All the remaining 2008 contenders -- except Barack Obama -- indulge in an artery-busting blue-collar orgy of fried fish, bratwurst and cheese.

  • Yes biased very much

There isn't a paper out there that hasn't fawned all over Obama and his borrowed speeches ranging from a dead president, a beloved felled activist and even his own preacher. The Press even call him their Golden Boy. They've created a myth and messiah like creature. Pretty scary how easily lead people are by flowery speeches. They treat him like a celebrity and rock star, more hype than substance.

  • Notorious W.E.S:

    1. McCain has tied himself to the disastrous, discredited Bush foreign policy in Iraq. He cannot beat Obama because of this alone.

    2. McCain is older than dirt. He is a grumpy old man in a rumpled suit and he contrasts badly with Obama's youth and energy and..........style.

    3. After 8 years of Bush and Cheney, after 8 years of Republican scandals (remember Larry Craig?) and assorted GOP horsecrap, the voters are turning to the Dems in droves.......droves, dude.

    4. The energy and motivation are all on the Democratic side. Dems are jazzed up to take back the White House and will turn out in huge numbers. The Republicans can't even unite behind McCain; the conservatives still haven't accepted him. A lot of GOPers are just gonna stay home in November and watch the 700 Club on TV.

Obama will beat McCain like a drum. Take it to the bank.

  • The Press should just erect a statue to Obama now.

I'm so sick of the bias the Press shows towards Obama. All the questions people want answered they ignore because they want to keep this false prophet on top. I don't want a preacher for President, I want a leader!! I'm sick of the attitude coming from his fan base. Hope and change being chanted by a bunch of bullies with a my way or the highway attitude.

They think they've found God, what they found is a guy who can put a lot of empty rhetoric together and make nice speeches. But what has he done? When he finally showed up for a Senate Foreign Relations Committee meeting he immediately hands his staff member a note saying "shoot me now". Well being President is a lot harder than just showing up for a Senate Foreign Relations meeting. No wonder he always voted "present" on every important vote, he didn't want anything to stick to him. As for the Illinois senate records he admitted to destroying, now most people would find that pretty disturbing...but it's all hype, smoke and mirrors and no answers.

  • Hey billary backers, Take Pride In This!

According to a senior clinton official, "All the rules will be going out the window".

In the article linked below, they state that pledged delegates are really not pledged at all...so much for your vote.

That's how the clintons play. They will do anything to win.

...and you thought Dick Cheney was Darth Vader.

  • GW

That sounds a lot like why Bush was gonna get beat in 2004.

  • Anon, speaking of smoke and mirrors

    Actually, that is Hillary Clinton.

For all of her much vaunted talk of experience on foreign policy - she called the leader of Russia soulless.

For all of her talk of experience in government, she made the wrong call on Iraq - one of the worst mistakes in America's history.

For all of her talk of fighting the Republicans, she agrees with them on censorship and Iran.

For all of her talk about being a top campaigner, Obama, a rank outsider has gone from being a virtual unknown with a name that rhymes with Osama, to not only fighting her to a draw, but fighting her to a point where she is trying to cheat.

She is smoke a mirror show upheld by cries of press bias and a hysterical campaign crew trying to contain the damage.

  • Obama Party...Table For One

The bottom line about Obama? In the opinion of many, he's simply not ready for the job. He's too inexperienced, too naive and too unrealistic about the world, the nation and the situation we face in the years to come.

While I don't like the Republican choice(s), at least I feel like a grown-up would be in charge, should they win.

And, I repeat: the constant nasty and negative drum-beat against Hillary by the Obama supporters is turning many/most of us off. Referring to those of who don't care for Obama as "racists" isn't helping your cause, either. I'm obviously not the only one who feels this way; yesterday, I received a "Democrats For McCain" solicitation spam e-mail. Go figure.

I'd say you have a lot of fence-mending to do, should your candidate win the nomination...but, I don't believe there's enough wood available to accomplish that task.

Let the "Cult Of Obama" rave on...

Your hypocrisy isn't quite as blinding as you hope.

  • @Revere

Revere: "Ask yourself where was Obama before Oprah?"

Obama has been a National Politician to Watch for AT LEAST five years running. I first became aware of him back in 2003 or 2004. His success has little to do with Oprah Winfrey. If anything Oprah just recognized in him the same high quality that others did and wanted to share that with her audience. So what?

Revere: "This man has gained too much power in too short a time to be trusted."

What power do you mean -- the power of a Senator? Or the power to get people to vote for him for president? If the latter, it wouldn't be the first time somebody came out of relative obscurity to become a presidential front-runner. What was Bill Clinton, after all, if not a little-known governor of the podunk state of Arkansas (apologies to Arkansas podunks)?

Revere: "He is telling people what they want to hear."

Really? And what does that make Hillary Clinton, whose message is very similar to Obama's? Did Obama "tell people what they want to hear" when he spoke out very clearly against the Iraq war while Hillary Clinton was opening the barn doors as wide as possible for George Bush to drive tanks through?

Revere: "He is a kisser upper. He kissed his way in with the Kennedy's and Kerry and every other name dropper politician he could manage to get close to."

That's nice. Be sure to invalidate every endorsement of Obama's while failing to apply the same standard to those who endorse Clinton.

Revere: "Hillary has been tried and tested."

Hardly. Hillary Clinton barely has more Congressional experience than Obama does. She wasn't exactly tried and tested in the 1990s -- her husband was. Prior to that she worked in corporate law. How did that prepare her for public office?

Revere: "Young people who are cheer leading Obama do not remember the Clinton years when we had peace and some semblance of prosperity."

Be sure to tell young people they're too stupid to make an informed vote while you're at it. Also be sure to discount the huge numbers of people who are 30+ who are voting for Obama.

The "peace and prosperity" of the Clinton years were terrific, but Bill Clinton also made some major mistakes and had some detrimental policies. He is no fan of true progressives. I would give Bill Clinton's presidency a C+ or B-, while I'd give George Bush's presidency an F with about mile's worth of minuses after it. (Admittedly, by contrast Clinton's presidency is lookin' pretty keen!)

Revere: "This election is about electing a president, not a home coming king or a head cheer leader."

Gosh, thanks for explaining that to us.

Revere: "The media is biased toward Obama and are determined to defeat Clinton. Are we going to let them decide our future? Not me."

This has little to do with "the media." Incidentally did you know that Salon.com is part of the media? So is FOX-News. So is CNN (which some argue has a pro-Clinton bias). So are all the newspapers that are being relatively even-handed about everything.

You wish to discount all Obama supporters as if they're young, voting for a "homecoming king," swayed by the media, etc. Did it ever occur to you that many Obama supporters like him because they honestly believe he'd do the most credible job of president, based on a clear-headed assessment of his skills and leadership abilities?
