no i'm speaking of natural processes
Take the apple for example, the lowly apple. Apples have an interesting characteristic called heterozygoticity. Which means that all descendants of a parent have almost no genetic relation to them. It's a process of continuous and extremely volatile genetic recombination on the fly. If an apple tree produces 600 apples you wind up with 600 different nearly unrelated genetic variants. There are many other plants that exhibit this behavior.
Moreover, the pressure of agricultural processes have yielded all of the crop we eat. But guess what, nearly all of them stem from variants which are themselves either inedible, toxic or extremely poor yielding. A 'natural' carrot for example is an inch long. A natural cabbage could kill you. A natural ear of corn, perhaps 3 inches long, a natural potato, likewise, nearly inedible and so on and so on. Likewise with flowers. Flowers have developed in the period since human cultivation in remarkable ways solely through cultivation and as result are genetically, botanically differentiated from those ancestors.
and, before you call all throw the Molotov through the windows of Archer-Daniels on me, all of those genetic changes occured sometime between 12,000 and 4,000 years ago, solely as a result of the pressures born of selective breeding. Those crops are genetically different from their ancestors, very different.
So, long story short, these genetic pressures go on all the time. The difference being, what time scale do you want to be in fear of.

Trust the FOOD SCIENTISTS!!!
HI FRUCTOSE CORN SWEETNER.
Remember New Coke? It was a scam. When they brought back the old Coke, it wasn;t the same. They replaced sugar with HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SWEETNER.
Then everybody did it. Now instead of sugar, soda pop has HFC.
They said it was because it was cheaper.
SURE, BUT THAT ISN'T WHY.
Sugar is fuel. HFC is not. HFC must be converted by the liver into fat before the body can burn it.
You think you are getting sugar because it is sweet, but it isn't fuel so you CONSUME more of it to get the energy your body is expecting. YOU STILL DON'T GET IT. Unless you buy ENERGY drinks that actually CONTAIN SUGAR.
Bottom line is that you BUY MORE PRODUCT and get less POSITIVE RESULTS which is why we have 64 ounce BIG GULPS.
Fruit Juices are good for you, RIGHT? Not if they are sweetened with HFC. You might as well be drinking soda pop.
An obesity and diabetes epidemic and lousy tasting sodas are a small price to pay for MORE PROFITS for the FOOD INDUSTRY.
Pumping hormones and antibiotics into animals which we not only eat, but feed to our children shows exactly how much these people care about health. You saw the video for the downer cows being forklifted? What is a little tainted meat for school children when compared to the loss of income if a cow was deemed "inedible".
You are what you eat, speaking of DOWNER COWS and MAD COW.
Well, at least there is a bright side to all this. At some point in the near future, mosquitos will probably have to think twice before they dine on one of us.

we all know animals are just stupid. (tongue in cheek)
I know, having weaned myself off processed foods, that I positively feel ILL when I DO eat something from a box or a fast food outlet.
That dead feeling in the bottom of the stomach, or that gassy sensation, or that bloated belly feeling, or the acid reflux, or the pain in the joints, or the anxiety, or the running yet depressed mind. These are but a few symptoms, and I list only the short term ones really, I no longer have to endure but that I encountered pretty much round the clock before I began to regulate my food intake and pursue healthy, organic simple foods.
Live a life of severely diminished quality, where you are popping all sorts of errant pills to no effect and crying into your Maalox, and feed the coffers of the evil trillionaires, or else live a life of depression-free joy where you can actually sizzle and percolate and luxuriate in the FEELING of being alive.
Your choice-- as it always is...

New movie coming out explains all of this
There is a new movie coming out called 10,000 B.C., perhaps you've heard of it?
There is a scene where prehistoric men are shown splicing genes from unrelated plants and animals in a Flinstones-Style Biolab, creating their very own Frankenfoods and Chimeras! It even shows them splicing puppy genes with genes from baby elephants to make mammoths.

Remember New Coke? It was a scam.
No. It is much simpler than a High Fructose Corn Syrup conspiracy. It was bad marketing research. It is a case study about improper market segmentation.
But speaking of HFCS, it's in everything, even Twizzlers and cheese dip. Some guy wrote a book about our overconsumption of corn and it being a large % of the American diet. Even the meat we eat is grown on corn now (even though it isn't good for the animals)
The author said that Corn to American's is what Potatoes was to the Irish. If there were a "Corn Famine" we'd be finished.
But think of the bright side, Candy Corn is really made out of corn now!

Humans are STILL adapting to certain foods
even those that were genetically altered in the classic sense, through selective breeding.
Food allergies are legion. Many people are allergic to wheats and other gluten containing products, soy, processed milk, and many other food staples. This is because our bodies still are working through making these food items edible. Darwinism at work.
Two problems crop up with this GMO stuff. The amount of adulteration is magnified by many factors, leading to diminished capacity for the human system to work itself through all the changes.
Also, unlike selective breeding, which maintains intact plants with a balanced genome, plucking and sticking DNA into specific spots does not give the genome the chance to work out a healthy solution to its new state. Instead, we become the guinea pigs for unknown and unknowable compounds. We unknowingly live misery laden lives while vicious trillionaires are overcome with sheer joy, thanking Moloch, at the sight of the stupidity of their sheeple flock in their sights who continue to down their demonspawn poisons.
