  • To the Anon poster who mentioned "It takes a village."

She served as president of the Wellsley Young Republicans during her freshman year - meaning that when people call her a Republican the fact is she actually has enough ties to that party to run as one.

She also served on the board of Wal-Mart.

    Communist she ain't.

  • Necrophiliacs like WES love Hillary

And why wouldn't they, she's a very attractive substitute for a rotting corpse.

  • RE: Finally

Actually, Salon will make your skin crawl if you don't support Hillary.

  • RE: Ann Coulter, WES, that looks like a misprint...

Clearly you meant her dick in your butt.

  • @ bluechicago

Reread my post. I didn't say that you were arguing electability, but many people -- one whom I addressed previously -- are.

However, I should have worded my most more carefully so that there was no mistaking that I was posting on you specifically as hopin' and others as making unwarranted assumptions on electability.

Just to be clear: You are counting your chickens and hopin'. Others are arguing electability.

  • Ann Coulter is so despicable

I would not fuck that woman with your dick, Wes.

  • I Elevate Above

The peasantry and their petty emotional outbursts.

  • The Notorious W.E.S. IS Hillary Clinton!

Look! They have the same attitude and demeanor toward humanity!

  • biancom

The reason so much of the media is against Hillary Clinton is because a lot of it is actually FOR her.

Americans as a nation despise their news services as being lazy, dishonest, self-superior pricks. This is in part because while you might jump in and save a drowning baby, a press man's best instinct is to pull out a camera and wax poetic about the humanity involved.

So, the press knows that if they tell you to do something in a certain way, you will probably do the opposite because hey, its the press that is saying do XYZ.

For example: If the press tells you that women are incapable of governing countries, you are more likely to vote for a woman. Why? Because you do not like thinking of yourself as a bigot and you would seriously like to show them. The same is true of if the press says the same thing about black people.

  • @ To the previous Anonymous who was complaining that I wrote about Obama snubbing Senator Clinton at the State of the Union Address:

I have linked to it here:

    http://letters.salon.com/news/feature/2008/01/30/hillary/view/index22.html

I am not the least bit ashamed of it because it is every bit as relevant, if not more so, than Hillary Clinton's non-crying. If tearing up a bit can make news so can snubbing.

I gave links in my post to photos. A picture is worth a thousand words.

  • @ Person

I am not even going to begin trying to understand your diabolical mind. Your conspiracy theorizing would tax the my meager pyschological insight. But could you please provide links to media outlets that are actually pro-Hillary Clinton because I have only been able to find one?

  • AKA Smith

you're giving feminism a bad name. If snubbing counts then snubbing counts--many have noted that Clinton snubbed him too when he first decided to run.

And milking a snubbing counts as badly as using tears to drum up sympathy when and if no sympthy is necessary.

a fellow (but less easily emotionally manipulated I guess) feminist

  • AKA

I'll try to type this sloooow. The point of my post was that it was widely reported that HILLARY SNUBBED OBAMA in the senate months earlier when she learned of his intention to run for president. This was widely reported in places like the ny times and salon.

    http://www.nytimes.com/2007/08/07/us/politics/07rivals.html

No emotional rant about this ? Your hypocrisy is your worst enemy.

  • Facts about last night

Wes, I know I shouldn't bother trying to use actual information against your proven gut feelings, but here are some facts from last night's "big, big loss" for Obama:

Both candidates recieved about 7.3 million votes.

Obama will end up with more delegates, somewhere between 1 and 15.

Obama won 14 states, Clinton 6.

  • Super Tuesday

This is not a war! We, the democratic voters, are torn between two great choices. I think most of us will have absolutely no problem voting for either one. I for one, did not decide until I was in the voting booth, and it pained me to no end that I had to choose one over the other.

As for Obama's position on Israel, Ms. Goldfeder's (who was mentioned in the article)statement that, "I am Jewish, and I haven't heard him say a word about Israel" is just plain wrong (and I heard this from several Jewish acquaintances). For any serious candidate, from either party, to be hostile to Israel is committing a political suicide. And I say it as an American born in Israel, and who still cares for it passionately.

Better to think of the make-up of the Supreme Court if a Republican is elected. better think of the social inequality that will worsen under 8 more years of Republican rule.

  • OBAMA SUPPORTERS GO WASH YOUR MOUTHS WITH SOAP

You people of the vulgar posts ... this is a presidential election, not a porn movie. If you are the representatives of the "Obama Hope Movement" god help this country. Your filthy disrespect for Obama's opposition and each other is appalling. If you don't know enough about what a president does or where Washington DC is, go play with your legos. Or just go away.

  • @ maureenodonnell 10:19 AM

Thank you for popping in. You gave me a good laugh. Your post was indeed inspirational and struck the "ragers" on target.

  • "We ar'e the ones we've been waiting for"

    TO: kidcostar

This line in Obama's speech that so impressed you, is not his, or rather not that of his speechwriter, Jon Favreau.

It's a Hopi Indian saying, quoted by Maria Shriver at the Oprah UCLA rally last Saturday. She was gracious enough to give credit to the Hopis. Obama just appropriated it.

If good speeches are all some of you need to elect someone president, then vote for Jon Favreau. He's amazing.

  • huh

    over 60%

States Obama won with (so far) more than 60% of the vote:

    Alaska (over 70%)

    Colorado

    Georgia

    Idaho (over 70%)

    Illinois

    Kansas (over 70%)

    Minnesota

    North Dakota

States Clinton won with (so far) more than 60% of the vote:

    Arkansas

Now, some of Obama's were caucuses, but that's pretty decent for the guy who was polling 20 behind not so long ago. Also it's interesting to note that while Obama pulled over 60% in his home state of Illinois, he pulled off a big chunk of Clinton's support in New York-- 40%.

I like Clinton-- nearly voted for her in the primary, will vote for her in the general-- but I was surprised by these numbers. She's fighting off some big percentages, and that 40% for Obama here in NY means more delegates than she had expected to lose. Of course she did grab Calif and NY, no small feat. It just looks like she needs to stave off the Obama Advance.
