  • So, like, is it a done deal that none of these POTUS wannabes will agree to run as Vice Prez if they're not picked as the nominee?

Because I find it very hard to imagine any of them wanting to work together ever again - and that includes in the Senate, if that should come to pass (can you tell I'm an Edwards fan?).

I know that old chestnut about politicians who can wrangle "on the floor" as it were and then kiss and make up and merrily go hand-in-hand to some lobbyist's posh catered event, but one wonders if this is all really just a dog-and-pony show and bygones will ever be bygones again.

    Just a thought.

  • Clinton spin not to snare Obama

The web of racial nuance that Bill and Hillary Clinton are trying to spin around Barack Obama is as absurd as some of the repubs denial of evolution in favor of the biblical explanation of creation. Obama the youth did coke when he had no idea he’d become Obama the senator, and had the honesty to admit to this, bravo. You are already more of a man in my eyes than the fake weed-smoker that was the last Democratic president, who pretended he had family values and said he believed in sexual equality. We all remember the famous crooked finger wagging episode, Clinton never did this or that to a legion of plebian female accusers and Hillary’s not some little Tammy Wynette that stands by her man baking cookies for the kids. Another Clinton co-presidency on the cards? Does America want the same lying cheating self aggrandizing ex-guvna sliding into the white house through the back door? That’s politics they say? What about a new guvna, Clinton versus Huckabee in November? In either case that would mean there's an Arkansas guvna in the white house again, no matter who wins. Yikes! Go Obama and don’t you cry for thee they come from Texarkana with dueling banjos on their knees.

  • It's the issues: stupid

Read Krugman today about the candidates and the economy and stop arguing about the stupid stuff. There is an infantile tone to this argument that is rather vapid. It's about the issues, Supreme Court, economy, health care, the environment and the workings of government. Surprise, Hillary is a woman and Obama is black, get over it or a nearly dead white man will go back in the White House and you can all spin on your egos and "ideals", it's politics.

  • HILLARY CLINTON'S DIRTY TRICK CAMPAIGN

Salon.com and the mainstream media have missed a story that clearly demonstrates the desperation of the Clinton campaign. It is sad that there has been no extensive reporting on the real reason that Hillary Clinton won the NH primary. She won the old fashioned way -- dirty politics. The Clinton staff just prior to the votes being cast in NH earlier this month sent out a flyer and made subsequent followup phone calls to women voters in NH which deliberately distorted the pro-choice voting record of Barack Obama. Thus, Hillary Clinton is hoping to win the Democratic nomination by becoming the smear merchant.

  • Tim Russert let Hillary off the Kyl Iieberman Hook

I keep wondering when one mainstreamer will ask Hillary about her vote for the Kyl Lieberman amendment. You remember the amendment brought to us by some of the same people who lied our nation into Iraq. The amendment that Senator Webb referred to as "tantamount to declaring war on Iran". Russert had Hillary on for an hour and never came close to asking her this quesiton. Real tough Russert...real tough!

The amendment that Senator Obama just happened to be out of town for. Obama continued his fence sitting on this critical amendment. He could have demonstrated that he truly was the anti war candidate by voting NO NO NO on that amendment. He did not!

When will the mainstreamers ask these "alleged" anti war candidates about this vote and non vote.

We became used to the MSM ignoring Edwards all year even after his second place win in Iowa. But I have heard Mark Green of Air America ignore Edwards just after his second place win in Iowa along with Arianna Huffington and Gary Hart.

Even Amy Goodman who I have never criticized ignored Edwards second place win. HMMMMM

  • Distracting with drama

People who are saying "I don't want to vote for Hillary or Barak, so I am going with John McCain" must be new voters. Their voting records and their platforms could not be more different.

On the Dem side, Edwards is a populist, and Clinton and Obama are very close on most issues. The one Republican who keeps coming up, McCain, is very conservative, as his history shows. To say that you'd vote for Obama or McCain as voters were saying early in NH shows you are not even paying attention.

Getting involved in the personal details of each and picking them apart is not going to help you decide which will lead the way you see fit. You have to go issue by issue. The misinformation is so easy to believe and how we all want to believe! Gossiping like a bunch of high schoolers.

Would it be too difficult to choose the issues closest to your heart and mind and vote on those? The single person called President is just tip of the iceberg. Look at how much power Cheney has, look at past cabinets and what they did, notice who is exchanging money and the beware the the lobbyists. There is sound information out there without getting caught up in this distracting drama.

  • Hillary's Own Words ...

Russert: Black Americans are hearing what you said and are taking it badly.

Clinton: Obama shouldn't twist my words

A seasoned candidate with 35 yrs under belt could not answer a simple straight forward question instead she deflected and blamed the usual suspects that look like me...

  • Disposable Attack Dogs

There seems to be a recurring pattern here: campaign affiliate makes timely but politically incorrect attack, campaign denies involvement, campaign fires offending affiliate, another campaign affiliate steps up to the mike...

If this keeps going, there won't be anybody left to run the campaigns!

  • what she said

"Surprise, Hillary is a woman and Obama is black, get over it or a nearly dead white man will go back in the White House and you can all spin on your egos and "ideals", it's politics."

    Damn right!
