@AnOptimist
The final line of this article reads
This time around, it is Hillary Clinton desperately praying for the political winds to propel her out of the doldrums. But barring a Clinton string of victories through West Virginia on May 13, the weather reports are all Obama.
So how does that say, essentially, "Barrack Obama can't win"?
Clearly Joan Walsh supports Hillary, but I think the two articles today take very different positions on the outcome of the race. The basic message of this article is "Hillary's in deep trouble, and without a lot of luck, she's through."

Interesting
"Instead, we are locked in a campaign that is difficult for Clinton to win and near impossible for anyone to end."
Not sure what this means. If it is impossible to end that means it is difficult for both Clinton and Obama to win. So you are not saying it explicitly, but implicitly you are proposing that since no one can win, then someone should quit?
In that case I think Axelrod should quit, he like Rove is much to adept at selling unqualified candidates. He could sell snow to Eskimos as well as he sells empty-suits to Democrats.

More negative press
Just more negative press, the kind that further divides the Democrats.
By the way, no one is going to get the required votes without the superdelegates.

Good by, DLC, welcome back DNC
One of the biggest factors in this race that I see is the DNC's Dean-driven 50-state strategy (which won the congress back, in spite of the dour predictions of the DLC) and the DLC's pander-to-the-base approach.
Obama has run in 50 states. Clinton is still trying to win by offering a narrow base whatever they want in big states. Obama is running on broad principles that suggest a rhetorical understanding of what's right and wrong for our country. Clinton claims to be from every state she visits (did you know she actually grew up in Scranton? After starting out in Texas?).
I think the democratic party represents the interests of most people in this country, and they are finally campaigning that way. The next election will have even less to do with the DLC's play book. Because we've finally realized we are the majority, but aren't taking it for granted.

"Hillary has been laying off Obama in the past couple of weeks. Or, maybe it just seems that way to me because I've gotten bored with the race and not following it as closely."
I think she laid off Obama not through design, but out of need. The sniper fire in Bosnia fiasco, the made up story about the woman who died in Ohio, lying about Bill Richardson, I critisized the war before Obama, cash problems, where'd they make all that money? now the Mark Penn situation...how can she attack Obama when she's been so busy being exposed as the liar we always knew she was among other problems?
Obama will be the nominee. The only good to come from this ordeal is that the Democrats attacks against John McCain will be fresher closer to the election. He's doing a pretty good job of presenting himself as completely out of touch...and I have no doubt his health will be a big issue when the election nears (he doesn't just look old, he looks like he's dying).
Clinton is not merely losing the nomination, she's self-destructing. Her campaign is so poorly run, her behavio so craven that shhe's burning alot of bridges.
I guess she can drag herself to the convention if she wants, but by that time she'll be like the clown who sweeps up the spotlight at the end of the circus.

The front-runner is definitely trapped!!!
Nice and I agree!
HRC should be ashamed of herself and her campaign. She said BO is not elect able. However, HRC is a household name and CAN'T win this race!!! Who’s really not elect able. All the HRC supporters should really consider this fact. How is it a jr senator, that no one really knew, the underdog; and let me not forget, who had to work HARD for the black vote, come to take the lead in this race? If, you are a household name with accomplishments, and a husband as an ex president why than can you not win this thing!? Please check out http://www.hillaryproject.com/
If you do your research the Clintons, you will see the media and the BO team has been very kind to her. Let’s talk about the Peter Paul case and $15.4 million and how it relates to Dubai. They even have film footage of HRC promoting NAFTA and from her Whitehouse schedule promoting NAFTA. The BO team is very kind to her in this process. It’s amazing; HRC has political scandal and baggage that would fill up a cargo plane. The media and HRC supporters turn a blind eye to all this stuff. All candidates have some baggage. But on come people!!! The CLINTON’s baggage, scandal and deceit is over the stop and starts out early in their careers and lawyers! When does it end!!!
For the HRC supporters and those who want to make this about racism, where did you get this crazy assumption that Barack is ahead in delegates only because he has the black vote on his side? He couldn't have won as many delegates as he has if it were only blacks voting for him. I wasn't aware that Idaho, Wyoming, Wisconsin, Iowa had such large black demographics. It appears BO has appealed to all people. He would not be in this position as a JR senator running for president with just a black vote and prayer. Come on guys get real! I will would not vote for Hillary regardless who the other democratic opponent...I may stay home on Election Day, if she wins. I'm neither a democrat nor republican

Animated Campaign
Let's see, just this weekend we learned the following:
-- The Clintons' income over the past seven years topped 109 million dollars. While they apparently gave 10 million to charity, only two million was actually disbursed, the rest stayed safely in the Clinton Foundation, away from the tax collectors. Working every day for the working class? Not!
-- Sen. Clinton's oft-repeated campaign trail story about the tragic death of a young Ohio mother was firmly rebuked by the hospital involved in the case. Yet another example of Clintonian exaggeration to support a campaign claim.
-- The Clintons' trusted strategist, Mark Penn was caught lobbying for the Colombian Free Trade Agreement, which Sen. Clinton supposedly opposes. The Clintons get "furious" and sideline Penn, but retain him as a pollster. Where is the firmly worded repudiation of Penn's conflicted position? Where is the outrage from the so-called champion of blue collar workers?
-- Another super delegate (Campbell of Montana) comes out in support of Sen. Obama, making the current total 69 supers for Obama since Feb. 4 as against only nine for Sen. Clinton.
The trend is steady, uni-directional, and inexorable. This is not a campaign in suspended animation, but rather a Clinton campaign in clear free fall. No need for her to call off the campaign; at this rate, it will reach the vanishing point in less than two months.
