Hillary's time of troubles

As Clinton and Obama spoke to Virginia Democrats on Saturday, the crowd's response -- and returns from Nebraska, Washington and Louisiana -- showed how the tide is turning.

The letters thread is now closed.

@Roger64

Test of your theory. "As a psychologist, I am convinced that it is virtually impossible to convince someone to believe something they do not want to believe."

You state that the clinton scandals revolved solely around bill's personal behavior. I think that is ridiculous, and there are numerous facts to refute it. As a psychologist, I hope you remember the scientific method, the manner in which knowledge is confirmed, and will consider the following;

1. The clinton administration illegally obtained FBI files on their political opponents. They blamed it on a former bouncer and member of their security staff. That was either incompetence, or a lie.

2. hillary's law firm billing records were subpoenaed, but could not be found. Then they turned up in a White House storage room, just after a statue of limitations expired. No one knew how they got there. . . .think the Republicans planted them?

3. The pardons. Marc Rich. hillary's brother getting paid by people seeking (and getting) pardons.

4. Money from China. Gross violations of campaign funding.

This list is far from complete. None involve clinton sexcapades. This past year, hillary received a bunch of illegal campaign contributions, which she returned,...after it became public.

Please do not be a victim of your own theory of how people form their beliefs.

"It is worth mentioning that the Clintons come as close as anyone logically can to having been proven innocent."

Of the Whitewater real estate deal

But, there was never any official investigation into H. Clinton's unlikely success in trading in cattle futures. She gave a poised press conference and the press dropped the issue. Since the trading did not involve her husband, or her husband acting in an official capacity, there wasn't much reason for prosecutors to pursue it.

If she's the candidate, Republicans would still have an opening, though perhaps it's too stale now.

At what point did you realize the Right Wing smear machine of the 1990's was effective? I am not sure what President Clinton getting impeached, despite the general population not wanting him impeached, meant to you?

Can you, as a psychologist, maybe understand, that people don't want to navel gaze that era again? That what might be a sense of some people's political justice doesn't mean a hill of beans to many of us when we have bigger fish to fry? That we really have been there, done that, did our best, and want to move on?

Maybe as a psychologist, you can understand that if people support Barack Obama, they actually might think he is qualified and it might not be because people Hate Hillary Clinton, but they just don't want the Clinton Package, all the same?

And yes, there are alot of people who hate her? And most of them are Republicans?

If she does not get through a Democratic Primary, I am not sure why anyone thinks she would have carried November.

If she does, the vast majority of us will vote for her and be happy for our decision.

This is an election, not a counsuling session.

Clinton scandals

More money, more resources and more hearings were spent investigating the Clintons on those fake partisan scandals during the 90's than was spent on the 911 commission. If that doesn't shame, embarrass and damn the GOP and the media in the eyes of history nothing will.

You are electing a political leader, not a chief of staff or a CEO. The number "skill" for a President is not management or experience. It is to be able create a broad support in society to push forward, to get over the 50+1 mindset, to aim at 60. Obama may delivery that. No matter what you think about them, the Clintons never will.

At this point, it is clear to me that Obama can win the GE in a landslide. Hillary can barely win.

@AlecsMom: How Dare you.....

How dare you state that the administration of President Bill Clinton did not do anything for our country.

Lets give credit where credit is due and not knock down the great administration of President Clinton in order to pump up your candidate.

It is obvious to me that the people voting for Obama are doing so based on his sermons of “Inspiration”.

The administration of President Bill Clinton afforded all of us a time when we didn’t have this foreclosure circus, when we had less unemployment and a time of peace.

You either were a child at the time he was president or you forget what his administration did for the economy, which included balancing the budget and creating a surplus for our country.

It is easy for all of these people to forget what Senator Clinton has done for them, which includes:

Hillary ran a legal aid clinic for the poor when she first got to Arkansas and handled cases of foster care and child abuse.

When she was just 30, President Carter appointed her to the board of the United States Legal Services Corporation, a federal nonprofit program that funds legal assistance for the poor.

She also served on national boards for the Children's Defense Fund, the Child Care Action Campaign, and the Children's Television Workshop.

She led the American Bar Association's Commission on Women in the Profession, which played a pioneering role in raising awareness of issues like sexual harassment and equal pay.

She traveled the globe speaking out against the degradation and abuse of women and standing up for the powerful idea that women's rights are human rights.

In 2000, Hillary was elected to the United States Senate from New York. As Senator, Hillary has continued her advocacy for children and families.

I am open to reason and actual facts as to why you would vote for Obama. I think a lot of the people who write on these posts are only doing so to spread his name, but I have never once been informed why that person thinks Obama’s history allows him the chance to be our president.

The position of President of the United States should not be taken lightly and if you can show me what he has done for people before running for president, I would be more than happy to read it.
