And you wonder how America managed to end up with two wars, a debt fast approaching unpayable, jobs migrating overseas at a rate of knots, its scientific lead being eroded by China, and its politics being governed by who slept with who rather than what is actually happening in the damn country.

There needs to come a point at which Americans finally admit that what they want in a president isn't someone who identifies with average Americans. You want someone who cares about average Americans, but in the end you want somebody with a totally different skill set to someone who works in a factory.

It is not a values judgement to speak about qualifications. That you are not qualified as a doctor does not mean that you are worse than that doctor, it does mean that the doctor probably knows more about medical matters than you.

And a lawyer, despite all the jokes which a surprising number of idiots take seriously, probably knows more about the law than you do. It is a relevant qualification in a president - while being say, an actor is not as good.
