Rudy Giuliani markets himself as the Republican with the best shot at beating Hillary Clinton next fall. But the first time the pair faced off, that's not how it worked out.

  • Western World

If the U.S. has the worst public schools in the Western World, it might be because we have the least robust public sector in the Western World.

Things were worse when there were no meat inspections and no child labor laws or workplace safety laws, etc. I swear libertarians are some of the most obtuse people on the planet. There is not a country on the planet peopled by dumb enough shmucks to actually put into action the libertarians' philosophy and yet they are always around spamming message boards and whatnot.

  • Notes on reading the article

One of the interesting features that Salon has now returned to is the idea of requiring readers to view an advertisement in order to read most articles. This is usually indicated by the large font message that starts with the phrase "Click on the sponsor logo:

to read this article and all of Salon for free "

Interestingly enough, I can never find or see the sponsor logo that is referenced. This has been going on for weeks and is getting annoying. I have no problem with the idea of viewing an ad, but I can't get there from your web page.

Lacking a tech support email address for Salon, I thought I'd just post my observation here in the hope that someone will act upon it.

I am using IE version 7 on XP Pro.
