If Clinton beats the odds and wins the Democratic nomination, Republicans will say she stole it. And then they'll try to give voters a 1990s flashback.

Write to the superdelegates in your state and then go from there. This has to be a grassroots movement to get her out. Hillary is beyond crazy. She is destroying the party

  • Senator Clinton should end this.

It isn't how the Republicans will run against her.

She simply can't win the nomination without super-delegates overturning pledged delegates. If this happens, how will the black vote respond?

Bill Clinton won the Presidency in '92 with only 38% on the white vote, and 90% of the black vote.

Mrs. Clinton will not win the white vote in the general. She needs 90%+ of the black vote to succeed.

    Ohio?

Here is an excerpt from an article in today's St. Louis Post Dispatch. http://www.stltoday.com/stltoday/news/stories.nsf/politics/story/146EFF6FB6C2832886257418000DC94A?OpenDocument

"In 2004, George W. Bush won re-election thanks to his narrow victory in Ohio, which analysts attribute in large part to his relatively strong showing among African-Americans. Sixteen percent of black voters went for Bush in Ohio."

A Democrat simply can't win the White House without a huge turnout, and support, of the black vote.

    Period.

  • Who Needs The Black Vote?

When Hillary has the Bosnian Sniper Vote sewn up?

  • What is going on here????

I read Salon and enjoy the intelligent discussion in response to articles. But this has degenerated into... some sort of mud fight. What's with the one line retorts? I don't even recognize half of the writers here. Does anyone ever re-read what they wrote? (Does anyone have a job and a family to spend time with? I can't keep up with every article.)

I just read a transcript of Hillary Clinton's response to reporters about the housing crisis. She knows every detail about what is going on. There were a lot of ums and ers, but so what? She's not a good speaker. She has the brains to deal with all the complexities of this sad world. She has maturity (a word unheard of here, perhaps better than experience). Do you think, after being first lady for 8 years, with an intellect such as hers, that she didn't say to herself, I can do better? Is she power hungry? Yes, because one needs power to make change, and she sees that our country needs change. Why do you think she is working so hard to be president? Come on, being president is no picnic. Just look at GWB, he can't wait until he is freed from his job. She knows that she can help this country and I believe her.

Maybe some of the Obama supporters should re-read his books. Compassion and seeing another's point of view, gentle debate. You don't have to stomp on Hillary to show support for him. They are different enough that their qualities can be debated in a civil manner. I will support either of them in the general election.

If Mccain wins, we have only ourselves to blaim.

  • Hillary Knows Lots Of Stuff

She knows that she can help this country and I believe her.

She also knows that she evaded sniper fire during her trip to Bosnia.

I'm finding it hard to put a lot of stock in what Hillary "knows". Like her "experience", it's turning out to be a lot of nothing at best, and a huge negative (like her pushing for NAFTA inside the Clinton White House) at worst.

But then, what do you expect from Madame de Wal Mart?

  • Hillary Clinton, wartime collaborator

"Though many Democrats like and respect Clinton as a role model, an effective legislator and a fighter against a relentless GOP onslaught,"

Anyone else watch the Frontline special "Bush's War"? How exactly is Clinton a "role model," "effective," or a "fighter against a relentless GOP onslaught"?

    SHE VOTED FOR THE WAR.

SHE VOTED AGAINST THE LEVINE AMENDMENT.

SHE VOTED FOR THE PATRIOT ACT.

    SHE HAS NEVER APOLOGIZED.

  • The G.O.P. vs. Barack Obama: A Preview

You think OPPRE (Opposition Research) in the Republican party will go easier on Barack Obama, should he be the Democratic candidate? What have you guys been snorting?

Here's a preview of the G.O.P. vs. Barack Obama this fall:

1)OBAMA IS UN-PATRIOTIC: He refuses to wear an American flag lapel pin. He won't put his hand over his heart when the national anthem/pledge of allegience is delivered. He didn't serve in the military, but, thinks he knows whats best for the military. He wants to overturn "don't ask/don't tell." He wants to pull our brave men and women out of Iraq precipitously without regard for what will happen next. He's soft on terrorism. He wants to talk with our enemies with no preconditions. He would cede GitMo to the Cubans. He would open the floodgates to Cuban emigrees and would end the boycott of traveling to and from there. He would open the borders completely to any and all from Mexico with no regard for our safety. He supports his pastor, the Rev Wright, who proclaimed "God Damn America", and refused to renounce him completely. His middle name is Hussein >>wink, wink<< and we all know where his loyalties are. He attended a madrassa in Indonesia...where terrorists who hate America are trained. His sympathies lie in Africa...because he is an African first and an American second.

2)OBAMA PLAYS THE RACE CARD: He appeals to black "folks" as one of them and disparages whites by saying "typical white people". He attends a church whose pastor, by his videotaped sermon-rants, is violently and vehemently anti-white and racist. He demeaned his own grandmother...who is white...for her white "ignorance". He gives secret winks and nods to black radicals who hate America's whites.

    3) OBAMA HAS TIES TO LAWBREAKERS: His ties to Tony Rezko are well-known. he received sweetheart loans and land deals from Mr. Rezko; what did Obama give Mr. Rezko in return? Mr. Rezko gave thousands to Obama's campaign; how much of that money was dirty? What else is there that we don't yet know about Mr. Obama's sleazy friends?

4)OBAMA IS A DRUGGIE: He freely admitted to smoking an illegal drug...marijuana...and snorting an illegal drug... cocaine! What more will we learn about him should he win the Presidency? Will we find that he shoots heroin, drops acid or eats magic 'shrooms? WE CAN'T TAKE THAT CHANCE!

    5) JOHN MCCAIN IS A WAR HERO; OBAMA NEVER WORE THE UNIFORM! 'Nuff said about that one; get ready to see a sea of flags with every campaign ad or appearance by McCain.

These are just some of the possible/probable lines of attack by the Republicans against Obama this fall. Remember that John Kerry was doomed by the 527-crowd's "SwiftBoat" attacks; Hillary Clinton has been attacked for her husband's infidelity! Go figure. But, if Obama thinks that the election against the Rovian Republicans is going to be a cake-walk for him versus Hillary, he's going to be submerged in cake-crumbs up to his eyebrows.

  • A failed strategy

As with all the naysayers and Hillary haters who post their absurd reasons for why Hillary would lose, the Republican strategy is as useless as Obama's is in attacking Hillary for many reasons, a few of them being as follows: No one cared about the scandals the Repubs tried to smear her and her husband with back then. They still don't. The only ones who do are a media that always hated her, Obamabots who are as crazed as any right wing nut, and, of course, the right wing kooks themselves...not exactly a crew who matter to the vast swath of voters out there. Obama's negatives are obvious to anyone who wants to see them: a man who chooses to lecture the voters, rather than listen to them, a serious flaw that cannot make him ever electable. He acts as if the nomination is his right, much more so than Hillary ever has. In an early 90s interview, Obama haughtily claims he will never have a problem getting a job as a lawyer, since he was at the top of his Harvard class...save the snot nosed bullshit for your grandmother...the one you threw under the bus...Christopher Hitchens has a fabulous smackdown about THAT on Salon. So when I hear a ridiculous slew of blabbering TV pundits and Obama shills telling us he has it locked up, I say, NOT on your life.
