Pretty onesided, don't you think?
I agree that she's been railroaded. I agree that, based on what you have told us, the jury made a mistake that I simply can't understand. I agree that she is not a terrorist and doesn't deserve a "terrorist enhancement" on her sentence.
But if she is guilty she should go to prison, even if she was just holding a walkie talkie. She participated in an act of arson, and that always has the potential to take and destroy lives. That can't be excused, regardless of whether she is cute or talented or the subject of your article.
I like that the government has defined terrorism as "calculated to influence or affect the conduct of government". I expect the FBI to start rounding up lobbyists, PACs, and large campaign contributors any day now. Who would be tasked with arresting Chinese nationals in their home country?
On the other hand, an election is calculated to do nothing but influence or affect the conduct of government, so GW has his grounds to cancel the vote if he feels he won't be able to sleep knowing he could have done more damage to this country if he had stayed a while longer.
