Hillary's time of troubles

As Clinton and Obama spoke to Virginia Democrats on Saturday, the crowd's response -- and returns from Nebraska, Washington and Louisiana -- showed how the tide is turning.

The letters thread is now closed.

@ncawley - question for you

Hopefully, I will not have to say "I told you so", like I did say to the supporters of Bush.

Yes, unfortunately you will. But I have a question for you. Aren't you getting a little tired of it. I know I am. I told you so and two bucks will get you cup of coffee when your employer can fire you for no reason, when you pay higher taxes than Paris Hilton, when you have no health insurance and the economy looks like a Soviet Backwater from Buffalo to Bakersfield.

Not only that, but I get no satisfaction out of it because each election the Republicans just use some other transparent scheme or the other to trick the stubborn leftists. So Paul Newman and Phil Donahue learned the Ralph Nader was a ruse for Bush but now we have the same stripe of leftists have tricked half the Democrats into the country into thinking a guy with a near blank resume and whom Latins and Asians clearly don't like is going to be viable against McCain in electoral votes.

As others have noted this is the last time I'm going to have any vested interest in it. I'm focusing on my own survival now and suggest others do the same. With 4-8 years of President McCain you're going to need it.

DoloresFlowers

I have a better idea. Maybe YOU should take a break from your juvenile name-calling and misinformation campaigns and go back to the Free Republic or whatever rightwing crackpot website you probably came from as it would raise the iq of both THIS thread and also likely the one you join over there.

For example, yesterday you were willfully spewing all over that Mrs. Clinton had voted against the Ethics Reform Bill of 2007, spouting McCain would kill her in a debate over it, and some sorts of idiocy until I produced the actual votes demonstrating you to be a liar. Undoubtably you continue to peddle that misinformation elsewhere though.

You are indeed a foul pox on a democratic society.

Here we go again...

This divided, unimaginative, and arrogant debate is why we, the Democrats, will lose the White House again. Of course, we all dislike Bush and can't imagine that anyone would think the country is on the correct path. We believe that all we have to do is put forth a living, breathing candidate cast as "a change from Bush." We think that anyone in his/her right mind will vote for change. Do you seriously think that Karl Rove and the Neo-Cons will not hand our candidate his/her head on a plate in spite of their intense dislike for McCain? Put your time, energy, and money into preparing for a long fight against McCain--not each other--or get ready for our Democratic heads to roll again.

Obama is more than 'all style'

To all the people who criticize Obama for being 'all style no substance' - I can't give you a good argument in a sentence or two - but that's the point, you want something more than just a soundbite. If you still have a glimmer of openness toward Obama, I have a couple videos that I hope will change your mind.

First is Obama at Google - he gives a speech then an in depth Q+A with the geniuses working there. You can't BS these guys(if impatient go to 52:30 - he addresses 'experience'):

http://youtube.com/watch?v=m4yVlPqeZwo

Second is at a church where he speaks in depth about religion and the country. Thoughtful - Even atheists should watch.

@ANONYMOUS @6:12

As long as Hillary Clinton wins the nomination, then I will not have to worry about those things.

I know that Hillary Clinton will provide affordable health insurance, I know I will not be paying more taxes than good old Paris and I know I will not lose my job.

At least I know who I am voting for and the reasons I am voting, which is more than I can say for people posing as democrats.

I have the highest regard for Senator Clinton. I just wished some of these "young folk" had lived and struggled through the Bush administration and were born to appreciate the Bill Clinton presidency.

A few things you left out Delores

First, whatever Obama started with, there's no question he ended up very comfortable from his stints in Illinois politics. Connections and kickbacks and 2 million dollar homes from a slumlord, mysterious salary increases for his wife. Similarly he has sat back and enjoyed the neolib and GOP sponsored promotion of him as being the God of Antiwar Activism, where as his voting history and statements cast much doubt on that. His campaign, after denying being involved, was then found to indeed have engineered the twisting of a harmless speech on MLK by Hillary into a race war among black voters.

There are many many reasons to question his credibility, but for your own reasons, you won't so why discuss it.

John Edwards in 2004 was not qualified to be President which is why he was shooting for the VP. But that's a side issue now. To answer your question I do wonder if he has more helped or hurt our chances. After all, it was he, not Barrack Obama who first began the character assasinations of Mrs. Clinton - and this after he himself had "voted for Iraq".

I agree with everything you said, but don't see how it happens now. Either they succeed in promoting an unviable candidate, or she may be unduly crippled now for having to fight for the primary so expensively and bitterly.

The Fork's Been Stuck In...

...the only question is: Who's going to have the honor of pulling it out?

Headline: Campaign Manager Quits

Mrs. Clinton is done.

Now let's enjoy the match between the "Human, All Too Human" John McCain versus the "Bionic" Barack Obama.

And the VP choice will give a good hint of who's the shrewder of the two.

@anon

Do you seriously think that Karl Rove and the Neo-Cons will not hand our candidate his/her head on a plate in spite of their intense dislike for McCain?

I actually believe they cherry-picked McCain because he's the only candidate that even has a shot at picking up the Latin vote and reversing their trend of losing in the west. Coulter and Limbaugh's rants, are merely rehearsed rhetoric to make the general electorate, most of whom is in the middle, believe McCain to be more moderate than he is.

But they always have a plan B and that's Barrack.
