Salon Headline Writer Fizzles
Joan: Who the h _ _ _ at Salon composes these contradictory and stupid headlines for articles such as this one ? The article itself isn't half bad, although the writer too often fizzles himself - - so much so that I have rarely read Shapiro's articles and cringe the very few times I am tempted to read the stuff under his byline. If Shapiro wrote his own headline for this piece, please send him back to highschool to learn how to write intelligently or at least get him some help.
Yeah, yeah, I know, you won't post this, but that's OK. You got the message - - and mine is not the only one pointing in the same direction.

HUBRIS..look it up. Ok, arguing with dorks here does what? LET GO OF THE Ego...it doesn't matter what you say...that is the basis of democracy thank god. Too many clever pissed of people doesn't help anyone. Maybe people here and the Salon staff should have watched PBS tonite. Or maybe direct attention to Letterman who had a half hour interview with a global scientist...If you want issues and questions to chew on listen and discuss it..not dumbass statements by idiots.

Foolproof Troll Detection Method
Now now. Calm down. There's no need to go and get yourselves worked into a lather.
If you're just dropping by PLEASe be advised we have some trolls on this board. They purposely say inflammatory things with NO though for reason or rationale.
The rest of us, Obama and Clinton supporters, however fervent, tend to display some degree of reason. Now, you may not agree with the reasons on the other camp, but they have them. Trolls do not.
NUMBER ONE most trolls say they are democrats but will be happy to vote for McCain if their nominee fails. This is called a Republican Troll. Its purpose is to rile up the enemy camp. Ignore them completely. DO NOT respond. (its hard but really... its worth it. They go away when you do that, trust me).
Most honest dems say they will willingly pull the lever for the dem on the ticket. Even those who are ardent in support for their candidate may say they will hold their nose, but vote dem they will. Troll do not do this. Think about it. Really? McCain over the dem candidate? THAT is not a dem. Don't waste time arguing about supreme court justices and all the other shit. They are republicans. Their goal is to make you think the other side is unreasonable and vapid. This is largely untrue.
So in review:
If a poster says he/she is a dem and will vote for McCain, its a lie. (well the McCain part is anyway).
If a poster seems to use language or make implications no dem would use like BUCKWHEAT or BARAK HUSSEIN, come on...this is not a Democrat, nor a Hillary supporter.
If a poster seems to just offer up posts that serve no purpose other to inflame, its a troll, Let it ride.
Ignore them. They DO go away, if only temporarily. No one likes to argue alone.

Maddie is not real either
FYI, over 50 percent of those polled by a cross section of the 'approved' pollsters in this country who currently support Mrs. Clinton stated that they WILL NOT VOTE FOR OBAMA should he get the nomination. This number is MILLIONS and Millions and millions of people.
Are all of us Republican trolls? Pish posh. We are just sitting here with our eyes wide open going who is worse and the answer is always OBAMA. Always. and it just keeps getting worse and worse.

Maddie, if you think that Mr. Pain and Mr. Man respond reasonably and with decorum you must be Larry Flint. Jeez Louise this is so unfair--where is the moderator who steps in and demands that those who did not do their homework are not allowed to debate. How many of you have read more than 20 pages of documented (cross-referenced by at least 3 independent sources) facts about each candidate? How many of you have read more than 200 pages? 2000 pages? I have read more than 2000 and it is mind-bogglingly depressing to hear you all throw around catch phrases as if they matter. This is our country, our lives, and world survivial we are talking about, and I have to discuss it with people who think the National Enquirer is a proper source for news. OMG please wake me up because this nightmare is getting too scary.....

The political fallout from the Philadelphia face-off between Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton was all but eclipsed yesterday by a fierce debate about Charlie Gibson and George Stephanopoulos.
The ABC moderators found themselves under fire for focusing on campaign gaffes and training most of their ammunition on Obama. Huffington Post blogger Jason Linkins called the debate "utterly asinine." Washington Post television critic Tom Shales called the duo's performance "despicable." Philadelphia Daily News columnist Will Bunch said the moderators "disgraced the American voters, and in fact even disgraced democracy itself."

Get over yourself....Find something better to do with your time and get over your self-importance. I am not sure how any of this is any different than American Idol. Both waste time thinking that their opinion actually matters and people will listen to it...YES, We can all be the American Idol winner!!!!!!!!!!!
As Nietzsche said the silly thing of democracy is people reading the daily paper and feeling that what they THINK matters..it helps them get through the day with some self satisfaction, but believing that what they "think" is important impedes.....
I guess it is even more important in an economy that supports things like Salon and people who post.
