Protesters felt burned when the city of San Francisco changed the relay route. But one Burmese activist scored against China anyway.
  • Burma, Tibet are Separate issues

Mixing the fight for Burmese democracy with independence for Tibet is like mixing apples and oranges. The fight in Burma is against a corrupt fascist government while the supporters of Tibet independence are supporting the remnants of a corrupt feudal regime. The Chinese government is not an enemy of the Burmese democracy movement and does not support the Burmese government. The Chinese government is merely following a policy of non-interference in the internal affairs of other nations. Also, Chevron and the French oil company Total have had large investments in Burma but if the Olympics had been in Paris I doubt that their would be calls for boycotts. As for the Chinese being responsible for the fighting in Darfur this article refutes those allegations.http://www.counterpunch.org/gowans02162008.html
