As long as Hillary Clinton wins the nomination, then I will not have to worry about those things.
I know that Hillary Clinton will provide affordable health insurance, I know I will not be paying more taxes than good old Paris and I know I will not lose my job.
At least I know who I am voting for and the reasons I am voting, which is more than I can say for people posing as democrats.
I have the highest regard for Senator Clinton. I just wished some of these "young folk" had lived and struggled through the Bush administration and were born to appreciate the Bill Clinton presidency.
To all the people who criticize Obama for being 'all style no substance' - I can't give you a good argument in a sentence or two - but that's the point, you want something more than just a soundbite. If you still have a glimmer of openness toward Obama, I have a couple videos that I hope will change your mind.
First is Obama at Google - he gives a speech then an in depth Q+A with the geniuses working there. You can't BS these guys(if impatient go to 52:30 - he addresses 'experience'):

Second is at a church where he speaks in depth about religion and the country. Thoughtful - Even atheists should watch.

This divided, unimaginative, and arrogant debate is why we, the Democrats, will lose the White House again. Of course, we all dislike Bush and can't imagine that anyone would think the country is on the correct path. We believe that all we have to do is put forth a living, breathing candidate cast as "a change from Bush." We think that anyone in his/her right mind will vote for change. Do you seriously think that Karl Rove and the Neo-Cons will not hand our candidate his/her head on a plate in spite of their intense dislike for McCain? Put your time, energy, and money into preparing for a long fight against McCain--not each other--or get ready for our Democratic heads to roll again.
I have a better idea. Maybe YOU should take a break from your juvenile name-calling and misinformation campaigns and go back to the Free Republic or whatever rightwing crackpot website you probably came from as it would raise the iq of both THIS thread and also likely the one you join over there.
For example, yesterday you were willfully spewing all over that Mrs. Clinton had voted against the Ethics Reform Bill of 2007, spouting McCain would kill her in a debate over it, and some sorts of idiocy until I produced the actual votes demonstrating you to be a liar. Undoubtably you continue to peddle that misinformation elsewhere though.
You are indeed a foul pox on a democratic society.
Hopefully, I will not have to say "I told you so", like I did say to the supporters of Bush.
Yes, unfortunately you will. But I have a question for you. Aren't you getting a little tired of it. I know I am. I told you so and two bucks will get you cup of coffee when your employer can fire you for no reason, when you pay higher taxes than Paris Hilton, when you have no health insurance and the economy looks like a Soviet Backwater from Buffalo to Bakersfield.
Not only that, but I get no satisfaction out of it because each election the Republicans just use some other transparent scheme or the other to trick the stubborn leftists. So Paul Newman and Phil Donahue learned the Ralph Nader was a ruse for Bush but now we have the same stripe of leftists have tricked half the Democrats into the country into thinking a guy with a near blank resume and whom Latins and Asians clearly don't like is going to be viable against McCain in electoral votes.
As others have noted this is the last time I'm going to have any vested interest in it. I'm focusing on my own survival now and suggest others do the same. With 4-8 years of President McCain you're going to need it.
anonymous maybe you should take a break. Every time I go away and come back to read here I find you as hate-filled as before.
You write:
He joined the Dem party in Chicago for connections to get rich,
How does his decision to accept a $10,000 per year job community organizing after graduating from Columbia and Occidental fit in with your assessment of him?
and milked them well tossing aside anyone who got in the way,
Do you mean Alan Keyes?
his constituents, public housing tenants, indicted slumlords and so forth and then decided he was qualified to be President without even finishing a single term in the presidency.
John Edwards ran for President after finishing less than one term his first try too. Are you also angry at him?
He and his fawning neolibs who should bloody damned well know better by now have crippled our strongest candidate.
So you are trying to cripple our second strongest candidate? If you don't want to vote for him, don't vote for him, but I don't think that the strong language and anger toward Obama is helping your cause with anyone who isn't already committed.
Obama has done this for his own ambitions knowing damned well he doesn't have a chance against McCain once the press turns on his resume and colorful history which they will assuredly do the moment they are sure Hillary really is done.
Anonymous, what you're talking about could happen to either of the candidates. Hillary will probably be attacked for her finances and I find it troubling that she hasn't released her tax forms. Bill's post presidency work will be examined ad nauseum. There's no reprieve if Clinton is the nominee.
He is a Democrat with a commitment to Democratic values the same way Ralph Nader was a Green committed to Green values and you'll have to examine your own reasons for refusing to admit that reality to yourself if you really ARE a Democrat, which I doubt.
So if a person reaches a different conclusion than you do, they are no longer a Democrat?
Anonymous, Nader ran as an independent and he "took" only a small percentage of the voters. Most people didn't bother to show up. Why don't you acknowledge that no one knows for sure how this is going to turn out. Clinton, Obama and McCain are all strong candidates who have shown more tenacity and ingenuity than their detractors have acknowledged. If you're wrong about Obama's chances, then you're just here all day long tearing him down for no reason at all. And that would be a shame for you to waste your valuable time doing something like that.
Especially if you are a true Democrat, as you say that you are.
Peace.
