Gee, if Congress spent as much time on the Clintons as TERRORISM maybe there wouldn't have been 9/11.
Remember Character Counts?
I wonder if George Bush met the Republican High Standards for Steller Character and Integrity.
Don't worry - when I read Rodgers: "As a psychologist, I am convinced that it is virtually impossible to convince
someone to believe something they do not want to believe and Our ability to discount evidence and logic is formidable"-
I really had to smile and I thought about all the letters T
read on Salon!
Have you forgotten the Lewinsky scandal that swamped our nation and political process for years? This is essentially what I was referring to when I wrote about "personal weaknesses." A person who loses credibility with the American people will always have tremendous problems getting anything done. Bill Clinton made himself and his admin easy targets and BTW, he was no great shakes on ethics either. Not as bad as Dubya but this is just a very low point in governmental accountability right now. McCain would be better I have no doubt on this issue. Hillary Clinton? I'm not convinced and I voted twice for her husband.
You mean I am not changing minds?
I wish I was one of those "paid shills" I keep reading about. I am just a volunteer. I was never good at business.
Okay, so I bought both of his books, got the bumper stickers, watched his speeches, sent him $50 and played the will.i.am video over and over again. Now what?
Help me fellow Obama dudes - I'm getting bored here. Time to go check out that Japanese spa video on youtube...
hi James!
Obama's plan for Iraq goes like this: all combat brigades out within 16 months; some troops to protect embassy and diplomats; if al Qaeda attempts to build base in Iraq, deploy troops to carry out targeted strikes against them.
I would just check out the Issues portion of his website and see whether you like his ideas. Maybe you won't, maybe you will!
I can understand being initially suspicious of someone with a lot of charisma and speaking ability...I'm the same way! But once I read through that Issues part of his website I felt like he was the right candidate for me.
The Lewinsky scandel also had alot to do with the Republican Congress.
Which brings up a good point...while we are bantering ad nauseum about Obama/Clinton, we shouldn't take our eyes off the ball of the House and the Senate.
Even if a Dem takes the White House, who is to say the Scumbucket Republicans won't try all that again?
"More money, more resources and more hearings were spent investigating the Clintons on those fake partisan scandals during the 90's than was spent on the 911 commission. If that doesn't shame, embarrass and damn the GOP and the media in the eyes of history nothing will."
You are contending that the Repukeliscum will become "embarrass"ed? You cannot be serious. The 'Scum are without any possibility of embarrassment. In fact, the 'Scum theory of Public Discourse is the Goebbels theory - repeat, repeat, repeat the lie, until it becomes established wisdom. I see nothing in Repukeliscum conduct until now that suggests that they will change. They do not view these issues as vetted, but rather targets to be re-exploited.
First off, lets stop with this immature banter about Hillary Clinton.
I cannot believe there are people on here like "mjkoch" who have the nerve to describe her in this way.
I am sure you have never had the opportunity to meet Hillary Clinton and if you did, you would describe her in a more favorable way.
This write up from "mjkoch" just shows me again the ignorance that some of the Obama supporters have.
The "hate" needs to stop.
Do you really think the Republicans are going to change their ways and really change their points of view if Obama is nominated? This is wishful thinking, but I am sure it will not happen. You need to get over the thinking that Obama walks on water, because it is not true and he is just another "politician".
you are doing your best but as a Canadian a while ago stated here on a thread - If you love - ot even like a certain candidate you don;t want to hear all these pesky details or
nasty facts about him - don;t you?
Maybe others will address specifics however I wanted to say, I absolutely DETEST MOTIVATIONAL SPEAKERS. I have seen at least a dozen through my job.
Barack Obama is different. The dynamic and energy is not to motivate the self, but to motivate the collective responsibility.
If you get the chance to see him live do so.
Charisma Counts.
Last nite didn't mean anything. Two caucus states and Louisiana. That's not momentum, its a must win. Texas and Ohio are huge prizes.
I have become disgusted with the identity politics of the Democrats. I am disgusted about how Hillary is promoting a feminist slant to her campaign. I am disgusted about how people in the press have made various sexist remarks about Hillary, both those who oppose her (Chris Matthews!) and others.
I am disgusted about how people say this is "historical" because there is both a black man and a woman running.
The Clintons are slimy. That's why they do well. Obama is a decent man. Politics is not about decency.
John McCain is a WAR HERO. I wouldn't mind voting for him. Remember what the Bushies did to him in 2000? His own party.
Salon, particularly when its contributors go on television, has taken the CNN path and gotten behind Clinton from the outset. Wonder if this site is finally starting to sniff reality a little bit. Obama has been a serious contender for just over a month, folks. And look what he's done in that time. Clinton and her race-baiting corrupt husband are the past. With each passing state primary, whether caucus or traditional vote, it becomes more and more clear that individual American citizens have by and large had it with the Republicans and know that Clintons are not the way to move us out of the rut we're in as a nation. Here's hoping Salon takes its collective nose out of HRC's ass and starts reporting responsibly going forward. After that's accomplished, we can start talking about how all the money-grubbing ad shit on this site is rendering it unreadable, but I don't want to take on too much at one time :)
