Thanks, maureen
For a minute there I almost had hope! Your words, and your words alone, are responsible for bringing me back to earth! I now support the candidate who warned us against "false hope!" Gosh, cynical pragmatism and "50% + 1" scorched-earth dirty tricks are so much better than optimism or a desire to transform American politics and win a true Democratic majority! And those lines of poetry really opened my eyes! I've been dancing by the light of the moon when I could have been reading Hillary's 200-page single-payer healthcare takeover proposal! I HAVE been taken in by a Pied Piper who made me wish for better things! I HAVEN'T carefully considered and researched my vote! I'm only in love with a sound bite, a smile, a dream!
Um, give us some credit, honey. If I were Michelle Obama, I wouldn't be able to take your condescension in a second campaign, either.

Bill Clinton?
Do you mean the Bill Clinton? The one who roasted women and children alive in Waco? Yep. That was quite the little Presdidency.

To iorpheus: Was it Chinese tea or Indian tea?
China and India are the booming economies of the East with huge populations. This is significant for your economy. I don't think you should consider a career in clairvoyance, however, as your prediction about Barack Obama in 2012 does not tally with Michelle Obama's assertion that "It's now or never".
Anyway, although I don't get to vote in the U.S election and have no particular talents as a soothsayer, I'm going to bet on the outcome of the Presidential election. We like gambling, particularly on horses, but the "bookies" take bets on most important events. I'm going to bet on John McCain, having considered the shambles the two Democrat contenders have either created or allowed to be created around them. At this early stage, I should get good odds on McCain.

how about
all the time bill spent wet-kissing bush senior after the tsunami? personally I think Obama should play some of those spots, because they just show how, behind the sceens, bill and hillary are in bed with the republican party.

Hillary and Bill have an entitlement mentatility they think Black Voters owe them..
For Black voters to observed a has been celebrity trying to extort them for votes based upon his claim that he was a good master to the coloreds is truly only something that our country could create..
A white man in Blackface on the Black radio stations playing the Black race card on Black people this is truly insane..

wrong
"Do you mean the Bill Clinton? The one who roasted women and children alive in Waco? Yep. That was quite the little Presdidency."
Wrong. David Koresh was a cult leader who committed suicide and took his devotees with him.

Down with dynasty
> Or would you prefer another pointless noble flame-out?
In the long view, flame-out would be preferable to oligarchy. This isn't Pakistan. Family politics must go.

Iorpheous--You Are Right
If Clinton wins the nomination, the Dems will lose the Presidency, again. The reason is that tens of millions of people like me, lifelong democrats, won't vote for her, under any circumstances.
I am the demographic that is supposed to be her strongest constituency--baby boomer, female, professional. However, I have been around long enough to see her ilk in the workplace, men and women who want a job for the power and prestige.
When they get the job, they always fail because they have no empathy, no common sense, no creativity, very limited problem-solving skills, and no humility. As a country, we cannot afford this kind of leadership--again!
I'll probably sit it out or vote third party but I will not do anything to support this travesty.

One Theory from Someone Who Will Always Love Bill
From the beginning, more than a year ago, I couldn't figure out why Hillary kept making stupid mistakes despite getting advice from the greatest political mind and campaigner of our generation.
Then it dawned on me: she was stumbling because he was giving her advice.
Deliberately bad advice.
Blessed Bill. Doing the right thing for the country. Still.

UGH
and she deserves to be president why?
Maybe if she had something to offer, as in, she has not been bought yet by corporate taskmasters.
But she doesn't, and you will worship her anyway, because you have no self respect.
-
what if
"If Clinton wins the nomination, the Dems will lose the Presidency, again. The reason is that tens of millions of people like me, lifelong democrats, won't vote for her, under any circumstances."
What if Barack is on the ticket?

NO MORE!!!
Bush, Clinton, Clinton, Bush, Bush, Clintons, Clintons.
No thanks.

The only candidate worth backing
is the only one speaking truth, supporting us peasants, and generally being a thorn in the side of the unified corporate/media/government Corruption & Evil engine.
That candidate is of course Ron Paul.
The Ron Paul who has generated more money than any candidate these past three months, has more people googling him than any candidate.
The one who is constantly marginalized by the corrupto-media establishment.
Is it too much to ask to want a candidate who will REDUCE the size of our overwhelmingly gigundous government? The government right now enacting new ways to circumvent our rights, studying how to control our actions thru non lethal weaponry, and generally spying on our every move? IS THAT WHAT YOU PEOPLE WANT??? Is this what you want your children to live in, such filth?
Either you hate America and want it to go bankrupt and fascist on you, in which case vote for your clown du jour-- Hill, Huck, Osama-- pick one, they are all the same.
Or you vote your mind and your conscience, the one GOD HANDED YOU AT BIRTH and you vote for the guy who at least professes to want to place the US on the right path again. Believe me, he will have an uphill battle in Washington, fighting against the entrenched interests who are allied against We the People.
BUT AT LEAST WE WILL BE HEADED IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION.
Is Ron Paul electable? I dunno, you tell me. Ross Perot got 19% of the vote when the US was hardly a fraction as bad off as it is now. Clintonski won that same year with 38% of the vote. A factor of two.
If there is one time in your life when you should actually USE your God-given brain and vote intelligently, it is when a guy stands up there and tells you what is wrong and what needs to be done and how he will do it-- HONESTLY. YOu may not agree with less government, fewer taxes, but you know inside it is the right path if this country is to survive.
Ron Paul is as electable as you and I want him to be. He has massive interest among the left the right AND the center. Show me ANY other candidate who has that appeal.
Trust these people who support Ron Paul, they are concerned about the direction this country is taking.
Ron Paul WILL be president, as long as you are honest and vote your conscience and give these ass clowns like Hill and huck the HEAVE HO and tell the snotty fascisto bankers and their corporate goons to get the FUCK OUT OF THE USA.
