Obama Wins Debate, Wins Nomination, Loses Election
OK Democrats, crunch time! You may be inspired by Obama -- I am, too -- but he can't win the general election, period. Even if "stuff" doesn't come out on him - a big "if" -- his overall lack of experience will cause large numbers of voters not to trust him sufficiently to vote for him. Even if black voters do vote for him, many white voters won't, regardless of what they'll say to pollsters. Other minority voters -- hispanics, asians, etc. -- will also be suspicious of him. The Dems will throw away a historic opportunity.

Talk is Cheap and Means Nothing
Mouthing phrases and campaign rhetoric does not translate into policies.
One party sounds utterly fascistic. The other sounds mildly reformist.
In the end, however, whichever party is installed into the presidency this time, policies will change very little (domestic policies) to not at all (foreign policies). The allowable candidates within each party are essentially indistinguishable from each other and all have been carefully vetted by the masters on Wall Street and in the corporate media.
The Democrats, if they are successful, will nominate less fascistic judges and try to run federal agencies in a more professional manner. But after they are done compromising with the right wing, the end result is little, if anything, gained.
Its hard to get excited about the end of the Bush years in this bought and paid for political set up that mostly consists of political theater.
