Hillary Clinton's Texas-size moment

All that mattered about the showdown in Austin was whether she could stop Barack Obama's momentum. Were her powerful closing words a magic bullet?

The letters thread is now closed.

Another Clueless Anonymous Obama Basher

Yes, I know he walked the neighborhood for 3 months and then took back to the office. Within five months of that he was running for the Illinois legislature.

Would have been hard for him to run for the Illinois legislature while he was attending Harvard Law School, where he became president of the Harvard Law Review and eventually graduated magna cum laude. See, Obama got his undergrad degree, THEN he became a community organizer (as detailed in the article from The Nation), THEN he went to Harvard.

As usual, you anonymous Obama bashers (I'm not even sure if you're Hillary supporters anymore, since your irrational rants are doing her more harm than good) can't get your facts straight.

Anon @ 4:31 ; I hardly know where to begin.

Okay. This racist black and spoiled child would like a citation, some evidence, or any proof that McCain will carry California and New Jersey 12:1 against Obama on the backs of the Latin and Asian vote.

Because all of the news sources that I could find say that Obama is the candidate that can beat McCain in the general election.

like this one:

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2008/president/us/

general_election_mccain_vs_obama-225.html

or this one:

http://www.presidentelectionpolls.com/2008/

presidential-matchups/barack-obama-vs-john-mccain.html

even Fox News agrees here:

has-slim-edge-over-mccain-half-would-never-vote-for-clinton/

Thanks.

AKA,

Good heavens, Obama suggested VOLUNTARY service as a way for college students to "work off" the $4,000 per year college tuition grant he proposes.

Gracious sakes, the man doesn't want to draft anyone! Google it.

@sunspot

Yes, I know he walked the neighborhood for 3 months and then took back to the office. Within five months of that he was running for the Illinois legislature.

Within 2.5 years of THAT he somehow had a 2.5 million dollar home and his wife (public) salary had climbed through teh roof.

The poor in the southside got their heat cut off by Obama's Slumlord friend and nuclear waste freely dumped in their districts.

Nice guy, Hussein-Obama. I guess at least he isn't hanging out with rabid anti-semites and domestic terrorists anymore.

We can hope.

Selancio103 - I Agree !

Barack Obama has the talent and the good work habits to pound John McCain and his lobbyist friends. Barack will win 45 states bringing with him a new and willing Congress to move us forward.

"his associations with the likes of Saul Alinsky"

Fool, Hillary Clinton did a 92-page senior thesis at Wellesley on Saul Alinsky. Bill Clinton pardoned a Weatherman and members of FALN.

Watch where you fling that mud, some of it might get on you.

And let's not forget...

That Clinton is in no small part responsible for those wounded soldiers in the Brooke Medical Center. Mr Shapiro seems to have.

"anonymous Hillary supporters"

These liars are just part of the right wing slander machine. Expect more of the same as Obama moves ahead in the coming months.

Friday, February 22, 2008 04:31 PM

@sunspot - Yes Obama will lose California and New Jersey, PN and Ohio and ALL the SW

Let me get this straight, you're actually claiming Obama's gonna lose in the general in California? To John McCain?

Yes, honey. And if you don't get that you better wake up and smell the coffee. Downtown San Francisco cannot carry California.

YOu should understand that even after Oprah hoofing her fat carcass on stage for him with Teddy Drunkedy for weeks on end, Hillary still won Cal by double digits. Remember?

It's called the Latin and Asian vote. And it outnumbers San Francisco gay men drinking lattes in art shops and racist blacks in Oakland by about oh......at least 12:1.

Latins and Asians love Hillary, they hate Obama and they don't mind McCain (who has successfully painted himself a s moderate GOpster unbeholden to the right).

If they have to choose between Obama and McCain they will choose McCain (doesnt' hurt that McCain is FROM the SW either , did you even bother to THINK - no , of course not).

See understanding these things is important. And why letting a bunch of racist blacks and spoiled children pick your candidate is a bad move.

Another Lie From An Anonymous Hillary Supporter

I mean, my God, this guy Barrack Obama claims he was a southsider activist but quit after 3 months and took a safe office job.

From The Nation:

In 1985, freshly graduated from Columbia University and working for a New York business consultant, Barack Obama decided to become a community organizer. Though he liked the idea, he didn't understand what the job involved, and his inquiries turned up few opportunities.

Then he got a call from Jerry Kellman, an organizer working on Chicago's far South Side for a community group based in the churches of the region, an expanse of white, black and Latino blue-collar neighborhoods that were reeling from the steel-mill closings. Kellman was looking for an organizer for the new Developing Communities Project (DCP), which would focus on black city neighborhoods.

Obama, only 24, struck board members as "awesome" and "extremely impressive," and they quickly hired him, at $13,000 a year, plus $2,000 for a car--a beat-up blue Honda Civic, which Obama drove for the next three years organizing more than twenty congregations to change their neighborhoods.

@ rphillips111

I oppose compulsory nattional service. Why do you say Obama supports this? Can you provide a link to this specifically?

Friday, February 22, 2008 04:22 PM

@ Socs and Twigs: I believe you mean duped and not "dooped."

That's okay. People make spelling mistakes.

Take the Anonymous below who spells plagiarized as "plagurized." My point is not that many Obama supporters are ignorant in all things but just that they are ignorant on the issue of plagiarism. What can one do? One wants to educate people. I would even like you to understand why what Obama did with Deval Patrick's speech was indeed plagiarism. It is sad to see someone as intelligent as you obviously choose to remain willfully ignorant.

Below is an example of NOT plagiarism. It is very close to what ignorant Obama supporters like that Anonymous are accusing Hillary of having done in her closing remarks in the debate. Now perhaps they can tell me, is it or is it not plagiarism:

From http://hotlineblog.nationaljournal.com/

Tonight, Sen. Obama said: “In Youngstown, Ohio, I talked to workers who have seen their plants shipped overseas due to consequences of poor deals it's like NAFTA that have literally seen equipment unbolted from the floors of factories and shipped to China.” [CNN Univision Debate, 2/21/08]

John Kerry in 2004: “What does it mean in America today when Dave McCune, a steel worker I met in Canton, Ohio, saw his job sent overseas and the equipment in his factory literally unbolted, crated up, and shipped thousands of miles away along with that job?” [Kerry Remarks, Democratic Convention, 7/29/04]

So is that plagiarism? Or is it not? Did Obama plagiarize again? Not in the above, but he did plagiarize when he used the words of Deval Patrick without attribution.
