The press may be fatigued by the Clinton-Obama battle, but the actual voters in Pennsylvania are still pumped -- no matter who wins.

  • It's fine

It was exciting when the campaign came to Maryland, so I know how Pennsylvanians feel. It's great to see folks all over the country fired up, and yes, ready to go.

I'm not a party person, but if I were a Democrat, I'd be feeling good about the party building going on, at least on the Obama side. That's an investment in the future, should Obama win.

It's good for Barack, and his credibility with the public at large, to fight hard for this nomination, to demonstrate his skills, and frankly to be inoculated somewhat from some of the stuff that will come his way in the general.

There is fatigue among some of us for with the tedious gamesmanship around the primary, but it will have been worthwhile in the end. The Clintons are no small adversaries, so defeating them was never going to be a piece of cake, right?

    Go Pennsylvania!

  • Consider the source

Yeah, you go to a Clinton rally and people say it's great that she's still in the race, like what did you expect to hear?

  • @ manos99

"LeCastor Oil"? That's some low-hanging fruit there, buddy.

Maybe no one wants to marry them? Maybe. But that's a story that's run every week everywhere -- how all women want is to get married and have kids, and how some don't manage to get a guy, and now they're sad.

Anyway, that doesn't detract from the atrocious CNN story. Please do check it out, it's a hoot.

  • "I want the Iranians to know that if I'm the president, we will attack Iran"

This is what Hillary Clinton will be shown saying on "Good Morning America" tomorrow.

And yes, she said that in response to a hypothetical, she wasn't saying she'd attack unprovoked, but this kind of needlessly bellicose talk is the main reason why I have opposed Hillary Clinton all along. She's a war hawk. Maybe she's compensating for sexist beliefs that a woman won't be tough enough.

The proper response to questions like the one she was asked is to point out that Israel itself is estimated to have 200 nuclear weapons, more than enough to totally obliterate Iran. The Iranians are despots, they oppress their people, but they are not suicidal (even if they encourage suicide attacks from people who have nothing to lose). This kind of talk tends to motivate them to get a nuclear weapon as a deterrent, so maniacial neocons who want to go kill them some Iranians think twice about it.

Given two war hawks and one reasonable adult, I'll take the reasonable adult, thank you very much.

  • in all seriousness

it's not just the press that is fatigued. i'm tired of it all. i can't believe anyone can get excited watching Clinton's act anymore. she has got to be the most insincere politician i've seen in years. her transparency is legend.

Obama is a much better performer, for what that's worth. i am incredulous that a two year nominating process could do no better than producing these two candidates.

  • Clinton Cry Machine Out Again!

Rendell whining about Obama's ad spend is funny, since he ran about 20x what his rival for the Gov mansion (Lynn Swann) ran last time. Or Bill Clinton outspending Bob Dole, I guess we were all hoodwinked by flashy ads when we favored Bill, huh?

Lowered epectations. <5% win for Hillary is a disaster, 6% - 9% a disappointment, anything between 12%-15% is OK since she still trails elsewhere. She actually needs to win by 20%.

I hate to say it, but I enjoy the primary now that it is here. I'm an Irish Catholic that loves to argue with people. So this has been great fun - the only dampener is that 20% of Hillary's supporters are likely GOP voters (since every registered Dem in the middle of the state votes Republican every time...to stick it to those of us in Philly). So it is a bit of a fraud race that just looks close.

As long as she takes care of the black guy from the city for them, they'll be happy. Then they can go vote for McCain in November. Because these people ALWAYS vote for the GOP. They vote on flag pins and abortion almost exclusively.

  • Mattering

I identify with those millions of voters left to cast ballots.

Here in Texas, I felt relevant for the first time in a presidential primary.

Everyone should have their say. Onward to Puerto Rico.

  • Earth to Salon

It is over. It's been over. Over 2 months now. Since Hillary got pummeled along the Potomac this race has been over. The sad thing is the more noise you make about it now, ...well more feigned outrage later. Do the math girls. The only thing keeping Hillary in the race is a hope that Barack will get arrested in an airport bathroom or something like that....that's what y'all are holding out for. Sad.

  • Uhhh... You ARE a pundit

This election season has seen a whole heck of a lot of the press complaining about the press. People complaining that the press is biased one way or another... that the pundits are only focusing on Obama's gaffes, etc. But in the end, the poll numbers haven't been swayed by all the nonsense the punditry has been peddling.

Please, recognize at least that you ARE a pundit. You are a member of the punditry. You tried to sell the nation on John Kerry and then tried to tear him down with Swift Boating, etc. The voters didn't care, they voted for George Bush because they still had hope that he might have been right about Iraq.

Stop reporting on the reporters and trying to claim innocence from bias. Please start using the term "we" and "I" rather than "they" when speaking about pundits.

  • Boo Hoo

Sorry Ceytron but democracy is a messy affair. It think its great that the South, an area of the country that has long repudiated the Democratic party is for once not choosing its nominee. I think its great that people who actually support the Democratic party might actually have a say in who is the candidate. Even, if the Democrats had a nominee at this point the media cabal, Will, Brooks, Fox News, Kristol would only be attacking the individual so much earlier. In case you haven't noticed they are in the tank for McCain. No amount of money can silence the right wing when it comes to the perceived shortcomings of Obama and Clinton, so lets not buy into the media, they hate it each other and will destroy the party rantings. Two historic firsts have happened in the Democratic party, an African American nominee or a woman nominee. One will loose, but we can look at this time and say - this could only have happened in the Democratic party.

  • It ain't over yet, baby blue?

I think it's over and Obama will be nominated. I think Hillary has always been a shill for the corporation and won't do anything to loosen their destructive grip on the lives of working people. I'll vote for her anyday over McCain, who actually bows at the feet of the rich and powerful. But, better than Hillary is Obama, and I think most working people know this.
