Wednesday's debate was devoid of substance and rife with gotcha politics. In the end, Obama seemed to win simply by not losing.

  • Sorry TexasGirl

I'm real and I don't respond to trolls. Good night.

  • @maddiep

Yer kewl..good night..might you do something more productive tomorrow?

  • MaddieP

Salon.com is also a troll for Clinton. So I decided a while back to not read Walsh & co. Hillary heists, have cancelled my subscription and post alternative media commentary on Salon letters. How else can we take the country back from lobbyists and status quo media of which Salon.com has now become?

If you think what Joan says either way or what the points you make matter....you might want to rethink things

  • Thank you ABC, Too Little, Hopefully Not Too Late!

Obama favored George Bush Sr.’s Foreign Policy and compliments his strategy for the Gulf War? WTF? Obviously Obama does not realize that it is because of GB Senior's failed policy that we were forced to go back this time to Iraq, which Obama mysteriously disagrees with? If Bush Sr had not pulled the US out of Iraq too early (because he wanted to win the election which backfired on him and Bill Clinton still won), millions of Iraqi's would not have died at the hands of Saddam Hussein and we would not have endured the retaliation of 9/11 when his son took office, and we would not still be stuck in Iraq nor have to go back in the first place had GB SENIOR, Obama’s hero, not pulled out too early! Obama and his supporters are just down right stupid.

And I agree, shame on ABC, shame on them for not doing their jobs and not reporting all of this information all along instead of shoving precious Saint Obama down our throats. Shame on you media, Shame on you for not doing your homework before George Bush Jr got elected. Shame on you for not doing your homework before the Iraq war, and Shame on you for shoving Barack Obama down our throats with out any real hard core investigating and doing nothing but shaming the Clinton’s since day one, all the way back to the drivers license question last June.

As far as people thinking that Obama’s “guilt by association” should be over looked are a bunch of idiots or hypocrites, or possibly both. You want to say that “guilt by association” does not mean anything? Do the names Kenneth Lay, Alberto Gonzales, Scooter Libby, Karl Rove, Harriett Meyers, Karen Hughes, Paul Wolfowitz, Eric Prince, Rupert Murdock, King Abdullah just to name a few off of the top of my head mean anything? Because they should, that is all the left has done is demonize the Bush Administration for his policies which have all been influenced by Bush and Cheney’s associates. If this does not concern you, then you are really misinformed. I only wish we were made aware of all of these “acquaintances” and “associates” of Bush and Cheney, because then we would not all be suffering the policies of the Bush Administration made up of only nothing but “associates and acquaintances.” This is why whoever is running for President is and should be subject to scrutiny when asked about whom s/he has associated with, because it can and will have influence on the policies of their administration, which in turn have an affect on all of America and the rest of the world. This is why it is so important. To say it is not important is just plain ignorant and irresponsible.

I am getting really sick and tired of Obama slithering around the hard questions and dismissing them with the same redundant cumbersome “See, this is what I am talking about, people playing games in Washington with manufactured issues” Blah BLAH BLAHH BULLSHIT! Answer the damn questions already, Hillary does. You want to be our President and you pick and choose which questions are relevant to the American people? The question about the flag pin came from a PA voter. Are you saying she does not have a right to be concerned with what you consider a “manufactured issue?” See, that is what we mean by you being an elitist, Mr. Obama. You are no different than Dubya the way you avoid certain press, control the questioning, and get irritated and dismissive if you do not like the line of questioning. Well tell me, Mr. Obama, how do you expect to win the General Election against the Republicans if you think you are above answering questions?

Obama also claims that we need to focus on the issues. First of all, we are fully capable of being concerned with the issues at the same time of being curious to find out more about him personally. Second, if he is “so” concerned with the issues, then why did he spend his time saying “shame on you Hillary, who do you think you are, Hillary? Annie Oakley” and went on to insult her for “drinking in a bar” while I guess he forgot that he was doing the exact same thing the week prior.

He says “how dare the media question me, you better stick to the issues” and his supporters are pissed off and livid at ABC for actually doing their jobs and duty to the American people, but yet Obama spends the day whining about how badly he was treated at the debate while arrogantly saying “I just brushed it off” while brushing his shoulders as if he is so tough. If he was so tough, then why didn’t he act that way last night instead of acting like pansy ass coward and how does carrying on like this "stick to the issues?" Obama, You are a patronizing and condescending jerk! Get real and grow up!

  • Credible and dependable plans?

For Iraq? Are you kidding me?

Her initial statement, that we don't know what will happen if we pull out of Iraq but we do know what will happen if we stay is total bullshit. Much as I wish we could just start pulling our troops out of there, we know exactly what will happen if we do. We will lose our ability to influence the outcome, ceding it to religious leaders in Iran. A country which, if I recall correctly, doesn't like us very much. Bush has created a perfect storm of fuckedupedness, something he knew he was doing when he went after Sadam - I know this because it's the exact reason we didn't go after him the first time - and anyone who says there is a simple, clean solution to this problem or that we can fix things by just walking away is either lying or just plain stupid.

And to then follow up with a plan to somehow force the rest of the Middle East into a NATO like agreement (MEATO?), when we have spent 5 years polarizing the region around religion and demonstrating the damage that results from our presence is simply insane. No matter how friendly we may be with the governments of these countries, their people hate us. Allowing us to station troops there would be political suicide, even for a king.

On top of which we have also spent 5 years showing the world we simply don't have the horses to keep peace in the region - thank you Bill Clinton. We could have done it, if Rumsfeld hadn't screwed up at the start, but we no longer have the reserve force needed to make up for mistakes like the one Donald made.

When Hillary talks about "massive retaliation", you have to hope that she simply doesn't realize how thin our reserves are at this point. That's a hell of a thing to have to hope for a Presidential candidate, but the alternative is that she just stood on a national stage and threatened the Middle East with nuclear war.

Rather than credible and dependable, the question is whether she is dishonest, stupid, patronizing, or insane.

As an aside, that whole "go to hillaryclinton.com" thing she kept doing that some people seem so impressed with was a brilliant piece of deceptive marketing. People think the web has some sort of permanence when it has none because nobody but Google keeps track of changes. Talking in very broad strokes and directing people to her website for details lets her change her positions and policies at will while allowing her to give the appearance of remaining consistent. Her sound bites will always be the same no matter how much she changes her actual positions. As I said, brilliant. Which leaves us with dishonest, patronizing, or insane.
