Letters to the Editor

This letter is associated with the following article:
As he tells Salon in an interview, even Ron Paul is surprised by his spontaneous, self-organizing presidential campaign. And he still hasn't seen "V for Vendetta."
  • the Ron Paul surge

Nice interview. I don't think it's a bad thing to write about being on the campaign trail as part of a series that's defined as being about the campaign trail, but I'm guessing the people who are complaining are only here because they googled his name and this article came up. It's an odd tactic, and it will be interesting to see how it plays out.

What I find most interesting about this article is that so many of the people in NH to support Ron Paul aren't from NH (and, as Mr. Scherer amusingly points out repeatedly have paid to get there with their own money!). My hunch is that the influx of out-of-towners will be seen as an insult by many in NH, and that they'd do well to recruit as many people from in state as they can to make it seem less like an inverted bridge-and-tunnel invasion.

500 people from New York at a rally in New Hampshire isn't going to help him much. Just like 5000 people posting letters here won't. Fun to watch, but ineffectual.
