Opinions on a discussion board? How novel!

  • Suspended something

She is not quitting because she believes that when the public finds out more about Obama she will win and because she thinks he is a weaker candidate in the general election, and, finally, because she thinks--as many do--that she will be a better president. That being the case why should she quit.

After all many know that Obama took money from a slum landlord, Rezko, who was taking advantage of poor blacks. Obama took money from a nuclear power corporation, Excelon, and then rewrote legislation until the corp was happy. Obama couldn't afford the $1.65 million house he wanted because the owner required the adjacent lot be sold the same day. So Obama went to Rezko for help. Whereupon Rezko bought the lot even though he was broke and under investigation, and soon to be indicted. And it was Obama who parroted GOP talking points about Social Security being in trouble when it is Medicare/caid and then took money from Goldman-Sachs, the leading proponent of privatizing Social Security. Lastly, it was Obama who said the GOP and Reagan were the party of ideas without noting that they were bad ideas.

After all many know that the Clinton's were investigated by a slew of right-wing wackos, led by Ken Starr and the House and Senate GOP, and after 10 years, 90 FBI agents, dozens of lawyers, and $60 million cleared of ALL charges. That makes them the most carefully vetted and thus arguably most honest politicians around. While John McCain and Barack Obama, beloved of the MSM and much of the so-called liberal blogs, have been the least vetted, and that only when it could not be avoided. (Though Obama is clearly better than McCain. At least he didn't call his wife a C--- in front of a slew of reporters; all of whom dutifully covered it up to protect McCain.)

    So, why should Hillary quit.

  • Manos99

Hillary isn't going away and her supporters aren't going to drop dead just because you like Obama. So just buzz off! Better still, get off the keyboard and take a nap. I'm sure you would do Obama a lot more good if you did. Your snide remarks make people dig in their heels that much deeper and dislike the idea of his nomination even more.

  • Both flawed...

Are there no qualified people willing to run for President? Neither of these two has a resume` that would get them hired as a mid-level executive in private business or even government. John McCain is to be thanked for his heroism, but the largest function he ever managed was a Navy fighter squadron. He believes the US needs no southern border but should protect Iraq's for 100 years.

Typical of this group is Hillary with her "passion" for health care and then the revelation that she has failed to pay for health insurance for her campaign staff. None of these folks has proven they can manage or lead anything, much less the federal behemoth.

These two parties and the electoral system need a major shake-up when it produces three blind mice like these.

When small men cast great shadows, the end of the day is near.

Why did you wake me from my restful slumber?

  • fair enough

In the grand tradition of Bill Clintonian parsing, instead of "winning" we'll say that Obama is "leading" in all valid metrics.

    deal?

    ;)

  • Suspended Animation?

So were Lenin and his 121 marxist henchmen in the sealed train hurtling from Berlin to Russia before they were unleashed on the world in 1917. They prevailed, to the misery of Russia and the world for almost a century.

Hillary is the only hope to stave off the programmatic and pragmatic descendants of the zealot Obama crew, while its pied pipered victims anxiously await the train's arrival in Denver and Republicans cheer Obama on as his train runs down the heroic but harried Clinton.

I truly wonder how Republicans are going to feel when the Obama special leaves Denver and does to McCain what it is now doing to Hillary Clinton. A lot like the Germans after the Bolsheviks took over Russia and killed their German engineers along with the imperial family. Too late to worry then, McCain.

  • Thank you, rphillips

Ah, nice to know that I'm not the only one tempted to think of Obama and his worst zealots in terms of those who brought Holy Mother Russia her worst nightmare. The rigidity, the harsh judgments and demonizing, the desire to punish and destroy, the cloaking of self in garments of historic virtue and false redemption, the bullying and cluelessness underneath the veneer of bravado...it's all there.

  • And in the horse latitudes..

The OED cites "The latitudes where these calms chiefly reign, are named the horse-latitudes by mariners because they are fatal to horses and other cattle which are transported to the last mentioned continent." They simply die in the slow transport and then get tossed overboard. We can all empathize.

Barack is busy running a campaign in Pennsylvania that seems to be crawling from far behind to a close race. As the front runner it's his job to focus on that and not make national waves.

I know there's a lot of running around to try and change the rules, but if the convention is scheduled way too late, who picked that date and why were they expecting a 5 month cornonation march? I am puzzled though by what happens if it doesn't settle on the first vote. Are the bosses still around to broker the backroom deal or are there just going to be a lot of delegates milling around like lost sheep?

  • KateTex, are you on crack?

    Seriously.

Ah, nice to know that I'm not the only one tempted to think of Obama and his worst zealots in terms of those who brought Holy Mother Russia her worst nightmare.

Where are any Obama supporters picking up weapons and slaughtering rulers? Where are they encouraging new rules, ever changing, to keep their power intact (doesn't that last bit sound more like Hillary?)

The rigidity, the harsh judgments and demonizing, the desire to punish and destroy,

Rigidity about what? Has Hillary's policies or platform changed in any way since she started the race? What harsh judgements? You mean because we don't like the other candidate and support our own? Isn't that how politics always works. Aren't you, in fact, providing a harsh judgement and demonizing people who support Obama?

What desire to punish and destroy? Has anyone talked about hurting Hillary, or wiping her out? I guess it's expected she'll continue to have her very cozy seat as Senator from New York. We just don't want to vote for her for president. Is that punishing and destroying?

the cloaking of self in garments of historic virtue and false redemption, the bullying and cluelessness underneath the veneer of bravado...it's all there.

Wasn't the encouragement to vote for Hillary because that meant voting for the first woman president a cloaking of the self in the garments of historic virtue and false redemption? Wasn't her telling Obama to wait, and Bill telling him that he should wait until it was "his turn" a kind of bullying? Isn't saying Obama can't win, when he's done so well, a form of cluelessness underneath the veneer of bravado?

You're foaming at the mouth while accusing Obama supporters of being rabid. Take a look at your own posts.
