From around the country, Ron Paul's followers are descending on New Hampshire to go door-to-door for their man. But what do they really want?
The letters thread is now closed.
  • Suspicious

Anyone else notice how many of the Ron Paul letters begin with phrases like "I've always voted Democratic, but now I'm..." or "I'm really liberal but I'm supporting..."

This is a pretty obvious type of "sympathetic" trolling, and I suspect that if you went on conservative message boards you'd find the same Ron Paulites posting about how they voted for Bush (or McCain or whoever) in 2000, but now love RP.

Also, to the people who claim to support both Ron Paul and Dennis Kucinich, you either have no idea what either of them stands for, or you have no idea what you stand for and just want to vote for a rebellious "outsider" candidate. Saying you like Paul and Kucinich because they both like the constitution is like saying you really agree with both Ann Coulter and Michael Moore because they've both written books.

  • Shove that claptrap up your kazoo

I fail to see how someone who is so pro-individual liberties can deem a woman as unworthy to decide for herself and for her own body what is best.

I fail to see how femipigs fail to consider the rights of the fathers. IT takes TWO to make a kid, and two should decide, or else let dads disengage altogether if they did not want it in the first place.

  • By the looks of this board

the gummint has programmed most people very well to automatically assume more government is better.

The reality is that government is a mafia, it only adds burdens and does not solve or do anything of value.

One only need to see the utter failures of the southern border, our witless illegal wars, our unprotective FDA EPA CIA FBI which fail to stop poison foods/ bad people, a FEMA that is grossly inept, $3 TRILLION lost somewhere in the Pentagon, etc etc etc

Government is fundamentally EVIL and corrupt and a gross burden on our nation.

  • Brightstar...

Please go back to Broadsheet. This article isn't even remotely an excuse for you to start hating on women; we don't need your non-sequiturs.

  • Some would have you believe

that we must accept the coming evil government and vote only for those 'official' government sponsored candidates.

it is like the Soviet Union, vote for our clown A or our clown B and get ready for more grief, coercion, theft, violence, fearmongering, control by unseen evil entities.

Ron Paul is the opposite of all this evil.

Ron Paul is the ONLY credible choice if this nation is not to utterly become the biggest historical disaster on the face of the planet.

  • Seriously?

"The reality is that government is a mafia, it only adds burdens and does not solve or do anything of value."

Really? Not *anything*? Can I assume that if your house catches fire you won't be calling the fire department, then? Perhaps you could pay your neighbors to start a bucket brigade?

  • Not So Brightstar

    This always makes me laugh!

    Brighstar65...You're ragging on Ron Paul?

then YOU are the problem that needs to be exterminated if this REPUBLIC is to survive.

Because I sure as hell did not sign up to be ruled over by a bunch of know-it-all punks (left OR right) in Washington who want to create the inevitable fascist state that is currently so fashionable amongst you oh-so-sophisticated politerati.

Ron Paul is the only solution to the current Constitutional crisis. Anyone challenging this is an enemy of the state.

  • oh enough already

you frigtards and gold-nuts who think the Fed magically farts out pallets of Benjamins have no idea how money is created. as tempting as it is to assume that Ben calls Hank and tells him to fire up the presses, that's not how it works.

    short lesson here: http://market-ticker.denninger.net/2007/12/moneycredit-cycle.html

I am by most standards a libertarian-leaning democrat, and I want nothing to do with St Paul of Texas. gold standard? laughable. abolish the Fed? well, one more rate cut and I'd be OK with that. abolishing the rest of the things he wants to eliminate? ridiculous and anarchic. his Jesus-addled stands on social issues are NOT libertarian no matter much how he puts a states-rights constitutionalist gloss on them viz: abortion and same-sex marriage amongst others. his association with white-supremacy groups is just odious.

the ONE thing I can agree upon with him is the war. that's not enough.

  • Ron Paul Zombies Frighten Me...

Spend any amount of time on YouTube or scan the various MySpace pages of people in certain age groups and/or those who consider themselves "counterculture," and you'll quickly run across those I refer to as Ron Paul Zombies. Like the zombies you're used to seeing in horror flicks, these folks ambulate in slow unison, repeat the same monosyllabic statements (replacing "Must eat brain," with "Leave it to the states"), and are generally to be avoided at all costs.

They are not just fueled by an interest in seeing their own political ideology flourish, but seem hell bent on some misguided mission to "stick it to the man." There are only two problems: 1) their guy is going to lose; and 2) their guy is a complete fraud who, like them, seems to think that state power would somehow resist devolving into the oppressive, racist, homophobic, mysogynistic horror show it once subjected Americans to.

