Barak Obama says his supporters may not support Hillary if she wins the nomination
He said this on television. He said that if he, Barak wins the nomination, Hillary's supporters will vote for him in the general elections. However, his supporters may not vote for Hillary, if she wins. I see two possibilities here for this paragon of unity and change:
1. If Bark loses the primaries, he may run as an independent, thereby assuring Hillary and the Democratic party a definite defeat.
2. Barak will not actively support Hillary in her bid for the presidency, although he is certain that Hillary's supporters will vote for him should he win the primaries.
So much for the "uniter" and not the divider, the "healer" and not the one inflicting the wounds.

Chhabili, I'm sure you are being deliberately facetious, but of course there is a third possibility far more plausible than the ones you posit -- that Senator Obama would indeed support Senator Clinton's candidacy, but that many of the independent and even Republican voters who have supported him in the primaries would refuse to do so. That is what he was talking about, and I have little doubt that he's right.
and the repubs scrape in, everyone will say "gollleee, why didn't we go with the 'champion-of-the-people' white guy?"
an edwards/obama ticket, or edwards/clinton, looks like a reasonable way to close off the faint hope the repubs might have. but hey, 8 years of dubya did no real harm, right? and better the grandees of the democrat party should indulge their egos at the expense of the nation, right?
unless you think edwards is a substantially worse candidate, of course. and it is true, corporations are not rushing to support his candidacy, and the mejah clones ignore him. but we are talking about the democrat party, aren't we? maybe gore vidal was right:"... a right wing party, and a farther right wing party."
still, putting aside concerns about national survival for the moment, doesn't the prospect of a woman or african american as democrat candidate warm your your little heart?
Any Obama supporter who is childish and puerile enough to throw a hissy fit and vote for a Republican or not at all instead of Clinton in a general election richly, richly deserves the next 100 years in Iraq and the next several trillion dollars in debt.
God. I hope so.
Many of the Obama supporters you speak about are the most likely to be serving in that war in Iraq--and no I don't believe they deserve all the blame for not supporting your Democratic candidate of choice.
Obama has learned to speak to a new generation that doesn't have party ties or loyalties. If Obama can learn this skill, either the Democratic party needs to reward him for it by giving him the nomination, or it needs to insist that the winning candidate learn from his approach.
If the Democratic party won't nominate a person who can reach the same number of voters that Obama can or more--then they (we) deserve to be out of power for a hundred years--at least.
Don't you think?
Any Obama supporter who is childish and puerile enough to throw a hissy fit and vote for a Republican or not at all instead of Clinton in a general election richly, richly deserves the next 100 years in Iraq and the next several trillion dollars in debt.
I am a registered Democrat. I am an Obama supporter. I will not vote for Hillary in the general if she is not the candidate that I prefer.
It's not a "hissy fit", I vote for my principals, and due to the way she has acted during this primary, with the lies and mudslinging and racebaiting, I do not believe that HRC has the moral authority to be president. Now, if I see the same kind of Rovian tactics from anyone, EVEN OBAMA, I would turn on them just as quickly.
I would vote for McCain over her for sure. That hurts to say, but at this point, I would.
Of course, I live in Utah, so it doesn't matter, but still, I am sure there are alot of people, NOT just Obama supporters that feel the same way.
We have an opportunity to grow the Democratic party and the Progressive movement, but the HRC campaign would rather win at any cost rather than try to win cleanly without damaging the party.
