  • won't get fooled again

you're always running the same attacks in your posts.

Name the instance when Obama leveled a charge of racism against Clinton?

Clinton made remarks that others made comments and her main complaint was that he didn't come to her rescue....fast enough? He has made gracious remarks about her civil rights stance. Calling a remark "unfortunate" (when others in the media had already more than done the same) does not equal a racism charge. Just knock off the drama, right-o?

Sad that that's the only way you can drum up sympathy for your candidate. Falsely claiming that a black man called her a racist (even though he did not). And the memo of her statement was also simply a memo--it was not ever used. It was only his camp paying attention--just like her camp pays attention to "unfortunate" remarks about Hillary's gender.

As Bill would say, "give me a break."

  • Hillary has no problem playing the white privledged feminist card against a one drop rule Obama

she played this card in NH, MI all white states with lots of white woman..

Obama must defeat Bill to win over white voters even some white female voters who resent what Bill did to Hillary..

Obama must strike hard against Bill for me the question is can he muster up enough Blackness since he has been the good negro/colored Tiger Woods guy in the campaign..

Bill is the key to Obama's win not Hillary she has as many detractors as supporters..

  • My guess is that what Hillary is really thinking about all of this is...

... "after I get the nomination, and Bill and I offer the Vice Presidential nomination to Barack, the make-up sex is going to be amazing."

And no, I'm not talking about her nonexistent sex with Bill or her unmentionable sex with Huma, or any imaginary sex with Barack.

No, I'm talking about the blissful, orgasmic honeymoon that the press will bestow on a Clinton-Obama ticket. Oprah could do the whole of October on them alone, couldn't she? Which probably won't be enough to get the two of them elected.

  • White folks in America do not like sharing power neither the GOP or DEMS have had a Black on the ticket

it is obvious that Edwards will be the VP candidate . Obama can win by defeating Bill and making the case we do not need another Clinton in the white house.

McCain/Romney ticket cannot win the white house given last 8 years of GOP rule in the white house.

Now is the moment for Obama to make a strong move, Hillary will not win in the Southern States given the demographics. Obama can win in the wet with so help from Edwars to offset hispanics who will vote for a white woman over black man.

Obama must get Edwards on his ticket and defeat Bill a figure that many black and white voters now do not like now. Obam must stop pretending not to be a one drop rule man and used his assets to dominate Hillary and Bill..

Is he willing to play hard ball??

  • @Thrasher

    hey thraser ...

i am begining to think that obama, with all his talents, will not be able to convince some (racist?) elements of the core dem electorate that he can forge a new majority. i think he is playing against a stacked deck ... mainly that the dem party establishment will not "really" endorse or support him because his reformer antics will shine a light on the dem establishment hypocrisy and double-dealing (see fisa fight going on).

i hope he can do it, and i agree that edwards in his court is key. but i think clinton gets that, hence her "secret meeting" with edwards.

if he can't ... i think obama would lose credibility (in my eyes) and his message would be diluted by a vp nod by clinton. i also think there's no way she'll offer it.

so ... i am actually hoping he'll go indy and that bloombrg would run (and pay for) his ticket as his vp. inspiration + real world business coo seems unbeatable with a mccain/idiot, clinton/edwards, obama/bloomberg election.

You can agree to disagree with people and still retain some measure of respect and credibility. You however, take potshots at people, by name calling and churlish ire. Whatever your political persuasion, do raise important issues and concerns, but do refrain from bullying and name calling i.e. anal anonymous, who is a thoughtful and humorous poster.

  • Problems with this article. . .

Why is the article written in a way that reverses how the events actually unfolded last night? It makes it sound as if Hillary threw the first knife, when in fact Obama was the first to lash out. I believe both comments are in bounds and it is silly to pretend that Republicans would not bring them up if Democrats did not. More importantly, the PRESENT vote should be examined by the Democratic faithful because many of those votes dealt with Pro-choice issues. While it got a bit ugly, we as a people must vet our candidates, even if one of them is candidate of "hope." The only other thing I disliked in the debate was how Obama said it wasn't about race but he kept making jokes about Edwards's race. To tell it once, fine, but three times, ridiculous.

  • Totoro, though possible, odds are against it.

While there's certainly a case to be made that Edwards would rather have Obama win the nomination over Clinton, I don't see much chance of an Obama-Edwards ticket coming out of Denver come convention time. After having to sit in the backseat on the '04 ticket watching Kerry's inept advisors fumble at every critical juncture, it's doubtful Edwards would be willing to put up with a VP slot without guarantees of having a say in how things are run and it's doubtful Obama's team would ever agree to that.

I've seen countless stump speeches from every former and present candidate and while most of the others change thier pitches a little to alot over time, Edwards's talk to the audience is almost word for word the same as what it was a year ago. Anybody who's caught him on tour knows that one of his core selling points is his refusal to take big-money lobbyist contributions and it resonates extremely well with his biggest backers. Hitching his wagon to an Obama campaign with considerable corporate funding would likely be deemed by Edwards die-hards as "joining them" as opposed to "fighting them" as Edwards often boasts that he's done so often.

What's even less likely is that Edwards would even listen to an offer for the VP slot from Clinton for more than a span of 5 seconds without hanging up the phone. He knows how much the Progressives that he courts are repulsed by the DLC stranglehold and next to Lieberman, there's nobody those folks have less regard for than the Clinton inner circle. Had that ever been a possibility, Clinton's campaign already would have that deal made and Edwards wouldn't be running in South Carolina where the polls have shown him taking nearly one out of three women voters away from Clinton in a state where she needs all of them to have a chance at catching Obama. That by itself is a good indicator of why he's still trying to hang around in a race for the nomination that's most likely been out of his reach since last summer.
