Foot-in-mouth John Kerry has been displaying his silliness once again and, as I saw it on YouTube, it's not only Americans that can wonder at his inanity. According to this former Presidential candidate, Barack Obama would be able to bridge the divide between extremists and moderates in the Muslim world because he is African-American, clarifying that by adding "a black man". Jordan and Egypt were also included in Kerry's gallimaufry. Does Kerry have the slightest inkling at all. The struggle in Iraq, now concentrated in Basra, is between Sunni and Shia Muslims, all Arabs and with no connection to African-Americans whose ancestral home was sub-Saharan Africa. Senator Kerry didn't bother to mention the Kurds of northern Iraq so their attitde to skin-colour must not have been deemed important. Skin-colour is not a priority in the Muslim world, although Kerry's daft observations would suggest that this is so. Benazir Bhutto would never have been mistaken for an African-American and Kerry's outlandish statement goes totally against the grain of Martin Luther King's aspirations for a colourblind America. People outside America were astonished when George W. Bush was elected for a second time but, with a candidate such as Kerry to oppose him, it is less mystifying. The Senator is a dreary dolt.
