Fearing God
Unbelievers hear this term and thinks it's fear, as in panicky, a tiger-is-in-the-room fear. It's not; it's more akin to reverence. The fear of God is similar to the reverence one has for regarding traffic laws while driving across town. You obey the laws, but at the same time you literally fear breaking them. You would be horrified to run red lights or fail to signal when turning.
