  • G.O.P. FLIP-FLOP.....

It seems HYPOCRISY is the defining word for repugnicant-repub fudge pachyderms of the G(rotesque) O(bstreperous) P(everted) party, and McPAIN, Romney, Giuliani. Huckabee, Thompson, Paul, Hunter are all FLIP-FLOPPING LIARS AND HYPOCRITES. Especially the pasty-faced schizoid madman John McPAIN who is all palsy-walsy with that detestable creep Joe LIE-berman, whose support McPAIN so earnestly sought and received like the OSCULUM INFAME, the "Kiss of Shame" that witches give to the anus of the Devil as a sign of homage and worship...HAH! McPAIN will soon lapse into senility, I believe he is showing signs of it already in his actions, and America has no room for a babbling idiot like McPAIN who couldn't even run for GILA MONSTER CATCHER in his home state of Arizona!

I'm the anonymous who helped handle McCain in Iraq. I'm not insulting him for his appearance -- and I hate to be ageist, but after seeing him in action, I have to say he's just too old .. way too old. He appears to have some fight in him in photos and on television, not so in person. My grandpa passed away last year at the age of 89. In his 70s, he had plenty of spunk .. his age would have been no liability to him if he were running for president (to me at least). By the time he was 81, I hate to say I wouldn't have voted for gramps based on age alone.

It's the same with McCain. I wish things would have gone another way back in 2000. We would have had a much fitter ship of state had McCain been at the helm on 9/11. (Gore too for that matter.) But it didn't and he wasn't. So now what? The McCain I met earlier this year had the peevish manners of an elder who doesn't have much use for the day-to-day goings on of the world anymore. I'd hate to see where he's at three years from now. I wish him well. He needs to start harvesting the rewards of a life well lived and go find a vineyard to sit in and play with the 'lil ones in his life. Heck, I'm starting to think about sending him a bag of oranges for Christmas. A man of his generation might appreciate the gesture, and the image of him with an orange peel in his mouth a la Don Vito Corleone tickles me.

Let's face it. The Republicans have virtually NO ONE fit to lead this year -- the only guy they have is well past his prime. I'm not too sure about Hillary or Obama either, but it looks like they are America's last best hope in these dark times. (Unless of course, miracles happen and Edwards pulls it off. A fake lefty is better than no lefty at all, right? Good luck, John. I'm pulling for you.)

  • A Study in Controlled Rage

He was captivating, fresh and full of "the Right stuff" in 2000. As a lifelong committed Democrat, I even supported his candidacy. In 2004, he has revealed himself to be a study in controlled rage and the slimy politician he really is.

I could never figure out (all respect being given to his heroism, etc.), why having served, he would make a better commander-in-chief than any number of other persons who served. It does not give him any more credentials and would definitely not qualify him as the kind of military leader akin to a Wesley Clark or a Colin Powell, whose experiences would REALLY count.

  • Why waste your time with this

Focus on the top three not the loonies. Tancredo dropped out today - so what on that too. Right now your job is Huckabee.

  • Just an FYI for you all

McCain isn't even worth the two pages of html needed for this article. The rEVOLution is going to clean McCain's clock in Iowa and put a fork in him in New Hampshire.

  • We would be in good hands with McCain

I am crestfallen that John McCain may not make it for the Republican nomination but actually it is rare for the voters to chose the most qualified person for their leader. Of all the Republican nominees, John Mc Cain has the depth of experience, courage and character to do what is best for the country. He has been bipartisan with the most important legislation such as campaign finance reform and immigration reform. At his core, he is a very decent man with a sense of honor. This is why he defends the underdogs of our society such as Native American and the Hispanic immigrants. It is too bad that the hate mongers like Lou Dobbs, Bill O'Reilly, et al, made immigration into such a vicious debate that it has poisoned our politics. Compared to John Mc Cain, the rest of the Republicans and even all the Democrats are second rate.

For once, I hope against hope that we might get a man in the White House who is devoted to the country as a whole, is intelligent and wise and humane.

  • Just Drop Out

McCain should do everyone justice and drop out. He wants to carry the water for Bush/Rove after what they did to him makes no sense to me. How he tolerated Bush/Rove swift-boating him after what he went through as a POW reveals a character flaw everyone should be concerned about.

It seems like we have 3 choices in 2008. The American Empire nanny state offered by the NEOCON Republicans or the nanny state offered by the Democratic candidates or Ron Paul who thinks we cannot afford all this nanny state nonsense.

  • SUNSET GONE

McCain is a tragic figure. He was Swift Boated by an AWOL/Deserter, Idiot Son of a Criminal Family that made it's fortune from trading with the Nazis during WWII. If he had just taken a strong stance against all that has transpired under the Bush/Cheney Crime Cartel, he may have been a front running hero to Republicans disgusted with Bushco/Neocon Legacy. But that isn't what he did. He instead cheerleaded and rubber-stamped, like a good little Neocon/GOPer, and nothing he can say will undo the damage.

He should find a porch somewhere that has a rocking chair, where he can spend his final days contemplating just where it all went so terribly wrong.
