratic Obama era, where a charismatic candidate with a paper-thin resume and an aversion to answering media questions ("I've answered eight questions already!!" "Can't I just eat my waaaaaaaaaaafle?") sweeps in and declares victory before all the votes are cast. Didn't we go through this already -- where an elitist with an outsized sense of entitlement, a skimpy record, and a thin-skinned refusal to answer tough questions decides that they've counted enough votes, thank you, and they should quit while he's ahead?

Past and future
Clinton appeals to older voters, the least educated, and -- though this is rarely stated upfront -- the racists in the Democratic Party (those who will not vote for a black person no matter what.) She is also well liked among women, especially women over 50. Obama appeals to the young, African-Americans, the better educated and the more affluent. Just as he has been unable to make significant inroads into her terrority of voters, she has not successfully courted his. The problem is both are critical to a Democratic victory -- his cohort just as much as hers. The Democratics will not win the presidency without the group of people whom Obma has energized. Further, his cohort, while not more important at this moment in time, represents the future of the party. Her does not. In 20 years time, her group will be largely an anachronism. The party ignores this basic fact to its peril.

This guy's a real "rocket scientist"
Wow, can't imagine which way Salon leans right now....think someone said think GE. Can't close the deal, eh. As someone said...he only closed to under 10 percentage points from over 20-30 in a few weeks....but hey who's counting.
What I find amazing is that no one in the main stream press has the balls to state the obvious....Obama is losing amongst the uneducated and blue collar white people.....can someone smell racism here????? Duh.
But what won't matter is those people will probably end up voting for Mc Cain no matter what....and the rest of the older white women...the majority will vote for Obama.
I give Hill a few more weeks....until she hopefully for all our sake gives up. Hopefully she won't have the audacity to pull a "Joe Lieberman" and destroy any hope of a Democratic President.

Obama knew that Penn was Clinton country...
So I say on to Indiana and North Carolina...

Obama's "failure to build on his base?"
Uh, what are you talking about? Better take another look at those exit polls, Shapiro.
Or just let Rural Votes do the work for you: http://ruralvotes.com/thefield/?p=1105

"Obama could walk on water and cure cancer and these women would still vote for Hillary."
Apparently the Obamatons believe he can do both those things. One thing he obviously can't do is win a big industrial state despite the media drinking his bathwater mug by mug and Chris Matthews getting tingles up his legs at the mere hearing of Obama's voice as well as Obama outspending Hillary 3 to 1!!
The Obamaton's now claim it's "unpatriotic" to vote for Hillary. There's nothing in your bag of tricks you can pull that will change the truth. So, boo-hoo, cry me a freaking river!! Hillary will not be bullied out of this campaign. And neither will Joan walsh lose her job on your say so. Get over it!! Crybabies!!!!!

Which is more troubling for the Democrats?
False straw man logic from the left like this article, or pseudo-issue B.S. from the right like we see in the mainstream media?
We're not selling used cars here. Leave the sales metaphors to GloxNews . . .

the race continues
Apparently, a lot of voters see through Obama's equivocations, obfuscations, selective apologies, bald face denials, and political exploits in both the Illinois and U.S. Senates.
But, Obamaniacs can probably count on Howard 'Reach Around' Dean to have some more crap up his sleeve, and they can get this primary rigged once and for all.

Why is everyone so freaked out?
I'm tired of hearing from Obama supporters who are angry that Hillary is still in the race. I wasn't a supporter of either of these two a few months back, and I was pissed off that I didn't have a chance to vote for Kucinich or Edwards. Instead we got the two money ball candidates, surprise surprise. I mean, talk about your centrist in golden-tongued progressive clothing; at least you know what you're getting with Hillary! Listen, I'm not an apologist of Hillary's campaign tactics. But it's ridiculous to say that someone who has remained consistently viable should shove off out of the race. The simple facts are that neither one of them can get the delegate numbers they need to win the nomination. They both deserve to be in it, and this is why we have a process to nominate presidential candidates, people!

How many Republicans registered as Dems to vote for Clinton?
That is the question. Rush Limbaugh has 13 million listeners and he has been urging Repubs to register as Dems in the primaries in Ohio, Texas and now in the PA primaries. I suspect 10% to 20% of Clinton's votes come from those trouble makers who, of course, will vote for McCain in the presidential election.

"Old white women..."
...are largely the reason younger white women have so many opportunities these days, and I, for one, am grateful. They are also one of the largest Democratic voting blocs, and any intelligent candidate (or a supporter of a candidate) alienates them at his or her peril.
If not for "old white women," we'd have had a string of Republican presidents and Republicans controlling both Houses of Congress for as far back as the eye can see. If you liked Clinton better than Bush, you have "old white women," in no small part, to thank for his elections. This bloc also votes in EVERY election -- not just when someone comes along who "inspires" them with good speeches (but not much else).
Hey, dmag: Substitute "young black people" for "old white women" and your post would be a good old-fashioned, hood-wearing racist diatribe. But since it's "only" virulently and hatefully sexist, I guess that's okay with a lot of people... especially Obama supporters.
And why is it okay for 90%-plus black voters to back Obama, with no fear of being called racist, but when fewer than 60% of women back Hillary, they're gender-obsessed?
