    Obama at Dawn

    We need policy people, but we also need imagination and courage to implement policy. Madeline Albright was a sharp lady but in the eyes of the Middle East was considered an"old hag," and was sorely resented.The Sheiks will smile and salaam when visiting the White House but there will be an underlying resentment in having to deal with a woman in a pantsuit whom they will assume, regardless of the verisimilitude, that big boy Bill is behind the curtain calling the shots. There will be a much better simpatico with a strong man; half black, half white, half Muslim, half Christian, half American, half African, whose roots came from their part of the world. It's a perfect combination, and the dawning of a new foreign policy. Put yourself in their place...
