  • "...Obama is picking up points with blue-collar voters in Pennsylvania..."

Well, right up until today, that is...

    http://www.politico.com/blogs/bensmith/0408/Obama_on_smalltown_PA_Clinging_religion_guns_xenophobia.html

Still, he's pouring it on with San Francisco liberals!

  • @tbrandel

That sums up exactly how I feel about the anti-abortion voters who, if asked, have absolutely no idea how abortion is still legal after 6 years of Republican dominance over our nation's lawmaking abilities...

You're being played for suckers by people who only want/need you every 2 years in November!

  • Void of all critical thinking

But the final pre-primary figures for Blair County, in which Altoona is the largest city, show that Democratic enrollment has increased by more than 2,000 voters since November 2007, while GOP support has dropped by more than 600 registrants.)

Now anyone with an ounce of critical thinking skills would have "Warning Doctor Smith" lights flashing all over their brain waves by now.

Of course that wouldn't include Obama's genuine supporters.

  • Silly Obamateur's

70% of the Democratic vote is working white women; not San Francisco liberals.

Without Hillary they will go McCain. No question. Will NOT have Obama shoved down their throats by Latte liberals and vulgar college kids.

  • Obama Wins Texas

Note WES, Barack goes to the Democratic Convention with more Texas delegates than Hillary.

For a long time Texas was a 100% caucus state. It now assigns 2/3 of its convention delegates with a primary (held March 4, 2008) and 1/3 with a caucus. It takes 2025 delegates to win the nomination and in the only count that matters for the nomination, the number of delegates, Obama takes Texas.

You can't ignore Texas, WES. It is a mighty BIG STATE.

What makes you think all women voters are voting for Hillary?

  • Checking in from poor ruined New Orleans

Just thought I'd check in at salon here on my mo'-in-law's infernally slow dial-up connection in the poor ruined city of New Orleans, a place which should bring the loftiest left-winger most of the way down to earth (but probably wouldn't, because it's just too, well, real). A whole lot closer than some photo-op bowling alley, at any rate. My comment: Obama is outspending Hillary something like three to one in PA, so is it any wonder the jillion dollar juggernaut is picking up a few points here and there? If anything, Obama is attempting to outright buy this election. Ever think about that one, o ye Obamaites? And please - no rejoinders about how the 'little guy' is sending in all those nickels and dimes. No matter where it's coming from, that money could've done one hell of a lot of demonstrable good here in New Orleans. But that's not the point though, is it?

  • Hullo, ron smith

The TX delegate apportionment in no way reflects the popular vote, which Hillary Clinton won. And yet the Obama camp loudly maintains that superdelegates cannot contradict the popular vote. So, which way do you want to play it? Both ways? That's sure what it looks like.

yea such a pity about that money not being spent in NO

Why don't you ask Hillary what she did with the 140 million she started with and squandered? Oh that's right she wasted it on Penn (that two faced a**hole) and a bunch of other people who did her no good service in this campaign... so much so, that she had to loan her self the money to keep her campaign solvent. Good thing he has plenty to lend herself.

    Don't be disingenuous.

Both candidates have spent a lot, both earn a lot and neither one is shoveling it into your city. Right or wrong, it is what it is.

So what he's spending on ads in primary states? Hello? Its a campaign. He has the money to spend and he's spending it. In the end, the people will make up their own minds, so what?

  • Spare votes?

Walter Shapiro gave away his obvious bias when he printed the gardenvariety of mudslinging about Obama does not have his hand on his heart.... That mud was plastered all over the www.texaskkk.com website front and center on the Klu Klux Klan for crying out loud. About a month ago it wandered to the bottom of their website and now the website is "under construction' and just has their future meetings and crossburnings posted - so consider the source of that mud before you believe.

US soldiers in Iraq say that all this homage to flag and slapping a magnets and yellow ribbons mean little and that the US public should be really paying attention to the war and support the troops by voting in the peacemakers. Ron Paul got the most money from US troops. Support the veteran health benefits and strong patriots like Jim Webb and yes Obama who are practical and loyal to the troops.

Patriotism is more than just a slogan. Susan Eisenhower said she supports Obama because he is practical and focused and patriotic like her grandfather President Eisenhower.

I support Obama because he is the least corrupt and the least hypocritical of those three running. For once someone who is for the middle and lower classes not just the rich.

I also support him because young people deserve to have a next president that got them to the polls and that will help to inspire our young people: Obama started with humble beginnings and made himself a success and will inspire our young.

  • A Mid-March Poll of 2000+ Californian Voters Has Obama Over McCain 49% to 40%

A survey of 2000 plus California voters was given to the press on March 27, 2008. The survey was done by the Public Policy Institute of California, an independent research group based in San Francisco. The results appeared in a March 27 U.S. News & World Report article by Justin Ewers. Poll can be googled using: Public Policy Institute of California poll

On February 4, 2008 Californians gave Clinton a 52%-43 % victory in the primary there. "Obama appears to have experienced a significant bump since then," writes Ewers.

Independents have a favorable view of Obama at 57%, compared to 47% for McCain, and only 35% for Clinton.

If the general election were held today, the poll indicates that Obama, not Clinton, would do better in California. Obama polls at 49%-40% over McCain, while Clinton edges McCain 46%-43%, where 3% is within the error of the survey, ie. a statistical tie.

Note that this survey was done BEFORE the Bosnia Sniper story was debunked, we became aware that the Clintons joined the class of very rich Americans and Mark Penn was demoted for cause.
