Billary's down more than 15 points to Obama in Maine with 60% of the votes counted. Let's hear the apologists for Big Bill and His Big One 'splain another one away. That's, what, around 24 states for Obama, 9 for Billary. But she's been guaranteed the nomination 'cause she's a woman, W O M A N. Hillary is an effective senator, Bill was an above average President (he only looks stellar because of the moron that followed him) and Chelsea is a fine young woman. I've nothing against them, other than their piss and moan victim playing and sense of entitlement about the nomination. That, and Billary is exactly who the fascists want to run against.
sorry in my previous post I inadvertently inserted an italic marker and it makes it look like I'm citing you where I wasn't.
I think I'm Maureen O'Donnell. I'm not using a nom-de-plume just my own very commom-or-garden Irish name. My first name was the one given to me by my parents and the surname is the one I took when I married. You see, I'm not your common-or-garden feminist insofar as I had no particular objection to the name and I wasn't out to prove any point. Since we're
into literary allusions, I could say that "A rose is a rose is a rose.
You took it upon yourself to interpret what I'd written as if it was mumbo-jumbo. I had the notion that my English is fluent. I was engaged in what I'll loosely refer to as a "discussion" with Xrandudu Hutman who, apparently, disappeared into the shadows and then you came on to explain what I had written. I call that somewhat arrogant but, of course, you can suit yourself, which is just another one of our quaint sayings. I'm not really chastised, AJ Calhou, because I was told I was a "bold girl" by my parents and my grandparents totally disagreed with them. I love the oul' bit of quotation but that word "slatternly" is not very nice because it seems to refer only to women. Anyway, AJ Calhoun, have a pleasant nap. I'll say no more tonight because I'm sorry for upsetting you.
The level of your commentary, its depth and profundity, is just, I mean... wow.
Yes, the entire IS industry has gone that way. It was a shame. IN the 90's there was enough economic growth for us AND India, but not in the Bush years. No way. Thank God I had enough savings to retrain myself at my own expense and time of course that meant almost 3 years without any income and a complete depletion of my savings; one I have still not recovered from and probably won't. HOwever as you say, I'm one of the lucky ones.
It's because I HAVE seen so much suffering and job loss and poverty under two terms of Bush that I'm as intolerant I am of the neolibs who are knowingly or not, only insuring a McCain victory.
It's because I know McCain's election means the end of employer provided healthcare for millions and millions of middle-aged Americans and kids who need it and without a viable alternative such as Hillary offers. (Go buy your own is not a solution for most of the folks seen in the hospital these days).
So no, to answer somebody's question, I am not a "paid operative" for Hillary. I do it quite voluntarily because I know the real stakes.
Walter Shapiro fails to note that Clinton never expected to win any of the weekend contests. And anybody who looks at the states voting on Saturday can't seriously believe that Clinton would have won in any of them.
There is still a long way to go in this campaign and we haven't seen the other shoe drop with regard to Barack Obama. That the media continues to give him a free ride shouldn't set well with anybody. The longer that he keeps getting a pass, the greater are the chances that even a "small" something will bite him -- and the Democrats -- and once again cost Democrats the election in November.
others have said it but it bears repeating: in states with a lot of dem VOTERS Hillary is winning. Obama is winning dem caususes in REPUBLICAN states and states where the Dem electorate is mostly black, some states are neither reliably Dem nor Republican and obama is doing ok in some of them but the trend is clear.
I'll refrainf from writing what I really think of you, although I'm tempted. The "Good Soldier" is/was General Colin Powell and it was AJ Calhoun who called him that. I hope you're having fun with my surname but I think it's much better than Anonymous, a species that seems to breed like rabbits. I really haven't time to waste on someone who has trouble reading but I'm sure there are literacy classes somewher near you. You should avail of them. Good night and buzz off!

Well, it's obvious why the Republicans are showing up to vote for him for anyone to whom this isn't the first election watching. But when there are more "Democrats" voting for him in red states than there have been Democratic votes cast in the past three election cycles combined, a reasoning person with elementary mathematical skills might get suspicious.
After his Iowa win the free Republican was all joy about how the loser Dems had just promoted their weakest candidate. Give John McCain a credit for rare honesty; he is the only public politican to say it outright: "Barrack Obama is not qualified to be President".
I think they know they can prove that in about five minutes. The GOP may be lousy at governing but they're lethal at political strategy. Anyone who doesn't realize that much truly must have been born yesterday.