Unlike the undead, however, we might be able to offer Ron Paul's bloodthirsty followers a cure. It's called an education.

  • Speaking of YouTube...

    Ron Paul Zombies Frighten Me...

Spend any amount of time on YouTube or scan the...

This is ugly but you realize that the Ron Paul rEVOLution is just so much guerilla marketing, fraud and hype, and see who has been doing it:

Youtube tip from Ron Paul guerrilla "gamer"

Technicians can advise on the viability of these methods. VNNers should know this information, nevertheless. A concerted effort by a few who have time for this, focused on a particular WN Youtube video can move it into view by thousands. It just takes a little organization. Everybody here can do this, except bjb w/his niggerberry.

Subject: [RonPaulGraphics] The gaming Youtube event to support the November 5th event

This is a shout out to organizers of ron paul groups nationwide. Please pass this on to all your members and volunteers. I have noticed various discussions about the possiblity of "guerilla marketing" campaigns involving dropping info or money from airplanes, getting airplanes to pull banners, buying billboard space, advertising on buses or park benches and other schemes and publicity stunts. We all seem to be aware that time is SHORT and the need for publicity is HUGE. With the primaries quickly approaching, a plot to contribute over ten million dollars in a single day has gained some interest. If you visit the website http://thisnovember5th.com

you can see that thousands have already committed to taking part in this historic even on November 5th.

As of today 5000 people have signed up to participate. But we need abut 95000 more Ron Paul supporters to sign up. I have created a video on youtube to rally more support for the November 5th plan. If only a few hundred people watch it however it will not have much of an impact. So this letter is to offer you and your volunteers an opportunity to help get this message heard by hundreds of thousands of people who may support Ron Paul but have not yet joined any meetups or online networks, and who therefore may not know about the November the 5th campaign. It will work and it is FREE. ABSOLUTELY FREE. The cost is ZERO.

Here's how it works. Many people decide what videos they will watch on youtube by looking at what other people have watched today. When you click on the "videos" tab on Youtube it shows you the "most viewed videos" of the day. Just being on the front page of that list is enough to generate around 100,000 views in a single day. Did you know that the "view count" on any video does not take the IP addresses into account. That means that if you at your home computers watch the same video 5 times, it adds 5 views to the view count. What Youtube did to prevent exploitiation of this by people...well...by

people like us...is to make it so it doesn't change the view count if you don't watch the whole video. So people who have tried to "game youtube" by refreshing the same video over and over have found that it doesn't work, but this is only because they didn't allow the entire video to play through and complete. Others, who realized that this was how it works, have posted 4 second long clips so that they could let the whole video play and refresh it enough times in a single day to get to the top of the most viewed list. Youtube doesn't take long to notice that such a short video has 80,000 view from just one or two IP adresses and they pull the video. What if you had thousands of different IP adresses replaying a video which had a running time so long nobody would ever imagine it was being "gamed?" It would be possible to "prime the pump" and generate a hundred thousand actual views to your gamed video. Is "gaming youtube" illegal? No, it is not hacking. You aren't manipulating any code or anything remotely like that. All you would be doing is excercising your right to watch your favorite video over and over, the same way a child watches his favorite dvd over and over. That's it. It just so happens that if a large group of people conspired to do this on the same video they would weild enormous free publicity power because it would put their favorite video on the first "most viewed" page on Youtube.

Will this give Ron Paul supporters a bad reputation if we get caught? I would certainly give publicity to whatever we are trying to get noticed, which is a good thing. Call me crazy but aren't corporate media reporters far and wide claiming that we are using bots and hacking every poll anyway? Really, what do we have to lose? It's not like the NWO played fair when they established the 16th amendment by fraud or when they established the 17th amendment to make sure we can't recall senators who sell out to monied interests. [or the 13th and 14th Amendments that made farm implements equal to humans. -Ed]

    (Black people are farm implements)

We have been under unfair attack for a long long time.

If you go a step further and install the "auto-refresh" plug-in for internet explorer 7 available at:

    http://www.windowsmarketplace.com/de...o&itemid=19736

then you don't have to keep manually starting your favorite video over and over to watch it again and again. I would just keep playing over and over automatically. This is how those "gaming youtube" in the past got 80000 views on their 4 second video from just one or twocomputers. So if we Ron Paul supporters do this, what video should we make our "favorite?"
